It's time to update this review again. There have been some really great changes to what was once the original Token Ramen. There has also been a name change from Token to Miku Ramen. But don't let that fool you into thinking it's under different management. It's the same wonderful team that's always been there. I was happy to see that during my most recent visit. My favorite item here is the Black Garlic Ramen. Honestly, it's my favorite ramen in the area. This time, I decided to deviate. I went with the Mega Pork mainly because of the beautiful picture on the menu. This is such a meaty and tasty dish, although I did miss the black garlic oil. I'd totally get this again with the addition of black garlic. There's something about it that really brings out the seasoned flavors of the egg. The tonkotsu broth is always amazing with or without it. It warms my bones, and especially on a cold winter day. It's also nice that Kung Fu Tea is still the prominent brand here. It's always reliable with consistently good quality ingredients. Their seasonal Pumpkin Oolong Milk Tea is always a winner. So, what has changed? The menu now includes soft or crispy sushi tacos. They have 4 different kinds. I tried the crispy shell with smoked salmon. I LOVE it!! I almost ordered another one, but it would have been too much with the ramen. I can't wait to get it again. I really love that fried maki wrap. It's so light & crunchy. It really does add a good amount of texture to the sushi along with the cucumber. So, I almost got one of the 4 different udons on the menu. It was going to be a toss up between the Kimchi Shrimp and the Black Garlic. Again, it was the beautiful pictures on the menu that lured me in. Ah, but I went with the ramen instead. I will definitely try the udon next time. I was told that the Kimchi Shrimp is very popular. If that's not enough to tempt you, then you must check out the dessert menu. I saw items such as Matcha Cheesecake and Vanilla Crepe Cake that definitely caught my eye. I'm already thinking about my next lunch order. I love the rebranding and the new menu. The service is still great as well as the ambiance in the dining area. It's a place that will always keep me coming back for more. Update: Get the Kimchi Shrimp Udon. It's that Korean inspired udon dish that almost tastes Italian. Absolutely delicious! Was a bit disappointed, the Korean bbq ramen was not like the picture in the menu. Different cut of meat, tough bland meat, no Korean flavor other than the kimchi that was in it. Not enough noodles! Second time coming here. First time I had ramen, and it was pretty good. This time came in because through the Uber Eats app you can get 2 for 1 on select menu items. We went with the Pineapple Chicken with fried rice, which came with miso soup, and we got the Gyoza. What a deal 2 of each for less than $30. I can't tell you how many years I drove past this restaurant never trying it but always wondering what it was like. I had a rough day and my ten year old suggested we eat here. It wasn't busy on a Tuesday night so we were immediately seated. We indulged in Strip Steak Skewers, Fried Shrimp, Shrimp Ramen, Pork Ramen... the mango, strawberry and vanilla mochi was amazing. I had a really great experience here. I came twice in 1 week. I had to stick with the Katsu chicken because I had it the first time and it was so good, I got it again. I definitely recommend getting a side of mushroom skewers as well. Whatever sauce they grilled the skewers in caramelized it so well. The chicken Katsu is perfectly made with the chicken being perfectly moist and crispy, the rice and broccoli are cooked to perfection and is a huge portion. Edamame was great as well. All the food was very tasty and at a great price. Our server was super sweet as well as the hostess that seated us I requested a tea that was a passion fruit green tea with boba that was not on the menu and the server was able to make it happen and it tasted so refreshing. We started out with some calamari and pork bao buns FOF the table. The calamari was okay but the bai buns were really good. The pork belly was tender and lean. For my drink, I had the coconut milk boba tea and it was very good also. For my main course, I had the Shrimp ramen and it was delicious! There were large, juicy pieces of shrimp in each bite. I love Kung Fu Tea, I feel like you can never go wrong with that business, they have something for everyone. This 3 star review is mainly for Token Ramen. The service was great, the ambience is super cute, but I have a problem with the food :/ It's catered to American tastes (no offense) it's not authentic Japanese ramen. The broth is too salty, it's basically the same ramen with different toppings no matter what you order. The noodles didn't taste good, nothing really stood out. The only thing I enjoyed was the garlic chili oil in one of our dishes, it was the only thing that made me say hmm. We ordered gyoza and calamari for starters as well, calamari tasted like