Scheduling, dental assistants were all amazing... so sweet, helpful and genuinely caring. Dentist was nice, but rather than looking into making adjustments to my dentures the first thing out of her mouth was that I needed to replace the ones I paid $4,000 for in December of 2022. I told her absolutely not and asked if there were any adjustments that can be done (lower is rubbing a sore on my gum) she told me she would have to talk to her lab and was gone for 15 minutes. She returned with the office manager carrying what looked like an essay and by that time I was done with them. I asked them how much I owed them, not sure if they charged my insurance or just wanted to get rid of me but said I didnt owe anything. I'm a new patient with aspen dental. I came in for a toothache and left with a full treatment plan. The office staff is very friendly and I am always greeted by name with Joss at the front desk. She is always smiling and so nice during check in and check out. The hygienist is amazing! She talks to you in a way that helps you understand the course of treatment and why. Dr. Mathiyazhagan also came in and went over the plan with me . Julie is heaven sent ! There is another assist who helped me both times that talked to me about books before my treatment . I am always anxious when I visit the dentist but this team helped with that amazingly! I will forever recommend this practice for anyone looking for a dental office . My only issue is the time management . I waited a long time after my appointment time for treatment. read more

Well, after reaching out to Aspen Dental's corporate office, feeling more disappointed than I was before. Basically was told that because of my job and the way I travel, there's nothing that I can do until I get back home , hopefully next month. So just have to walk around with missing teeth in new implant dentures until then. This is a procedure that I don't advise anyone that travels like I do to have done. I have insurance, which they billed incorrectly generating a bill for me, however when I would go into the office for cleaning they said I had no bill. Yesterday I received a letter in the mail from a debt collector saying that I owed Aspen Dental over $1000 dollars. If you can travel to a different Aspen Dental in San Antonio, I'd highly recommend it. This place is awful. The receptionist rescheduled my appointment since the doctor was not present, claiming she attempted to contact me (she did not). I come in for the rescheduled appointment and she claims she called me AGAIN since the doctor was not present in the office again. She claimed my mailbox was full. It was not. She then insinuates that they might not even be able to do the scheduled cleaning due to the doctor not being present. Once they begrudgingly decided to see me, the doctor magically appeared to do an exam (I thought there was no doctor present). They were nice but all were standoffish and left me alone in the room with no guidance as to what is next for 5-10 minutes at a time. They also finally called my number once I was getting my exam done and it clearly comes up as Aspen Dental. This is the first time anyone has actually called me from that clinic. I had to sit in the waiting room, waiting for the office manager to schedule appointments for fillings for almost 20 minutes. When we passed their office, they were just talking to the receptionist and hygienist (which I am aware could be work talk but having to wait 15-20 minutes for every step is annoying because it will take all of 5 minutes). Once I finally saw the OM, she was completely unprepared and didn't have the treatment plan and expected me to wait through multiple other patients so she could get it despite it all being in front of her on my patient file online. I will be trying to see if the x rays done here can transfer to another Aspen Dental because if every appointment is going to be like this, it's a waste of my time. read more

This is the worst experience I've had a dentist office. First of all I had an appointment and it ran over 45 minutes late and the whole appointment lasted over 2 hours!! I went for a routine check up and a cleaning. They did so many X-rays and a 3-D scan and I never receive a cleaning, which is why I went in the first place.They were trying to sell me so many procedures costing over $6,000! They refused to do a cleaning unless I got an expensive deep cleaning which I didn't want. I will never use Aspen Dental ever again. It was a HUGE waste of my time. I've gone to the dentist regularly and have gotten my regular cleanings and everything they told me I needed at Aspen Dental has NEVER been mentioned by any other dentist I've ever seen. Wish I could give zero stars. Came in for tooth pain due to an infection. They knew I was there for a quick review and medication to assist me until I was able to make my regular dentist which I am going to in 2 days. After making me do numerous X-rays and gum line measurements the doctor came in and said she saw things that could be caused by infection however no clear abscess and was unable to comfortably prescribe me medication. After she gave me the news I explained the sensation I am feeling and how it reminds me of every tooth infection I've ever had. I also asked her if the mouthwash she gave me is going to provide comfort as I feel the pressure building and don't have any relief. She stated I was threatening her and asked me to leave without offering any prescriptions now at all. She literally directed me to the door when I was literally in a chair asking questions. Should have reviewed their reviews prior to coming in. Looks like it coulda saved me a bunch of time and a horrible experience. Glad my dentist is able to get me in soon. read more

