My wife and I gave this restaurant to try for the first time. We really enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The server was an absolute angel and made us feel very welcome. She was super nice and loved having a good conversation. She also suggested a very good role, which was called the orgasm role. It was excellent. We also liked that the fact that the restaurant was very clean had a nice atmosphere and wasn't oversized. For dinner, we had their chefs fried rice, orgasm roll and godfather rule. Everything was delicious. The rolls had great flavor and were very fresh and had a nice presentation. We also like that there was a good amount of filling in each role and it didn't have too much rice on the outside. We enjoyed the fried rice as it had a great flavor and was not salty and had a good amount of shrimp, chicken and steak in it. The lady hostess speaks Cantonese and our serve speaks both Cantonese and Mandarin, and his English is better than my Chinglish. On 避风塘调味 typhoon shelter seasoning, that usually has fried onion, garlic and hot pepper, is originated from Hong Kong. Typhoon frequents HK, as often as hurricane does Florida. Many shelters around HK provide safety to boats during the disasters. As time goes by, these shelters became the boat people's communities, where they live, work, and also cook on their boat for people who bring their own seafood (purchased elsewhere nearby). One shelter I used to go was Quarry Bay (鲗鱼涌). The boat owner/cook would ask how would you like your seafood be cooked. I asked for this and steam 清蒸 equally. It's a little baffling to me that HK even invented typhoon shelter seasoning (good with beers ...), given the fact that they love to eat live seafoods, which do not need heavy seasoning. Since it's conveniently located not too far from our home, we decided to visit on a weekday. We arrived on a Tuesday evening around 8:30 PM, and the place was not crowded. There was ample parking available outside the restaurant. This eatery is situated at the inner corner of the building. The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive. We ordered several dishes, including Korean Bulgogi Beef, Sesame Chicken, General TSO's Chicken, and chicken fried rice. The dinner plates come with a choice of garden salad or soup, along with steamed white rice. The portions were generous, and the flavors were delightful. The prices are moderately priced. I tried the sesame chicken, which had a subtle orange flavor that I found enjoyable. The chicken fried rice was quite good. The beef bulgogi was decent, though not as impressive as the one we usually get at SaRi. My son ordered the General TSO chicken, which he described as very good and not spicy. One thing I noticed, which I hope they will address soon, is that the prices on the "to go" menu do not match those on the "restaurant menu," with some prices altered by hand, but this discrepancy only affected two items. Service and food were good. My mom and I got a volcano roll, shrimp tempura roll, California roll, and a Philly roll (where I subbed tuna for the smoked salmon). I also had a kirin light. Ended up being about $50 on a Sunday for lunch. They opened right at noon. Service was good. They came over and asked us twice if we were good. Place was clean. The Orgasm Roll was great. I frequently order it (without spicy mayo) through DD or UE for lunch and quick delivery. Since I stumbled upon this restaurant and gotten hooked a few months ago to the gyoza, tempura roll, and the orgasm roll, the portion sizes have gone down substantially and the taste is not as "Wow!" when I order the sushi rolls. You get the same amount of slices but they're thinner. For those reasons, I deducted 1 a star. This last time I ordered, I wondered if they'd given me such a small portion because I used a percentage off coupon!! There needs to be consistency with flavor and portion size. I'll give them another try and if it happens again, I'm done. I work hard for my money and don't want to still be hungry after eating a meal. read more