frozen old octopus deep fried in panko, gyoza was clearly store bought and frozen. Alright I will start off with usually this place is always one of my go to spots. Every once in a while a nice lady by the name of Karen will wait on me here. Always nice and helpful. Today I got a new waiter I haven't seen yet. Austin it says on the receipt. Cool expecting excellent service like this location usually does. I order my usual black garlic ramen. Food comes out fine. But not even two bites in and Austin brings out the check. I'm the only one in the restaurant. I don't understand why when I've barely even tasted my damn food yet. "No rush" how tf am I supposed to sit and enjoy my meal when now I have this timer sitting over my head feeling like I need to hurry and pay and leave. I was very taken aback. I have a good Yelp friend, who never misses on her reviews. She's right on... full proof... . Sooo, when she wrote favorably about this place, I knew I had to go. On this my maiden voyage, I just went for tea and I quickly learned that I have a lot to learn. One look at the brightly colored digital menu boards and I was swimming in choices and possibilities. That can be dangerous for us Geminis- we're interested in everything! But fortunately, I came with a plan: winter melon milk green tea. After studying the menu ahead of time (on Yelp, of course), that's where I landed. Ohhh, that was a good place to land. Sweet, yes-almost Christmas cookie'esque... frothy, creamy, dreamy. It was the perfect starter order. Next up: a grapefruit punch! I'm not totally sure what it is yet, but I don't think you can miss, here. Token Ramen and Kung Fu Tea is at the north end of a strip mall, on Providence at Bloomingdale... a couple of doors down from Gran Agave. The tea operation is on the left when you go in and the restaurant is on the right. I was there around 4:30 on a Friday afternoon and the tea side was hopping! The staff was on it-efficient and pleasant. The place was spotless, too. There's some outside seating, near a walk up pickup window and there's a decent amount of parking-though I could see it maybe filling up quickly in the evenings. This place has some really interesting items on the menu and they're very creative. Ramen with eggs and all that jazz is super cool, but when it's not hot it doesn't taste the best. I was extremely excited to order the veggie hibachi plate ($11.99) and although it was appetizing some parts of the meal were cold and some were warm (not even hot). I was having lunch with my parents and the chicken ramen ($14.99) my father ordered had to be turned back to the kitchen to be warmed up. The noodles were very bland and cold so it was quite difficult to eat especially it being soup. At that point, I would just eat cold water. What I will say is that the spring rolls ($4.50) were delicious and crunchy, but the edamame ($$4.50) was bland and lacking in salt. I don't know about you, but I love my edamame with at least a healthy dash of NaCl! We had also ordered some boba drinks, but those were a hit or miss too. I sadly didn't get a photo because the taro milk tea and thai milk tea couldn't be made due to missing ingredients. I'm sure those wouldn't be up to par, either. The food was great, please do not fret. The problem is that the food is always cold so the flavors do not get to have their own platform to shine as they would if the temperature of the meal was hot. The service is OK, but I usually worry more on the food part which in this case would be 3 out of 5 stars for me. read more

Token Ramen is one of our favorite places to eat at as a family. We had a great experience again today. Our server, Gabriel, was friendly, attentive and quickly brought the food out as it was ready. Came in for Ramen,and was very happy that I did! The location is at the end of a strip mall, with a decent amount of parking. Restaurant has cute decorations inside and has so e outside seating when the weather permits as well! We were greeted as soon as we walked in, and sat quickly as it was a slow Wednesday night at 7pm. We started off with pan-fried Gyoza, which came out quickly, perfect amount of crunch, and very tasty! My wife ordered the Miso Tonkotsu, and I had the Mega Pork Ramen. Both had very tasty and thick broth as you'd expect from a good ramen. Almost forgot that they are paired with Kung Fu Tea so there is a huge selection of Boba Tea to choose from as well, so I had to get a Milk Boba Tea and it was very tasty as well. Dining room is back open. They got some new staff, unfortunately incredibly poorly trained, boba and drink quality are down, service is way down. This used to be my favorite place in Brandon for boba but not anymore. Over past couple weeks, the boba is not as soft or sweet. They frequently run out of ingredients for drinks, i.e. taro, which is my go to drink. Problem is after you place an order on the app, they won't notify you if they can't make your drink until you get there to pick it up. At the other