Shotty work, worst I have seen in a dentist office. they couldn't even write a referral correctly so my insurance denied it, my insurance company said it was a simple fix they could rewrite it... They refused and passed on that extra $1,000 to me because they didn't want to take the time to rewrite it as advised. They screwed up my temporaries, said they were going to redo them and just dropped the ball. So I have no temporaries I have no partials. I look much worse than I did when I walked in and we've paid almost $4,000. When I go in and ask for an explanation they just look at me blank.. they say nothing... And all the employees in the office come out and look at us with no words, they're really a trip. Beware beware they start with a smile and then take your money!!! read more

I just moved to Surprise AZ and wanted to find a dentist. I called and specifically said I wanted my teeth cleaned and routine checkup. I got a bunch of "fancy" images and X-ray type stuff and was left waiting......is someone going to clean and polish my teeth? Nope! This Office is magical. If you have dental anxiety-COME HERE! These people made me feel heard, safe, comfortable, & were ALL genuinely interested in making sure I understood everything being communicated. Everyone was very informative and kind. Everyone!- the Receptionists, the X-Ray Tech, The Financing Consultant, the Dentist, every single Assistant.. this office is just truly client oriented. When I got there, I was greeted promptly and seen rather quickly. Staff was so friendly and explained the process in detail. My dental situation was embarrassing to me, but they made me feel better about it. I got everything taken care of without a single issue. Corporate motto is "Judgement Free Care", when I told the dentist that I had my crowns done in Mexico, she turned up her nose and made it clear she did not approve. One of my crowns had come off, and I simply needed it reglued. Since I have to work I had used an over the counter recap paste. She then proceeded to tell me they couldn't reglue because of the clove in the product. I explained that their permanent dentist had reglued another crown without hesitation and then to make matters worse she began to put down their permanent dentist, who happened to be out on maternity leave, explaining she was older and knew more. Aspen Dental is the WORST EXPERIENCE coming to that facility. For months, I'd been coming there on my appointments and after in done, I checked with the front desk to make sure if I had any payments for me to pay right there and was told no. Weeks and months later, Aspen Dental kept sending me numerous emails and mails of bills coming and was forced for me to pay. My insurance company told me it's the company (billing manager)who are messing up my payments. Came back on my next appointment and the front desk told me I had more payments. Service was in October 2023. I came to Aspen to replace my lower arch denture. Aspen had done my dentures 5+ years prior. I'd opted for their most expensive option they call ComfiLites. Over the years my lower arch had to be repaired multiple times, It kept breaking in half and so, it was undependable and would break at the worst times. My dental insurance allows me to replace every 5 years covered in full with a $2000 limit. I returned to Aspen, and sat with their rep, she reviewed my insurance to verify the coverages, called me the next day to assure me I was covered for the procedure, and made the appointment. Result: The new denture fits horribly, not even close to the original, and after multiple return trips, I'm being told to live with it. On top of that they have been sending me a billing for $660 for what they are calling an Üpgrade" when I had been promised my insurance would cover this in full. read more

This location is terrible. They are predatory from a financial perspective. Took my daughter in for an emergency extraction and while she was out back they were pressuring her for a 15,000 dollar high interest loan. Thank god she was turned down. I only found out when she asked me to co-sign. These people are dangerous and should be investigated. They told my daughter she needed a root canal on a tooth that had already had one. My daughter is 23 years old and in a lot of pain. These people exploited that...she was in tears from the high pressure sales tactics. I am furious! Stay away from this place. read more