I just happened to be in the area for an appointment. The restaurant name sounded familiar so I thought I'd get an early lunch. It's one of the few sushi restaurants in the area that is open on Monday, and opens at 11:00 am. I believe they are closed on Tuesday's. I was so happy to be greeted by a staff member that I already knew from another Asian restaurant I had frequented once before with my mother. It was a welcomed surprise. She remembered me and we talked about mom. She sat me in a booth right away, and told me they had reopened their newly renovated restaurant in October 2021 for dine-in service. I didn't realize they had only been doing takeout during the pandemic. But, totally understandable since people weren't really dining out much at that time. Anyway, I felt comfortable right away. I love that the booth seating has high walls. I feel like I'm more socially distanced from other people which I like. The restaurant is very clean and well organized. The service is fantastic! The menu is like a book. They have a little of everything from sushi, kitchen entrées, and desserts. I was immediately drawn to the fruit iced teas on the drink menu. I originally saw a chalk board menu of the real fruit teas when I walked in and knew right away that I had to try one. I got the lychee iced tea which was so cold and refreshing. It even had lychee fruit at the bottom of the glass which I saved for dessert. It was a very tall glass, and I didn't need any refills. It was perfect. They also have wine, beer, and saké. I was a little unsure what to get. I almost got the House Special Udon noodles, but decided to get the Dream Roll when seeing a picture of it on the menu. I was going to get some salmon nigiri, but the torched salmon belly came highly recommended. I was very pleased with both choices. The Dream Roll had baked scallops and salmon. It even had a little acidity to it. Maybe rice or balsamic vinegar, but I'm not sure. It was good. I really loved the nigiri the best. The torched part gave it a natural smoky BBQ flavor, and it looked pretty. I was happy with everything I ordered. I definitely want to go back and try the Krab Rangoon, Popcorn Lobster Roll, and the Spicy Scallop hand roll. The pictures on the menu look delicious. The 5 stars is not just for the food. The service just brings it over the top. The staff is small, but they are so genuine and caring. Somehow they still manage to get the food out quickly. I won't wait too long to go back. My husband & I went here for the first time. It was a Friday evening around 6pm. We had to wait a few minutes & was seated by the sweetest woman. We ordered the calamari to start which was okay. It wasn't what either of us expected but not horrible either. I just wouldn't order again. I got the Philly roll ( I'm from Jersey & it's very hard to find places down here that use avocado in their Philly roll! I was so excited to see they do!) and the Mexican bubble roll as pictured Mine came out first and it was so good I forgot to take a photo of my husbands He got the Osaka & Butterfly roll. My wife and I ate lunch here as we have had a difficult time finding a good Asian restaurant. When we walked in, the hostess greeted us immediately and sat us in a booth. The ambiance is nice, but it was a bit warm and humid inside and there was a strange musty odor. It was off-putting, but we decided to stay and try the food. We ordered egg rolls as an appetizer and there were good. Very crunchy and the filling was delicious. We both ordered off the lunch menu and had the Chicken Teriyaki bento box, which came with 2 pieces of gyoza and 4 pieces of California Rolls. Chicken was white meat and tender, and the sauce had good flavor. They added sautéed onions, which surprisingly worked well with the dish. We ordered the bento box with fried egg rice instead of white rice, but it was rather plain. Overall, the food was good, the service was excellent, but the humidity and strange odor were the two issues we had with the restaurant. We'll be back to try additional dishes, and hopefully they turn up the AC next time and get some sort of air purifier! read more

This was my 2nd time at Omakase. My first time here was when they were fairly new (4 years ago). I liked everything then, and I've always wanted to come back here. It took 4 years for me to come back, and it's because my husband saw one of their menus in the mail. He saw ramen on the menu & immediately said, "Let's go to Omakase for dinner tonight!" We had gyoza & Korean bbq short rib appetizers. The gyoza were just ok. It tasted like frozen gyoza that I buy at the Asian store that ends up sitting in my freezer forever. I really loved the short ribs though! The quality of the meat was not the best because it was a bit tough, but it tasted soooo delicious! My tonkotsu was good. It didn't taste that flavorful when I first started eating it, but maybe the pork belly flavors ended up mixing in with the soup & made it taste way better cuz the broth tasted really good half way through. The pork belly was incredibly good. Hubby had the spicy miso ramen which he loved. He ordered it with extra pork belly. We ended up taking 1/3 of his ramen that he had leftover and half a bowl of my ramen noodles (barely any broth left cuz I always slurp that up before I can finish the noodles). We would definitely come back here, and hopefully it doesn't take us another 4 years! I really want to try their bulgogi, and I love bento boxes! read more
