Here's my review.  initially had a good experience with Aspen Dental, however that changed once I paid my bill. I spent over $8,000 at Aspen Dental in Dawsonville, GA for dentures with what they called a seven-year "warranty." In reality, that warranty is so restricted it's almost worthless. They advertise "Emergency, we've got you covered," but that claim is completely misleading. My dentures--still under warranty--snapped clean in half on a Sunday morning. When I called, there was no help, no guidance, just a generic recording basically telling me to call 911 for emergencies. That's not emergency dental care--that's passing the buck. I had an important public engagement the next day and was left completely on my own. No options, no support, nothing. After spending thousands of dollars, I ended up trying to piece my dentures back together myself just to be presentable. That's unacceptable. It gets worse. When I contacted another Aspen Dental office in Cornelia, GA, I was told my warranty only applies to the original Dawsonville location. So despite being a large national chain, they don't stand behind their work across locations. If you move or aren't near that one office, your "warranty" is effectively useless. From the beginning, these dentures have been a problem. After months of discomfort and adjustments, I was finally told my bone structure was too thin for proper implant placement--something they somehow didn't mention until after the procedures, the payments, and months of issues. That should have been addressed before any work was done. Between the misleading advertising, lack of emergency support, restrictive warranty, and ongoing problems with the dentures themselves, this has been one of the most frustrating and disappointing experiences I've ever had with a healthcare provider. I had a tooth extracted at their office yesterday and was prescribed IBUPROFEN for pain. I didn't think anything of it but once my mouth wasn't numb anymore the pain kept getting worse. I found several cuts inside my mouth on my cheek, tongue, and gums from the extraction and the stitches were throbbing so I called the office for help with the pain and they told me the doctor was now out of town for a week so they couldn't help me anymore. She offered over the counter pain killers. I'm sorry but I believe a doctor should be able to be reached about a patient they just operated on the day before, or someone should be able to help the patient otherwise. From start to finish Aspen Dental in Dawsonville provided excellent attention and service. All the staff, attendants, technicians, and doctors gave me full attention, and professional care. The appointment was thorough and timely. I did not have to wait, and each part of my exam moved quickly. The doctor and hygienist wasted no time in describing my dental needs and proposing plans. They explained what was occurring with my teeth so I could understand. Craig, in billing and scheduling, was clear with what insurance and dental plans they took, and even discussed the various advantages and disadvantages of my dental plan and other plans. The service plan with costs was detailed and prepared for me upfront so I could decide if I wanted to proceed. I highly recommend this office. Do not go here, they charge hidden fee's, overcharge for services, and have sent hidden fee's that were not disclosed to collections for me. They handle their business shadily, and are not upfront about their costs. I paid in full for my appointment out of pocket, and they keep trying to tack on more fees weeks later. They also have awful customer service. The billing department is incredibly rude, and blatantly lies about billing. Completely unprofessional. read more

I start off by saying that not all of my experiences with the staff are negative. They don't have a lot of say in the practices that happen. But in my opinion, you are strong armed into having procedures done that aren't really necessary. And if you refuse to do a certain procedure, then you aren't allowed to do any procedures. It's basically, pay me a lot of money or go and that gives them more opportunity to coerce other unsuspecting people to give them more money. WOWZER BOWZER! What a mess! This morning I called the listed number to make an appointment for repair of a chipped tooth. The person on the other end of the line was very upbeat and friendly. He took my information and and upon scheduling my appointment, told me that the Moline, Illinois clinic would see me tomorrow, Thursday May 11, 2023. That surprised me! In fact it shocked me because I called the number listed for a Dawsonville Georgia practice. I had no idea they were part of some sort of dentistry chain. But I pointed out to the scheduler that I live in Dawsonville. We had a laugh and he checked the schedule and told me that they could see me at 11 AM tomorrow. I thought that was great. About four hours later I got a call from a dentist in Iowa saying that she'll see me tomorrow morning at 11. Once again, I explained my location and she gave me an office number 706 265-3191 and suggested I call them directly to confirm my appointment. I called immediately and was placed on hold for about five minutes after which time someone picked up the phone and disconnected me. That prompted me to check the reviews for aspen dental. APPALLING! It seems that they are very assembly line/upsell oriented. Obviously the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I called back and finally got an answering machine and informed them that they would never touch my teeth. Proceed with due caution! read more

People like this should not be able to influence medical decisions or act on them and should be held accountable for doing so poorly and taking advantage of a patients trust for "doctors". This place seems incredibly unethical based on my own personal experience here and the reviews of others. I recommend finding a family dentistry that cares about you and not a soulless corporate office that recommends expensive and unnecessary treatments. Today I went to the dentist for the first time in a VERY long time so obviously I had terrible anxiety... SAVANNAH, ASHLEY, and BRITTANY WERE BEYOND AMAZING!!! Terrible service. Assembly line treatment, I went for a cleaning, allowed them to do the xrays they wanted, they wanted to allow for a $30 fee for cancer screen, I declined . I set the appointment for a cleaning, after over an hour of assembly line treatment, and seeing the hygienist they told me there was nothing needed as far as dentistry work, set me back in the waiting room and escorted me out. I stated that my teeth have not been cleaned yet. I was advised they do not guarantee to do it the same day. I said that is why I came in? She repeated herself. Don't go here. The dentist knocked a perfect beautiful crown out of my mouth. It was the worst experience I've ever had.