I went to Aspen dental 2 yrs ago and I regret it every day, I won't hardly leave my house. I'm so insecure now and I hate that I trusted them. Every time I would go in for a fitting I would get a diff doc so there was no Continuity of care, when I told them that I didn't like that that I just wanted one dentist I would have to wait weeks or even a month to see the same doc. They never did get my dentures fitted right (they also made them the wrong color) when they finally (after a year) made me new dentures (they made me sign a paper before they made them stating that I would have to except the next dentures no matter what) when I put them in they didn't sit in my mouth "AT ALL" they wanted me to turn in the dentures that at least sat in mouth (however loose they were) for the dentures that didn't fit in m my mouth, I refused to give them up until I had a pair that fit. I called the office and no one called me back! Now I barely leave my house Bc they don't fit and I look Ridiculous. If you can go some where else. This has been so hard on me I wanted a good smile for so long and I got a cartoon look of myself I have had so many surgeon Surgeries and I have epilepsy and one of the medicines that they gave you for my seizures destroyed my teeth I finally had a chance to fix them and Aspen dental destroyed that. it was a dream of mine to get them fixed only to have it crosse crushed and it was very expensive too. Anastasia is great and go for that reason only. The front office has a real problem and would not recommend for this reason. Had to file complaint with the customer service department yesterday. Real unprofessional and do not listen as far as the front office. Asked to speak with the office manager and got the same attitude from her. They even said if I didn't like all the calls and messages to confirm my my appointment I could go somewhere else. Wife had upper dentures made in the beginning of 2018. The denture never fit correctly even after numerous adjustments and numerous relines. The 7 year warranty is not worth the paper it's printed on. The dentist suggested using more denture adhesive which caused possible zinc poisoning and to see an ear nose throat doctor for treatment. The denture also caused cuts and sores which also had to be treated by other doctors. As of August 2022 Aspen Dental refuses to do anything because they said there's nothing wrong with the denture they just don't fit correctly. The denture never fitted correctly from the beginning! I had been a satisfied customer for the previous two years, but when I showed up for my appointment for a simple cleaning in the third year, I was told by the dental assistant - and by the office manager - that they could not clean my teeth because one of my crowns MIGHT have an underlying condition of infected gums. They would have to remove the crown to find out if, indeed, the gyms were infected to know for sure (at a considerable expense to me). They said that it would be "unethical" to clean my teeth without the removal of my crown. I have since been using another dentist, and - interesting - they have found no suggestion of infected gums whatsoever, and they cleaned my teeth without incident. Don't walk away, RUN! I've been meaning to post something about Aspen since both my wife and I went there last year after moving to AZ. During our first visit they weren't able to perform our typical 6 month cleaning since they had to first verify our insurance coverage - instead they just did a thorough exam. They tell us that we need deep cleanings due to early stage periodontal disease; an expensive process. My wife and I compared notes after our visit and discovered we were told the exact same thing. We found this surprising since it was the first time a dentist mentioned periodontal disease to either of us and we've each had regular 6 month cleanings and checkups for the past 50 odd years! Needless to say, we chose to go to a different practice and the dentist there did not agree with the diagnosis from Aspen. We've come to find out the Aspen's reputation is abhorred- everyone we've spoken to says the same thing - they'll do anything to make a buck; unnecessary procedures, misdiagnose, even downright lie to patients. Other dental offices are fully aware of Aspen Dental and their corrupt practices. Run from this place! read more

The front desk person made a mistake with booking the oral surgeon for a wisdom tooth removal and anesthesia. So they booked another appointment for a few weeks later. They texted to confirm the appointment, but a second later, they call to cancel. Seriously? They cannot get their office procedures straight. Very disorganized and no consideration given to a person who has to rearrange his working schedule 3 TIMES to accommodate tooth removal with anesthesia and recovery. I went in to Apsen Dental after years of avoiding dentist due to never truly knowing their fre schedules or insurance randomly claiming a procedure isn't covered after saying it was before it began. They were amazing, friendly, helpful, and honest. They worked with me and my situation. At Apsen Dental the website breaks down the pricing and options fairly well, allowing me to have a fairly accurate out of pocket estimate before I even went in. While in my first appointment I was taken care of in a friendly manner and none of my questions went unanswered. At the end we sat down and went over the treatment plan. I was able to prioritize what I wanted and schedule around what worked for me financially. Dentistry is an expensive thing, one cannot expect to go into somewhere where they practice medical procedures and not expect prices that cover not only the employee cost, material cost, overhead, training, and insurance to not be comparable. Aspen Dental is the first place I have been to that the prices you see are close to the secret prices insurance companies negotiate with other dentists. I would rather pay out of pocket to Aspen Dental than deal with another company and dentist working together to still charge me 60$ more for an extraction. An extraction that out of pocket would have been over 300$ through them. Aspen Dental simple extraction starts around $125. The only drawback to paying out of pocket is that they don't pay a share. What, 20% for the first year? 20% that they negotiated with their "preferred network" to have those dentist set their "standard" fees a bit higher and have a "lower"(but what they really would have charged) fee schedule for those paying this nobody third party RIP everyone off insurance scam company. No, just go to aspen Dental, take the 40+ you send to insurance and save it, take care of the teeth you have, and get Aspen Dental to take care of them before they go too bad, and if they are bad, well aspen Dental will at least ease the pain as much as they can and help you through it. And you'll probably save money. And of you do have insurance (especially an loyalty 3 year version where it actually does take care of you.) Then they work with those too, and you'll probably be happy you did. read more