Kung Fe Tea (in north Tampa) if you place an order on the app, they will call you within minutes to let you know if they can't make your drink, which is nice because you can tell them if you want to change your drink or just cancel the order. Not so here, you don't find out until after you arrive and they could care less. The food, decent but overpriced. Ramen is about medium size in quantity, broth is average tasting but prices are $15 or higher. It's not a good value. The pork buns are delicious, but $8 for 2 small ones, again not a good value. The stir fry is decent but it's $18, defiintely not a good value. The staff behind the counter is completely different now and in my opinion borderline incompetent. Not sure what happen to the people before who knew what they were doing. Yesterday night I tried to order takeout, no pickup at their phone number for over 30 minutes, so I came into the store, I confirmed the phone number was correct. They just don't have the phone ringer turned on because I'm guessing they just don't care. I ordered a bunch of food for takeout and sat there waiting, and waiting, and waiting, for about 30 minutes. I should have asked earlier but I assumed they would tell me if/when the food was ready. After I finally asked for an update, it turns out my food was on the countertop but they just didn't bother to tell me it was ready. Apparently now they expect you have to come up and ask them every few minutes if your food is ready. They will not tell you. I'm gonna start looking for another boba place to go read more

Nice close option. Service was fast and friendly on a week night. We ordered the chicken ramen, shrimp ramen, pineapple tea, and mango tea with mango popping boba. The ramen noodles were as expected but the broth lacked flavor. I was not I fan of the type of mushrooms used and I felt there was a lack of ramen toppings to choose from in general. The chicken was tender and well seasoned. The shrimp was cooked well. The pineapple tea was tasty and had bits of pineapple in the bottom. It was slightly sweetened but had an interesting after taste. The mango tea with mango boba was very, very sweet. I had the pleasure to stop in today at lunch time for take out. It certainly was not cheap especially compared to Hibachi Express but I did not mind shelling out around 10 bucks including tax for a delicious Hibachi meal. First of all there was a young female and male working at the counter and both were super nice, friendly & helpful. This is more of a fast service type Hibachi/Japanese place but I was disappointed that they did not have sushi. Even though you order at a counter and it's more of a fast service type place the entrance and dining room were both very nice, clean and appealing. I ordered the lunch hibachi shrimp and asked if I could just get carrots and mushrooms instead of the mixed vegetables, they were so nice and said no problem without any additional charge. Every hibachi meal comes with one cup of Yum Yum sauce which I love and they will give you extra upon request for no additional cost. When I got home and opened the meal I was presently surprised at the size and amount of the shrimp, it came with fried rice or white rice (I got fried) and choice of miso or clear soup(I got clear) only improvement needed in my opinion is the addition of more sliced green onions and addition of some regular onions to the soup and then it would be perfect. Overall portions were good, taste was delicious for a decent value....Hibachi Express is cheaper and has sushi but this was a great place and right across the street from my house so will definitely be returning! read more

A clean and nice place to get a tea drink and some Taiwanese-ish food. I was in the area and thought I'd try out this Kung Fu Tea location. It is similar to the location on Fowler, but much much bigger. Like cavernous dining room bigger. I can't imagine ever not finding a place to sit here. Service was fast. You order at the counter, and they give you a buzzer to come pick up your food when it is ready. Remember that their standard sweetness is VERY sweet. I forgot to indicate that I only wanted half sweetened tea, and my mouth stung from the sugar. Whoops! The food is not bad. I had the Samurai chicken, which tastes like Taiwanese popcorn chicken but in filet/katsu form. I had it with the braised minced meat rice, which was actually surprisingly flavorful. It also included some broccoli and a generous bowl of miso soup (or clear soup). I'd consider this as good an option for tea house food as one can expect in Brandon. On my most recent visit, the restaurant seems to have gotten brighter bulbs because it was light more brightly this time. I added some chili oil to give it a little heat. Personally I was not a fan of the flavor profile of the pork. It tasted as if it were marinated or cured in a brine that competed with the flavor of the broth, making it unpleasant. I would order something different if I dined here again. read more
