I've owned a number of properties and have worked with dozens of contractors of all types and I can honestly say that Frank is one of the best I've worked with. Really. I recently bought a house in Woodland hills on a road that is shared by 4 houses (we own the road between us all) - it is also on a non-conforming slope (maybe 20 degrees - it's crazy) that prohibited delivery trucks etc from going up it (they would get stuck and have to call tow trucks). It's a long road and a big job. I was told that other paving companies had tried to adjust it but each failed. I was put in charge of finding a new contractor. I had many companies come up to look at the job and give me bids - all highly reviewed etc. - but something was different about Frank - well many things - he actually cared about the job and about our satisfaction in a very real way. He was able to work within my budget when other contractors could or would not (most giving me outrageous bids and wouldn't budge on price). He explained his recommendations and the entire process thoroughly and with patience - he also came under ALL other bids. He kept constant communication with me before, during and after the job was done. He personally came by the sight throughout the work days to make sure the job was being done right. After the first pass - the slope wasn't quite right and I called Frank - no prob - the next day he came and put 1 more ton of asphalt to fix it without an extra charge. Still it wasn't enough and I called him - without being put out at all he came by the next day - again - with 2 more tons - again no extra charge. Like I said - he actually cared that it was done right. Our drive is now done (except for the slurry coat which we will do soon) - and delivery trucks make it up no problem. When it came to the splitting of the bill (which was actually quite complicated due the the percentage of ownership and overlapping ownerships of the road) Frank was a peach. Never once did he seem aggravated or annoyed, short or put out. He was nothing but happy to make us happy throughout the process. Also - his team is top notch. Most of them have been in the business for many years and knew exactly what they were doing. They worked hard every day - starting early mornings and not finishing till the sun went down - literally. They answered all my questions and accommodated my needs without blinking an eye. Bottom line - Frank and his crew have integrity, work hard, work long, do a GREAT JOB and do it all with a smile. I will continue to use Frank and his crew for any and all maintenance and future jobs as long as I live in the area and would recommend him to anyone without reservation. He gave me the the break down of the different options I could go with as well as the different prices. I did my diligence of getting other bids and Asphalt Paving Company was the best, Of course I had to coordinate with the tenants and Frank as to when all this work could be done, Frank went above and beyond the typical sales ethic, helped me coordinate, print notices out and did an outstanding job on the new asphalt that was installed. I recently had my small driveway paved by asphalt paving surfaces, and was completely satisfied with the entire process. I messaged numerous paving companies through yelp before selecting asphalt paving services. Most either declined to quote my small job (my driveway is only about 15x20), or had outrageously high prices, suggesting again that even those businesses that gave me a quote didn't really want the business. The exception was Asphalt Paving Services. Frank gave me an initial estimate via Yelp, which seemed too good to be true. I arranged for him to come out to my house for a quote, and the written quote was within $50 of the original estimate. I was very impressed, many companies will give you a lowball quote up front and then try to jack up the price later, but Frank stayed on target with our first messages. I was able to schedule a paving appointment about a week later, Asphalt Paving Services was very flexible on schedule and finding a day that worked for me was easy. They showed up on time, worked quickly and professionally, and I had a nice new section of pavement in about 5 hours. They cleaned up everything before leaving, make sure the new asphalt was very well blended with my existing driveway, and even patched a small section at the edge of my driveway that I had damaged while excavating the new section. I would not hesitate to use Asphalt Paving Services again. Fast, Cheap, and Good, it's incredibly rare to find all three in the same place. read more

I had this company come out to give a quote. They were late, BUT they updated via text and calls which made them responsible and courteous! The sales guys that showed up were informative, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions. I had a small area of yard I needed paved for an RV. The area was 12' X 30' and 2 (two) guys spent the entire day leveling, shoveling, digging out old grass and road base to prep for the black top. They BLEW my mind how efficient and quick they were. They started at 8am and by 5pm the job was done. And I do mean DONE! Paved, leveled, and cleaned up! I was so very impressed with their work and their price that I refer them to whomever I come across needing black top. I still need to get it sealed as it has been 3 months, but the price to seal it seemed a little high so I have been procrastinating. read more

We hired Frank for a city permit project on new construction. He was on-time and reliable.

After reading the reviews I thought 'great, I can trust these guys to do a good job' and their bid seemed fair. Well, they aren't reliable whatsoever. Afer never coming on time, often an hour late, they were supposed to start the job yesterday and they then figured out they couldn't get their vehicles up here. The guy, Frank, had already been here twice to assess the job. How is it a professional doesn't assess how vehicles are going to get to the job and park, etc before the crew gets here to start the job. They rescheduled for 8a.m today, I got called by Frank before anyone arrived to say they'd be here at 10.30 or 11 today. Well at 11.20, no-one's arrived. So I called him to cancel because if he's not accountable now, what accountability is there later? For as unprofessional as the experience has been, I'm really mystified at the 5 star reviews. maybe they would have done a great job if I had hired them, but there was only so much abuse I could take. I called them initially and they never called back. A week later I called again and made an appointment for them to meet me at the house. When they did not show up, I called. The person in the office said the guy had been in a car wreck. he would send someone else and call me and let me know what time. Why didn't they call when the first guy was not coming? I waited around for them to call. They didn't and I called back. They said someone would be there in an hour. It was actually about 3 hours, before the second guy came. They did not call me with the estimate. I had to call them. On the day the work was supposed to happen, after they were an hour late, I called. 'They are on their way" Another 2 hours later, "Oh, they got in a car wreck" (are these guys a menace on the road or what?) "but they are coming now" Another hour, I called back "They are waiting at the asphalt plant. I don't know if they can get asphalt." Ok...asphalt is their job and they don't know if they can get it? I told them not to come. DO NOT CALL THESE PEOPLE unless you want to wait around and be lied to! read more