Everyone at this location is very friendly and tentative to your issues. Doctor Chan was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail and was very patient with my questions. The hygienist was also very friendly and knowledgeable. I never felt like I was being scammed for money and these were genuine issues that need to be corrected. Very frustrating experience with Aspen dental when I went in for my exam they staff didn't seem like they had time for me as a patient. They were very rushed and told me things that made no sense. When I scheduled my root canal I had to cancel once due to not having the funds all together once I scheduled a new appointment when I had my funds together for the root canal I was all set and ready to go and they called and canceled the night before I was supposed to go in. This is the worst Aspen Dental I have ever been to. I would give zero stars if I could. I used to go to the one on 28th ave and Peoria, but we moved to Surprise, so I transferred to this one. Big mistake. I made an appointment in 2021 due to some pain (slight, very little pain). They informed me I needed to wear a mouth guard due to teeth grinding. They also informed me, I had the start of a little gingivitis, so I had a treatment for that. I had an appointment where they treated the little area. A day or two later I had the most excruciating pain I have EVER experienced. I could not sleep, eat, lay down. The whole left side of my face was in so much pain, almost nerve pain. I was taking tylonel/iburpofen back-to-back. I even had some pain pills left over from a surgery i had a while back. It did not even touch the pain. I went back for a follow up. I informed the Dentist of the pain and how much medication I had been taking with no relief. She didn't do any X-Rays or anything, she basically just told me it was probably inflammation from the cleaning and put me on a Steroid. I started the Steroid, again, no relief at all. I ended up going to an Urgent Care because I could not bare the pain any longer. Turns out I had an infection. The Urgent Care prescribed me antibiotics and a pain med just for a couple days worth. Low and behold, the pain went away within a couple days! I have never been back to this Aspen Dental. Sadly, I haven't even been back to a Dentist since because of the pain I went through. I finally found a new Dentist that I will be going to in a week. Stay clear of this place. I feel if they would have done a little more when I told them about my pain and taking so much medicine back-to-back, they would have found out it was an infection. read more

