BEWARE: At the time of writing this review 11 of 12 reviews are only 1 star so my experience is not unique. While all the staff is super nice and as helpful as they can be and the facility is clean and pleasant, the only dentist that works at this location is absolutely horrible. I went in experiencing pain and in need of some urgent work done on two teeth to begin with, knowing that there was also some additional work that needed to be done in the near future. But with two kids in college and Christmas in three weeks, doing everything at once was out of the question financially. Since I wasn't able to do everything he was recommending needed to be done, the dentist refused to help me with the two teeth that were causing me pain. Like other reviews, I found his manor to be quite cocky and clearly coming from a place of greed rather than one of actually providing care that fit with what I'm capable of paying for now. To be fair, the manager that booked my appointment told me when booking that the dentist "is focused on comprehensive care" but I didn't think that would mean that he would refuse to do things at a pace that worked for me and my budget so I moved forward with the appointment. My mistake. This negative feedback is however exclusive to this Aspen location in Morton Grove only. I have had a much more reasonable experience at a different location but this office is newer and was much closer to where I live so I made the appointment here. I wish I had checked the reviews first before booking but having had a positive experience at the Algonquin location, it didn't even cross my mind. Again, the entirety of the rest of the staff was lovely but no amount of nice from the rest of the employees can make up for such a poor dentist more interested in making money than providing actual care. I figured I would try the new location. They first called me at 2pm trying to get me to reschedule my appointment at 4pm. To which i asked why do I need two hours. I agreed and asked is it covered by my insurance which they hadn't checked. They called back and said it was covered. I said ok and came in at 4pm instead of 5pm. I should have known when they said two hours it would be a problem visit. I thought when I scheduled a checkup it includes the X-ray and scans. Boy was I wrong. The checkup for a hour is X-rays and a scan of your mouth where they try to sell you retainers whiteners, too the paste, and mouthwash. I'm suprised they didn't try to sell the toothbrush. When I got there they had me wait 15 minutes to even start. I did more X-rays then I have ever done upward to 15 X-rays and a pano scan. Then they take you to do a beauty scan of your teeth. The hygentist came in and looked at my teeth. He shined a bright light in my face to which I asked for the sunglasses because I have light sensitivity. They brought me back clear glasses. Then the doctor came in and tried to sell me a bunch of stuff. I told her I had braces before and don't wear my retainer. She insisted I needed corrections to my teeth because my top teeth are over my bottom teeth more than 50 percent. I told her I am happy with my smile and don't want my teeth on top of each other. After that exam, I spoke to the manager who then tried to sell the mouthwash and tooth paste. After, I got my sunglasses since they said they didn't have any. I went to a bee room for my cleaning. The hygentist handed me glasses to which I said I asked for these earlier. He goes well someone was using them. I told him he could of said that instead of saying they don't have any. He did the cleaning standing up the whole time and very close to my mouth. It was quite strange and uncomfortable. And the doctor never came in to check his work. I will never in my life go back. I called because I had a dental abscess and required emergency treatment. When I arrived, I noted that the sign on the door and the website said free exam and x-rays for new patients if not using insurance. I indicated that I had insurance but none of it it was covered because I had already met my annual maximum. I asked why I was being charged over $200 when it would not be processed through my insurance anyway, and was told by the receptionist (a redheaded male, which I mention only so future patients know he is deceptive and not untrustworthy if they go there) that it would be insurance fraud if they gave me the new patient deal and did not submit a claim despite the fact that my insurance would not cover anything since I reached my annual limit. Obviously, not billing insurance and choosing to pay out of pocket isn't insurance fraud...that's ridiculous. I happen to be a physician so that ridiculous may work on some people less informed about insurance billing practices, but certainly would not work on me. But I was in pain and my face was swelling from the infection so I paid over $200. Then I was taken to get countless x-rays even though I had my recent x-rays sent to them in advance. and after 10 mins I asked why it was necessary to take x-rays of my entire mouth to treat the one tooth and was told they were being done for a complete dental exam and cleaning (which I did not want or need). He said the $200 I paid doesn't even cover the treatment for the infected tooth which was the only reason I was there. At that point I realized the only fraud that was occurring was the unnecessary treatment and imaging they were trying to perform and bill me for. I then decided that their deceptive practices made me want to seek care elsewhere and I requested a refund. I was told that I would not be able to get a refund for the x-rays despite the fact that they were unnecessary, unwanted, and not related to the dental abscess for which I sought treatment. I told him I was leaving and would seek treatment elsewhere and expect a refund. Finally, he asked me if I at least wanted to be treated for the abscess, which is the reason I was there, which would be an additional cost. I told him that I would be leaving and was not interested in any treatment from Aspen Dental and would be leaving given what had occurred and again asked for a refund which he eventually said he would process. I have yet to receive a refund. I highly recommend against considering Aspen dental for any reason. read more

