I would say it was Southern friendly service (really nice) I usually order the white wine but as far as their cocktails I had a special margarita that was seriously undrinkable, this nights visit i ordered a vodka martini first one very good the second one was not like the 1st filled a little over 1/2 way in the glass and icey I pointed it out to the server and second to the manager and got a bit of an attitude from both. Fortunately, I was seated promptly and I ordered a cocktail. I had the sweet and spicy salmon for my entrée with rice and onion rings for the sides. Presentation was a bit sloppy. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the rice was awesome. Onion rings were also good. Got a slice of apple pie à la mode to go. Presentation was not good, and the pie itself was OK, dough was somewhat chewy/underbaked. In summary, this place pleasantly surprised me. Food was quite good and prices were fair. Had a canceled flight and had to spend the night in DFW. Hotel recommended this place and had a 10% off coupon so I braced the underpass walk to check it out. 20 minute wait to be seated for a party of one if you didn't want to sit at the bar (wasn't offered). I ordered the green chili queso & chips, chicken breast with chili and loaded mashed potatoes. The queso was good and the chips salty. The chili was a Texas chili (no beans) despite being a restaurant modeled on Aspen, Colorado -- but I cant judge the recipe too harshly for staying local. Chicken breast was just OK -- Cheddars has a much better marinated one for the same price. This breast was moist and depended on the char for all of its flavor. Loaded mashed lacked salt, even with the cheese and bacon. Service was just OK. Not bad, but very little waitress interactions (never asked if I wanted a second beer etc). Place had busy energy and prices weren't bad. I'd recommend getting something besides chicken if you give it a shot. read more

On a one night stay at the Residence Inn/South, they recommended us to eat dinner at this restaurant. If you stay at the Residence Inn, they give you a 10% discount. It's 5 minutes via the hotel shuttle. It was a Thursday night and the ribeye was in special. Each night they have different specials. Our servant was pleasant and attentive and I felt like I was in Texas with the decor. For apps, we ordered the pow wow Shrimp and we were able to share the 16oz Ribeye Steak because it was a very good size for both of us. For sides we had green beans and yellow rice. We downed the food with some good old fashions and they were good so we had 2 more. For Dessert, we ordered Fried cheesecake with ice-cream. Very good meal while in Texas. read more

First time there to celebrate a birthday. Made reservations and asked to have a celebration with sombrero and singing happy birthday. Food ok. When time to get the check waited 20 mins to get the check as our server walked past us several times and I kept asking for our check. Paid with cash (young people must not be familiar with cash just credit cards) took another 15 mins to get change. Seems like this place is more interested in serving alcohol and getting tips. No sombrero, no happy birthday song. Disappointed. read more

We order two meals and 2 appetizers, one of them being a sirloin with mushrooms and a side salad, then a chicken fried chicken, with mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese. let me put this nicely, when we got our food, the potato wedges were completely solid and cold took me 2 minutes just to get one bite down, my gravy for my chicken fried chicken was a complete solid and was also cold, went to pour it on my chicken and it just kept sliding. The Mac and cheese was some of the worst Mac and cheese I have ever had, craft Mac and cheese is way better, didn't even taste like cheese and nor were the noodles even warm, next my mash potatoes were one of the only decent things in this meal, because it actually had a taste that I could kinda of enjoy, next my mother's meal, her sirloin was complete mush, you could reform it to different shapes, it was uneditable. Stayed in a hotel close by for almost four weeks. After having dinner here the second night of my stay, I continued to eat here every night until my departure. I was by myself so I are at the bar every night. Staff was very friendly and attentive to every detail. They all remembered my name and made me feel right at home. I ate the 8oz filet most nights. The price was so reasonable, I figured I would treat myself. Tender, full of flavor and cooked perfectly every time. Blackened chicken was my other staple. Get the loaded potato as aside, perfect. So I was in town under less than desirable conditions... the great blizzard of Jan 2025 will go down in history as the last time I flew during the winter months. Trapped in Dallas TX with only my sharp wit and set of empty bowels. Ambiance: traditional bar and grill layout. Nothing fancy. The semi finals between Ohio state and Texas was playing at the Cboys (I don't call them by their full name as I don't like them - Go Pats!!) stadium 30 min away. I was seated pretty quick but the night was young. The hostess was running around (as any good hostess should be). Appetizer: I got a 6 piece order of the slow smoked wings. I don't think I had ever had smoked wings before and I'm going to be STFU ....best wings I have ever had. The skins were cooked to perfection. The meat was falling off the damn bone. I may never eat another wing if it isn't slow smoked again. It came with a zesty ranch stuff but I ate most of them without anything on them and they were amazing. Main Course: 14oz ribeye / Steamed Broccoli: The broccoli tastes good. It was slightly over cooked. Only one large piece had a large stalk. The ribeye was cooked exactly as I asked. It tasted amazing. It was about 1/2 -3/4" thick. The marbling was pretty good. I had only one small part that was too tough to chew but other than that it was really good. Salad : Spicy Salad with grilled chicken: I don't eat most of it because I ate the steak and broccoli first. It was ok. I don't think a great steak place has to have a great salad but it always helps. There was a little too much salad dressing on it. My waitress was Tatiana. I consider a really good waiter/waitress someone who makes sure I have what I need but I hardly remember them being around. She was efficient, and got me everything I needed. My only recommendation is she should smile at least once. I hate when people tell me to smile. Although I do admire an introvert who dares wait tables. A minefield of there ever was one. Arriving at about 2pm on a weekday, I was immediately seated, but noticed about half the tables needed to be cleaned, which surprised me, given that it wasn't particularly busy. I later noticed that there was only one person cleaning the tables, he was doing a good and thorough job, but again, just one person for a whole restaurant. The atmosphere is cozy, could work for a romantic dinner, or just a friendly get together. The food was decent, but there wasn't anything about it that really set it apart for restaurants of a similar caliber. Again, it tasted good, just lacked something special. It was plated well and I appreciate the gravy for the Chicken Fried Steak being served on the side (I always forget to ask!). read more