I went to get a tooth pulled. I took my wife so that she could get her Dentures looked at and possibly refit. Waited three weeks to get in. Finally as we sat in the waiting room watching a person after person come in and go through to see the dentist. They finally called my wife. Then me. They x-rayed me in about every kind of concoction you can think of. Then they put me in another room where and every bit of 8 months 2 9 months pregnant woman pick at my teeth and look at Me. She said I needed dentures. Well I already figured that just not prepared to pay the price. So she recommended a place down the road that would pull my tooth. And then they sent me in a little waiting room until they had somebody ready to play the money game with me. And then showed me the paperwork for 2000 something to get my teeth pulled and another 6,000 something to get to the chief fitted and put in. Another problem she says will give you 60 months to pay it. They told my wife about the same thing that she could get another set of dentures and oh with just 60 months to pay will it 14 almost 15% interest you were out of your mind. Just out of your mind. Then I have to play cat-and-mouse with him to get the prescription that the over pregnant woman said she would send me for antibiotics. I don't think they ever intended to send them. read more

I went here for dentures, ended up spending a couple of thousand in upsells. When I got the denture it literally looked like Halloween 'hillbilly' teeth. Even my family laughed when they saw them as much as they tried not to. They were so big I couldn't even close my mouth. After getting a refund, which they did give me ( after some arguing the point and trying to convince me that they looked great), they assured me all was well and we could try again later. A couple of years passed, I made an appt. Again all was well, they took me in and started their deal with xrays, cleanings, and all that then the doctor came in and asked if I had received a refund from there previously, when I said yes she threw me out saying that if they hadn't met my expectations in the past they couldn't do so now so I needed to go elsewhere. I'm not difficult to please. I've had 3 different dentures from other places and was always satisfied with those. I assumed that they just had bad luck with my last attempt and was willing to give it another go. But now I figure they did me a favor. Go across the street to affordable dentures and get a decent looking denture for a lot less and without all the high pressure upselling tactics. read more

ASPEN DENTAL in Dawsonville Georgia was as good as it gets if you need dental services! Like going to a spa, I was greeted by "Lauren", a soft spoken and extremely helpful front office employee. She was eager to answer any questions and was a happy, calming voice for all who entered. The office has state-of-the-art equipment, lovely decor, wonderful staff and they were eager to guide me thru the process with explanations of each step. Especially helpful was "Alex" the office manager. She guided me with insurance and cost of procedures which is always an issue that must be addressed, She really helped me understand all items (which I must say were very affordable as compared to other dental offices I have used. They act very professional. Yet, it appears that periodontal disease is the most common diagnosis which entails spending about $1500 up front and $125 per month for the rest of your life. If I had started that treatment, the full mouth treatment would not have been required. According to a government dental. In addition, the cleaning treatment for periodontal disease would have most likely damaged my gums by causing them to detach from my teeth. Therefore, another set of charges to repair the gums. I would never suggest anyone going to Aspen Dental. This is according to their financial/office manager who goes over the cost of dental work required says is part of their learning the "game plan." I watched one of the dental hygenist manually change the 3s to 4s and 4s to 5s, then changing the computer diagnosis (manually also) from low to moderate problem. The dentist after examining my teeth, said very good, no cavities, and keep up whatever you're doing. No problem, one major preventative care I will take is to avoid Aspen Dental. It is just a business to them - how they can make the most! Terrible experience for my daughter. While home from college for the holidays and on limited time we thought we would try the new Aspen Dental office. All we wanted was a cleaning and a check up. During the exam she was told she had Gingivitis and that to do a cleaning would take two appointments, that were not covered by insurance. She had not been experiencing any symptoms of Gingivitis to that point. When she told them she did not have time for that extensive (non insurance covered) option they refused to do the cleaning that she had come in for. Making the trip a huge waste of time. She was trying to coordinate her schedule with her mom via text who was shopping nearby. The office manager later told me she was not "paying attention" Her mother then spoke to the staff who insisted that they could not do the cleaning that she requested and had to do the other. What a crock. We left. My call with the office manager was more of the same. I explained that when I go to the Dr. office for a checkup there maybe stuff I need, but can't do that day, but I still get what I came for. She tried to equate this cleaning for supposed "gingivitis" as like going to the office with a broken arm and not getting it set. She also tried to explain the problem was that there had been "too many hands" in the process. Well, I guess it takes a lot of money to pay all those hands and a trumped up diagnosis of gingivitis makes it easier to hide the costs into more expensive work than is really needed.
