I have had an undeveloped rural lot near Leander for almost 20 years. Over the years the space between my lot and the adjacent public road turned into about a five foot ditch due to water erosion. This ditch made my lot inaccessible by anything not a tracked vehicle. After several years of procrastination my wife and I decided we needed to bite the bullet and get a driveway installed. Initially I called three paving contractors to ask for site visits and provide estimates, including another contractor who had done other work for me in the past. One never showed up, the one I had used in the past showed up and is a nice guy. I asked if he would help with permitting and was told to 'just don't worry about that'. He never sent me an estimate. Owner Gene Williams came out promptly and spent a lot of time discussing the project and describing how he would approach the job. He was glad to help with permitting and promptly provided a written estimate. I applied for a permit from the county. I had to provide a number of design drawings and technical information with the permit application. Gene quickly provided answers to my questions and provided design drawings. The permitting process went smoothly, Our 'pre-pour' and final inspections from the permit agency passed with flying colors. Gene only took a few days to complete the project after our permit was granted. I had recently moved into a new home on a 3 acre lot with no drive or pathways of any sort. Lucky I asked around for help instead of resorting to Google because Gene and his crew were all too happy to save me from parking and walking on mud. He gave me a quick and clean estimate and in no time they started grading the relatively steep slope with a dozer, which took about 4 hours. The next day they began laying out a neat limestone driveway about 10 feet wide by 75 feet long. They rolled it more times than I expected making sure stoned wouldn't be popping up consantly when driving on this path. This all took about 5 hours and was no hassle at all. The next day was sidewalk day and of course that took longer, but it was worth the wait to watch them work. Once the concrete set, they pressure washed the entire sidewalk slab to reveal the pretty aggregate stones beneath. It turned out so beautiful! They also leveled a square of terrain in my backyard for me fairly quickly, dozing up several tree stumps, space for a future project. Would definitely recommend them! read more

I couldn't be happier with the work that Gene Williams and his crew from Asphalt Paving and Maintenance performed. I needed our driveway to be widened and repaved so i looked around for asphalt contractors and found Gene. I called him up and he answered quickly and was very polite and helpful. He even came out to give me an free estimate in Buda, and gave me some helpful planning tips for even if he didn't get the job. He was 3 weeks out from performing my job and said he would call in two week to set it up. He did exactly that! He actually was able to come out earlier that expected. He and his crew did a fantastic job and were very professional and did not leave a mess behind. It seems like these days contractors don't want to work, and are very difficult to get a hold of and communicate with. This is NOT the case with Gene. He wants your business and will do a great job while being accessible. Quality work at a fair and honest price! I'm very happy with the chip and seal work that Gene and crew performed. They engineered the new chip and seal driveways so that the rainwater would run off and with quite a lot of rain lately--this has worked as planned. No more standing water anywhere on my long driveways! Gene explained that some weeds would still come through on the edges, but the weeds are hard to see with the beautiful darker stone. Very honest, he explained how the pricing worked and calculated the cost right up front, which made the experience so much better.