However I've gone to 4 different dentist since moving here and have not been pleased with any of them. That was until Aspen Dental. I've been going to this location for two years. On my first visit I went just because my husband's private practice dentist was completely booked. However, I was pleasantly surprised and have made this my regular dental location. The dental hygienest and dentist are always professional. They always start right on time. It is spotless and I believe they keep up to date with new technology. Since 08/2021 it has been an ongoing nightmare at Aspen Dental at the Forum...to say the least. 1. Several extended wait times (over 45 min) to be seen and for anesthesia to set in; despite being scheduled when office opened. 2. Cancellation of appointment upon arrival due to no prior staff advisement of what to bring for follow-up appointment(s). 3. Inaccurate information received regarding initial and orthodontic treatment costs; to include how financing options are applied to account. 4. Despite approved financing, Billed for orthodontic services in 09/2021 and office staff did not assist until issue was 'escalated' to upper management this past June. Account is in collections. 5. Lack of follow-up on status update even after Aspen financial consultant escalated issue. Several calls made and emails sent to upper management for a whole month. 6. In July, went to office for assistance to correct. Was advised office did not apply full amount of approved financing and would request correction from Care Credit financing company. 7. Weeks later, escalated issue still unresolved. Office manager stated they had High staff turnover, admitted information and proper patient documentation was not signed regarding treatment plan so they would assist in resolving account issue. 8. A month later, matter is still unresolved and treatment for orthodontic services started in 09/2021 are irrelevant now and will have to be restarted. ***If you want a professional and honest dental experience, do not select Aspen Dental at the Forum as an option.*** read more

The oral surgeon, Dr nagella is a butcher!! He didn't pull my teeth, he ripped them out leaving lots of issues behind. Having bone issues and gums that aren't healing together. Staff in the office are nice but have no customer service abilities whatsoever. They leave you sitting in a back office for 45 minutes with no communication... They don't care. Totally Unacceptable. Nobody is proactive and they have no respect for their patients. We had a root canal set up for my son 2 weeks ago. Alyssa (office manager) called the week prior saying they forgot to add 2 codes in the quote. Those 2 codes were for the root canal. Please tell me how you can forget to add the 2 codes that a patient is coming in for?? We cancelled then appointment and asked for a refund on the 11th and Alyssa stated it will take 7 - 10 business days for the refund. Here we are March 26th, 12 business days later and no refund. We call, get put on hold for 20 minutes and get the run around. Alyssa never comes to the phone to speak to us about our account. We get told the refund was processed on the 12th and all they can do is send us a email when it's been posted to our account. I think we will know when we check our account if it's there or not. I was told that they do not actually issue the refunds out just that they send it off. I asked for a number to speak to them but yet no number. They do help you with your problems. Just told us to continue waiting. Well we have waited the amount of days we were told to wait and still have not received anything!!!! read more

Hello, My husband and I both had appointments Aspen Dental location in Selma, TX. We were both very disappointed with the service we received. Specifically: 1. The wait time was over an hour factoring in waiting between my husband's x rays and seeing the dentist. 2. The staff appeared to be counting the minutes until the office closed. No one smiled or was friendly at all. 3. The assistant doing the x rays continually caused my husband to gag and would not stop trying to insert the x ray while he almost vomited. He had to request several times for her to wait a moment while he was trying to control the gag reflex. 4. The dentist did not seem interested in answering his questions regarding her recommended course of treatment which included pulling 4 of his teeth. He came in with a problem with 1 tooth. 5. The dentist neglected to give him a prescription for antibiotics and we had to return to get the written prescription. 6. The prescription was written incorrectly and could not be filled. She prescribed an 800 mg amoxicillian pill and there is no 800 mg amoxicillian pill. We will have to wait until Monday to get it corrected which jeopardizes his health. 7. My appointment was for a consultation about possibly replacing my dentures with some of flexilite type that you offer. I was also hoping to get a minor adjustment done on the lower partial. When I was called in they wanted me to take x rays. I informed the assistant that I did not want any x rays, that this was a consult only, mostly to find out if my insurance covered them and what my cost would be. I also told her that I had had a brain tumor and I did not want to x rayed any more than necessary. Given the fact that I may not have had the replacement done at all, until I found out the cost, x rays were not called for at this time. All I wanted was information. I was then told by another person there that unless they did they x ray I could not been seen because my insurance probably would not pay at all unless x rays were done. I highly doubt this and will be contacting United Concordia about this as well. So I declined again. This told me that Aspen was way more interested in charging my insurance company for a visit and x rays than being concerned for a potential health risk for me and a potential big profit for Aspen if I had been given the option to proceed with replacing my dentures. In closing, I chose Aspen Dental based on seeing your commercials. In our opinion your office was closer to the "bad dental office" that was portrayed in your ads. read more

