It was a treat for me to finally visit a Texas Roadhouse restaurant! Yeah, da 808 is kinda behind da times, as we don't have Texas Roadhouse out here, but we got Outback Steakhouse in da 808. Lol! So Tuesday night Carrollton got hit with a storm. Heavy rain, lightening, & thunder. I asked my coworkers if they wanted to head out to dinner, but it appeared that da fella's weren't down wid' it. Luckily, my Big Island coworker was also in Texas the same time I was here, so I reached out to him to see if he was down........sure enough, he was. When in Texas, I guess ya gotta have Texas BBQ at least once.......and being that I have worked in Texas numerous times, I've had more than my share of BBQ Ribs & Brisket in the past. Upon deciding on where to go, we ended up at - Texas Roadhouse in Irving. The Tuesday night we came here, even through the bad weather, the restaurant was still packed! The wait for a table was minimum, and upon getting seated, service was instantanious. I think I was still recovering from the previous night from Japan House, so I didn't want to eat a whole bunch of food. Upon looking over the menu, I ended up with just a BBQ Chicken Sandwich w/Fries. As for my Big Island coworker, he went for da gusto and got a BBQ Ribs & Steak plate. What can I say about the grub? I really enjoyed my BBQ Chicken Sandwich! It was a bit messy with all that sauce, but that's what napkins are for! Lol! Very generous serving of food, and I managed to down all of my sandwich, but left most of my fries behind, as it was just too much food. As for my coworker, he destroyed his BBQ Ribs & Steak plate. I was so happy he enjoyed his meal, as two days before I took him to another restaurant where he ordered a similar combo, but left a lot of food behind (I think his meal wasn't too good at the other restaurant). One more thing about Texas Roadhouse...........have you ever tried the complimentary rolls? Oh my!!!! Da buggah is Winnah's! Went here on a busy Sunday and had an absolutely wonderful dinner. I know Texas Roadhouse is a well-known chain, but the service here reminded me that you don't need to be an independent restaurant to provide excellent service. In fact, some of these restaurants in Dallas need some customer service training for sure. We had a very simple check in and we were quoted a 15 min wait for three people. Not even 5 minutes later, we were texted to come back, the we waited another 5 minutes before we were seated. Our server was so nice and she was helpful in selecting our food and giving recommendations. She also was very attentive without being overbearing. Our food was cooked very well and even the salad was super tasty. My friend said it was the best salad he's ever had, lol. The steak was done well and onion blossom was good. I had a good experience dining here and would definitely come back. Splitting our checks was also very simple, our server had no problem with it and it was all done on a tablet after. We ordered the combo appetizer to share and I had the Dallas Fillet with fries and chili. Do I really have to talk about the food? We all know the food here is always delicious. Let's see....The rattlesnake bites are phenomenal, the Dallas Fillet melts in your mouth, and they have the most flavorful chili in the state of Texas. Felt like I had to visit a Texas Roadhouse while in Texas. Seemed almost illegal not to. To be fair, the experience is very on-brand. It's loud, it's packed, it smells like steak and cinnamon butter, and the servers are genuinely the sweetest. Shoutout to our waitress who was basically Southern hospitality personified. You could tell she was doing her best to make everyone's night feel like a mini birthday party, even if it wasn't. That said, the food was a little rough. My steak was aggressively seasoned, to the point where I couldn't really tell if I liked it or if should have reported it to Flavortown. Same goes for the sides, heavy on salt, light on nuance. Still, the rolls are objectively delicious, and I get the appeal of having a basket of them show up the second you sit down, and a second basket as you finish your first basket. That part was wonderful. Overall, I'm not mad I went. It's one of those "when in Texas" type of stops. I have been going to Texas Roadhouse since I was in college and they will always be a staple of mine! The fresh and richness of their food always bring a delightful mood to my tummy. I dined at the location in Irving and the service, food, and overall encounter was a 10 out of 10! Our waitress Bailey did an amazing job! She was prompt with our drinks, rolls, and food! Everything came out hot and she did not miss a refill. She was actually one of the best waitresses I've had! Very pleasant attitude, bubbly, and kind spirit. Also, to add the wait was not long at all. It was quite busy but we still were able to sit down within 10 minutes of putting our names on the list! There's also something else I'd like to mention: Texas Roadhouse now offers mocktails! I'm unsure when they were added to the menu, but it's a wonderful addition. I can't recall the name of the one I tried, but it was coconut-flavored. If you're in the Irving area and have not made your way to this location be sure to stop in! I had a very disappointing experience at Texas Roadhouse tonight. We came here for my friends 21st birthday dinner. Our server was Ana R, and the service from the moment we walked in was poor. We arrived around 7:35 PM. The host greeted us with a straight face and didn't provide us with silverware when we were seated. Once we sat down, we ordered a Dr Pepper, two waters with lemon, and a side salad with extra croutons. When Ana returned with our drinks and salad, she forgot the lemons. She said, "Oh, I'll get the lemons," and walked away. We then asked her for plastic silverware, a straw, bread, and the extra croutons for the salad that she had forgotten earlier. She left and went to attend to another table but never brought the lemons, silverware, straws, or croutons. By 7:55 PM, she came back to take our food order, yet we still had no lemons, no silverware, and no croutons despite already asking multiple times. I also specifically requested that my Caesar salad come out with the rest of my tables meal. About 10 minutes later, the Caesar salad arrived separately and we still had no lemons, silverware, or croutons, even though she had walked by our