I went to aspen dental because I had an emergency involving 3 infected wisdom teeth. On my initial visit my brand new rayban sunglasses was knocked on the floor by the xray tech breaking the lenses. I was assured by the dentist and office manager it would be taken care of.  It would be four weeks until I could get the teeth extracted. On my paperwork for the oral surgeon I let them know I have a mild bleeding disorder,  von willebrand disease. If the surgeon needed me to get tested while I waited for my surgery I said please let me know. Aspen Dental said ok, don't worry. I also paid for the surgery out of pocket on my credit card. When I arrived for my visit on November 30th I waited over an hour to see the surgeon, Dr Fryeberg. When he entered and looking at my chart he was perturbed that I had von willebrand and wanted me to get tested before surgery.  He refused to operate on me.  Confused and in pain I was rushed out of the office with only a half hearted apology from the front staff. Why had the doctor not seen my chart prior to my surgery?  Why had not any staff have noticed this? They had over three weeks to have me get tested yet none of them had read my chart. A week later I called aspen dental to ask the dentist prescribe more antibiotics for my teeth. I was told over the phone that they would no longer be assisting me and directed me to contact a different dental practice. I asked that the $1100 I already paid out of pocket be refunded.  Note my infected teeth hurt so much I had to make a 2 am visit to the ER for pain management and a boost of antibiotics. The bill for this was $2200. Medicare paid everything but $71. The new office was wonderful. The doctor and staff were amazing and able to fit me in on the 21st of December after I got my bloodwork done. Here's the problem because of aspen dentals mistake with my paperwork I would end up waiting another 20 days in pain and anxiety. Also my surgery would only be about 3 days before Christmas thus keeping me in bed and missing the festivities with my family. Also, aspen dental contacted me the day after my surgery and said now they would refund my initial payment made back in early November.  Why did this office wait to refund me until the surgery was over from a different office?  I am confused by this. They basically paid themselves with my money and I received no treatment in exchange? So now, yes I am healthy and feel great from being served from a top notch surgeon not from Aspen.  However, i am still awaiting $51 for the broken lenses to my glasses. They won't respond to my emails. I also want to be reimbursed $71 I owe the local hospital. There's not much I can do but I will fight for the $121 owed me out of principal. Most of all these I feel neglected and the pain I had to endure from their mistakes was traumatic. Overall December was a nightmare. Here are the people I dealt with... The dentist walked in briefly and said my daughter had a "couple of cavities" and when I asked which teeth, the dentist wouldn't look at me and said the office staff will go over the details. The office manager said my daughter had 7 cavities! 6 months earlier she had 0. I had to change dentist because she recently turned 13. The office manager had no empathy when I was speechless and told me "it happens" and provided my out of pocket amount and was pushy about scheduling. My daughter had a second opinion 2 days later and it turns out she still has ZERO cavities. They also told me I needed a root canal. Saw the root canal specialists who said I did not need one. Financial ripoff- This review is strictly based on the financial billing office staff. Dr. Chan provided good service. I went in for a broken tooth and needed a crown. They told me normally they will not schedule any service until you pay half up front, but because they could not verify my insurance they went ahead and made the appointment. For the 2nd appointment they started the temp crown and had me assessed for a cleaning. They said I needed a $1000 cleaning not just routine. I advised I did not want to get that cleaning because I did not feel I needed it. They also wanted me to pay for the service but still did not call my insurance so I told them no. A few days later they called and asked if I wanted to come in early because my crown came in early and the dentist could see me early. I did, they called me back and said they needed to collect my copay of $650 before I got the crown. I paid and then waited until my regular appt time to be seen. I felt like they lied to get me in there. I felt totally bullied on their financial practice. I got my insurance and per their responsibility I have over paid by more than $200 and Aspen is still trying to bill me $156.00. I have called 3x to get a refund and sent them a copy of my EOB and they keep giving me the run around saying it has been resubmitted and then it has not been resubmitted and that I signed saying I would pay whatever the insurance did not. This is a preferred provider so they should be writing it off. They also refused to fill cavities because I would not get their 1k cleaning first "it was in my treatment plan" Thank goodness I found a wonderful dentist who said I did not need that $1000 cleaning, took some free xrays because of course Aspen got the money for the million xrays they did and I am now on my 2nd appointment with them to get service the fillings. So glad Aspen refused to treat me so I could find a great dentist office. read more

Went here for tooth pain and received the free exam and X-rays. The wait was not long. Waiting room was very clean. The X-ray tech was very nice and made that as comfortable as possible (I hate X-rays). Dental assistant came in and explained everything they were going to do and then doctor came in to finish off visit. I was very pleased with the whole experience and my husband is going soon for his exam. I didn't need any major work done but will definitely be going back if I ever do. read more

For about three years, this was my dental office and for the first two, they were awesome. They kind nice upfront staff that was amazing for dental let alone health office. Now it is a typical health office. In the last year the office changed and it is now terrible. My last cleaning was canceled because I couldn't call during the work day to confirm it.