To give this place a 1/5 stars is being generous. First of all my appointment for a check-up was set at 11:00 AM. I was instructed to arrive 15 minutes early to fill out paperwork so I did so (which didn't take long because I filled most of what I could online). I didn't get called back until 11:30! I got called back, by a technician, and did a panorex (xray) and then another series of xrays with the mouth pieces. Then I got sat in the exam room and they did scan of my teeth with this new device they got (this was actually pretty cool). Then at about 12:10 the technician left the room and said the hygienist would be in shortly. The hygienist did not come into the room until about 12:45. Then the hygienist comes in and says she's going to exam my teeth and take some measurements and discuss what type of cleaning would be most beneficial for me. After she was finished she said that the doctor would come in and talk to me about my teeth. I asked her if she was going to do a clean and she said if she had time she could fit me in, but most likely not because she was pretty booked for cleanings today. She said I could schedule another appointment for a clean. The doctor comes in and I asked what type of appointment is this because I've been to plenty of other dental offices and it's pretty standard that the check-up appointments comes with xrays, cleaning, and then the doctor comes in to see you and discusses anything further. She said at Aspen Dental they do things differently. First time patients come in for a "comprehensive" exam and then if they have time they also do a clean if not you have to schedule another appointment for a clean. She also went on to say that the other dental offices I have previously been to probably don't do a "comprehensive" exam like they do. She continued to say that the other dental offices only look at problem areas and then do a clean and that's why they can fit it all into one appointment. I immediately corrected her and told her that every dental office I have been to has done a complete exam to include: panorex, other xrays, cleaning, and seeing the doctor. After I said that she had nothing else to say. I let her finish her exam with me and she recommended I get my wisdom teeth extracted and I told her that I actually wanted to get a referral today so I can proceed with doing so because I already had that in mind. She said she can refer me to the oral surgeon that comes Aspen Dental twice a month. I politely told her I already had an oral surgeon in mind and asked if she could write the referral for the place I had already chosen. She, verbatimly, said "why didn't you just go there instead of coming here first?". I said because the type of insurance I have I need to get a referral from a dental office first or I would have just gone there. She then went on to say she doesn't know if she can refer me to the oral surgeon I had in mind but she can try. In the end, I was able to get the referral so I was satisfied with that. What I wasn't satisfied with is that I spent 2.5 hours at the dental office and didn't get a clean. I think it's a waste of time to have to come in for xrays and to see a doctor and then schedule another appointment for a clean. Every other dental office I have been to was able to do all that in about an hour and it was all in one appointment on top of that! The way this dental office is ran is unorganized and they do not care about their patients wishes. I felt like I had to fight for my referral to the oral surgeon of my choice. I feel like the doctor had no idea about insurance and having to get a referral first. She was acting like I was speaking a foreign language. Also, I found it utterly rude to say "why didn't you just go there first?". If I had the option of going there first, without a referral, don't you think I would've done that?!?! Also, the time I spent there was such a waste. What is the point of making an appointment if they didn't even see me at the time I actually scheduled for AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF I was there for 2.5 hours and you're going to tell me there wasn't enough time to do a clean!!!! Pathetic. I will NOT being going back. This is just a warning for those who want to go here. You might as well schedule your check-up appointment and cleaning appointment on separate days because they won't be fitting it all in one lol. read more