table several times. At that point we asked for a manager. James, the manager, came over. We explained that we still hadn't received basic items like lemons, silverware, or croutons. Surprisingly, there was no apology or real concern. Since the salad had been sitting there and became soggy and we still had no way to eat it, we asked for it to be sent back. While speaking to the table next to us on how their service was, Ana brought our food out and while serving us our food made a smart remark. She and I quote said "Hope they aren't talking shit about me" to us referring to the table across from us that we were speaking to. Which made us uncomfortable and seemed like a passive aggressive remark to my table since James spoke to her and she seemed upset with the feedback we gave about her service. Around 8:16 PM, after about 25 minutes of barely being attended to, Ana finally brought our food. Unfortunately, when I looked at my Caesar salad, there was a curly hair in it, I have straight hair. I had to sent the salad back again. The only response we received was that "it would be taken off the bill." There was no manager follow-up, no apology, and no attempt to fix the situation. To make things worse, after we had only been eating for about 10 minutes, Ana immediately asked if we wanted togo boxes, which made us feel rushed out. While talking to the tables next to us, they mentioned that Ana had been very attentive to them, which made the experience feel even more frustrating because our table was clearly being neglected. Overall, this was one of the worst dining experiences I've had. Basic service requests were ignored, food quality was unacceptable (a hair in the salad), and there was little to no accountability from staff or management. Very disappointed. What's not to like about a Roadhouse? I'm always a fan of their bread and coconut butter. This location is relatively new and the ambience is in line with any Texas roadhouse. The staff are super friendly and extremely efficient. I always like to order the New York strip with corn and rice as sides. The staff make an appointment to ensure that your order is your liking, and will always make a change if needed. Not a big fan of their margaritas. It's mostly flavorings, sugar syrup with a lot of ice and a dash of alcohol. Pricing: Moderate Will I return? : For sure! read more

I have never been here, or to an Outback and there is something about that big fried blooming onion that I really needed to try. Meh, in hindsight, I guess I'm glad it is off my bucket list, but I don't need to have it again. Give me a hand-made battered onion ring at a mom & pop any day over this. For an entree, we got (to split) the steak tips (with mashed potatoes and one of their famous "loaded" sweet potatoes.) For me, the star of the show (and what I would order if I ever go back) is that damned loaded sweet potato. Loaded with butter and cinnamon and nice (almost burnt) mini marshmallows on top. DELICIOUS. Service is fine. It IS loud in here, and consistently interrupted with screaming birthday announcements. TLDR: FOOD POISONING WARNING!!! Was excited to have some chicken and potatoes as my final meal before having to prep for a procedure. We had good experiences at the BEDFORD location and assumed this would be fine since we were in the area. We could not have been more wrong. First, the chicken was absolutely burnt to a crisp. I took the liberty of checking other's plates as we exited and it seems I was not alone with charred chicken. Second, the potatoes were far too seasoned with black pepper. Additionally, our waitress did not seem to care to be attentive. The manager made an introduction but truly she did not actually stop to ask us how our meal was going, it seemed she was making an appearance out if expectation without actually acknowledging her customers. Honestly don't understand what the point of that was? She obviously didn't have time to stop and listen. But the most egregious item was THEY GAVE MY PARTNER FOOD POISONING! He woke up in the middle of the night absolutely puking his guts out. We were supposed to have a full day of activities today and it's absolutely ruined because this location seems to not care about how it handles food. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. Poor hostess experience for chevk in. Time to be seated was estimated at 15-25 minutes, but actual time was 45 minutes. We checked in with hostess, provided text number, and waited while everyone else was seated. When we talked to manager, we received unexpected response that we didn't check in. We actually did talk to hostess. The manager said afterwards we needed to tell the hostess we were at the location again. He didn't understand. Manager offered a free appetizer which we declined. Food was good. Waiter provided reasonable service. Unfortunately the manager and hostess need a better process for guests who get on waitlist in person. Well if you are in Texas, you must at least try Texas Roadhouse once. I'm so glad my friend warned me to put myself in waiting list on their website. It's such a long wait if we don't. We waited for 20 minutes, with total of 40mins because we had to drive there, so we technically saved some time. So don't forget to put yourself in the waitlist. Everyone was right about the rolls! They were warm and fluffy! Paired with the cinnamon butter. I'm not a huge fan of cinnamon but this is the one! We ordered 2 baskets! And took some of it home and stuff tasted fresh. We got the ribeyes, and their price were very reasonable. We both got medium, but it ended up kinda of raw, but I'm okay with mine, and my husband had to get it cooked a little more. The server had the best service and he was so great to talk to. 10/10 for his service! The whole places were decorated with neon lights and bar scene. Also very Texas vibe. They also offer an online waitlist option where you can check the wait time and add yourself to the waitlist prior to your arrival. THE BREAD WAS DELICIOUS!! It was so soft and buttery. They offer 2 types of butter - I recommend trying both! The food did take a little long to come out but it might've been because they were busy. The meats come with 2 sides. The portions are huge and filling. You can smother your steak in mushrooms and onions for an additional charge. The food was overall all a little salty but nonetheless, they were all delicious.