Pathetic and Horrible Customer Service, management and faculty by Aspen Dental Morton Grove. I was not satisfied with my hygiene service and wanted to redo it then their management told me that you don't need the service. And make a new appointment and pay full amount on the day of service; otherwise we don't give you service. My wife and I have been a customer for Aspen Dental Morton grove for many years and we are having Invisalign from them as well and we paid almost $10000 for the entire package but we did not get the good service and we are not satisfied for their service. When the time we started the Invisalign they told us that filling is covered with entire package. But now they are charging for filling which before they told us that will be covered. I requested them to pay in installment but their management refused to take the installment plan and also refused to give service to me. I don't understand that what kind of customer service they are providing. In addition, the doctor who we started seeing her, she left Aspen Clinic in the middle of our service plan and no one informed us that she left clinic and you will be seeing a new doctor. And new doctor don't know how to do the attachment for Invisalign because it's come out right after the attachment and next visit its the same. So it is very frustrating that they are charging $10000 but they are not giving a good service and they treated customers very badly. It seems to me that they don't care about customer service, they only care about money that customer pay for their horrible service. This is about Aspen Dental in Morton Grove IL This place is horrible, owner Dr.Sharma wanted to take tooth #12 & 13 out, money hangry same with all managers. so can convince you to get implants, very rude, doesn't work for the benefit of patient, Dr. Jesus before start check my blood pressure, it's was very high, I told him I am on blood pressure pills, I'm a senior, maybe not good to do this today, he sad don't worry. on Tuesday July 26 manager Rachael Pawlak told to start to do job I need to pay 50% and Trip office manager put on my visa $1000. they order flipper, it's was done on July 28, he told me to come next day Friday July 29, than i feel terrible, can't eat, can't slip, 2 big metal hooks on the flipper, I can't be like this, Dr. Jesus told me on Friday need to check if infection still there do x-ray, check bonds, but hi will be in other office so Dr. Sharma do everything, but she refuse to do anything and told me never come back to my office, find another dentist ("very professional") Tripp (office manager told me to return back $642, but return only $527. It is a bait and switch. They don't charge for the first visit, but they told me I needed about $5,000 worth of work, including deep cleaning, then a series of antibiotic treatments and also a filling. They refused to just give me a regular cleaning. I went to my old dentist (who didn't take my new "discount program") and he said I didn't need anything. Just a regular cleaning. read more

I was happy to see new dental office in Morton Grove and myself and my husband stop by for check out and we end up make appointment for deep cleaning. However deep cleaning wasn't that good and still left brown spot. Also ASPEN dental cost is more than twice higher than any other dentist office. I am not recommend ASPEN dental to anyone. I called to schedule an appointment for a general cleaning. I went in they took x-rays which I gave them my previous dentist information because I just had recent x-rays they told me it was free. Then I got a very long exam when I asked about cleaning they said it would come after. The cleaning never happened. They then took me up to a receptionist who told me my cleaning would cost $994 I asked about Insurance And they said out-of-pocket would cost me $535 out-of-pocket. I do do not have major teeth problems. This is a scam business model. BEWARE!! Even though I just scheduled a cleaning. Which I never received. Id give you a zero if I could. Went for an exam the usual deep cleaning not covered by insurance. Did the X-rays and exam so they could get paid. There assessment was 6300.00 dollars I had to have the deep cleaning etc etc. When I spoke to Rick I wanted to go over my bill that they expected. Charge 30.00 for this cancer test which I signed and said no but on bill, 135 for OralB Tooth brush that I said I already had another 135.00 dollars. When leaving told Rick I have to think about because even though I changed my insurance to my PPO now trying to charge me for things not covered under my insurance. I spent money to upgrade my insurance cause refused to take my HMO which are on their Plan. Im not gonna pay 428.00 for antibiotics if I can get them from my Pharmacy. The way I see it don't need the deep cleaning my insurance wont pay for, or these false charges you added on. Like I said never heard back from Rick with the beard to go over your charges. I had an absolutely HORRIBLE experience at the new Aspen Dental in Morton Grove today. My appointment was just supposed to be for a check-up and a cleaning. My radar started to go off when the dental assistant told me that she was going to do a "beauty scan" of my teeth, which is basically a 3-D image of my smile. After that, the dental hygienist came in and looked at my teeth. He gave me his input on my overall oral health and some good recommendations that I agreed with and then asked me if I would like my cleaning done today, which I was thought was weird because that was the whole point of this visit. He then proceeded to tell me that the dentist would be coming in to examine my teeth. Basically, all that the dentist did was look at that 3-D image of my smile and try to sell me Invisalign on my first visit as a new patient (I must add that I'm 34 and had braces when I was younger. My teeth are pretty damn straight!). After that she walked me back to the front desk to speak to a "treatment coordinator" who tried to bill me over $4000 for the Invisalign. I told him I wasn't interested and I was here for a cleaning. After he removed the Invisalign from my bill the new price of my visit came down to $748. I asked how could a cleaning and exam be that expensive. He showed me a breakdown of the bill which included an electronic toothbrush for $39, an oral cancer screening, sensitivity paste for my teeth, toothpaste, and mouthwash. I didn't ask for any of these! I wasn't offered any of these. And I certainly wasn't told I would be billed for them! I told them to take everything off EXCEPT FOR the cleaning. After that my bill came down to $59 (I should have ran out the door at that point). I paid the $59, finally had my cleaning, and about ran out the door after I was done. What a scam! They wasted my time (was there for 2 hours) and lost a potential returning 1st time customer. Needless to say I will not be returning! read more
