We have been to 3 different art studios in Irvine before going to Aspire based on a friend's recommendation. We were so happy that we went! When we visited Aspire the first time, we immediately noticed its nice open and inviting space. We also liked how they showcase students' work in the studio. We were greeted by the center director who was very courteous and knowledgeable about teaching art to kids! After the first few lessons, we noticed our 6 years old and 8 years old already learned different art techniques (e.g., sketching, watercolor painting, oil pastel pastel drawing). The teachers would explain the lesson to us by showing us what they did and also give their feedback on our kids' learning progress. We have been so impressed at their professionalism, helpful attitude, and the level of attention they gave to our kids in class. We also have joined their Winter and Spring art camps which offer a variety of art activities (e.g., clay, drawing, painting, digital art, etc.). In addition, we like how Aspire presents any local and national art events and contests as learning opportunities to the students and parents. Recently, one of our kids received the Outstanding Artist Award from IUSD, and her art piece was displayed in the IUSD office! We have been going to Aspire for almost a year, and our kids never complain or want to quit like what they did when they attended the other art studios before. Here is a review from a long time student (I went here as a 9yr old and left when I was 14). I'm now 24yrs old and working in the animation industry: This is an art school that will love and nurture your child's exploration in art. This art school is run by a pair of sisters (Miss Tiffany and Miss Claire), and their staff really takes the time to get to know every single child and foster what they're really passionate about. If you want an environment that will love your child and get to know them as well as providing relevant ways to teach your children (showing them cool art videos during break, having fun activities for them to engage in). I remember when I was little, my mom would enroll me in very sterile, very boring art classes that treated you as if they were sifting through a machine--until we found this place. Aspire art Studios has been growing the last couple of years, and it's because of the passion behind the teachers that run the business and focuses on individualistic learning. If you want a sterile, boring, loveless environment, take your child to Fibo or the Mission Renaissance Fine Art classes. That's where my mom took me as a child and I was bored out of my mind. If you want teachers who are funny, wonderful, smart, engaging, and kind. Take them here. I love Miss Tiffany, and I love her staff for always being funny, smart, and open--like the silly aunts I've never had. My daughter is attending this place almost two years and our home wall decorated with all her art. Wonderful staff members , they work very well with kids. Classroom is calm and cozy yet productive. They have class money and class store to make the kids motivated and progress. Their online website is easy to use , purchase the classes, and see the updates. I highly recommend this program! I've known Mrs Tiffany for over ten years now and she's one of the best (and funniest) art instructors around. My son loves art and really enjoys the summer art camp. They have a new location off the 405 freeway (Sand Canyon exit). They currently have a waiting list, so make sure you sign them up early. My mind is blown... My kids are already pretty creative to begin with, but after ONE class here, they have been creating jaw dropping works of art. Not only are they pumping out little mini master pieces, but they are also getting educated with art history of famous artists as Magritte, Dali, etc... Prior to enrolling my kids here, they were in a terrible IUSD day camp. For two weeks, my kids had to deal with little snot nosed, entitled, pretentious, cliquey, entitled dipsh+ts. Heads up folks, there's a lot of crap parenting in this part of town. Anyway, to focus on the positive, Aspire has inspired my kids to make the world a little more beautiful place, not only with the masterpieces they have been making, but the teachers are down to earth, and their attitudes have been reflecting what their awesome teachers have been teaching. Both of my kids, Siyou and Steve have studied at Aspire Art studio for couple of years. My daughter started when the studio was still in Irvine central drive center. They have many excellent and nice teachers whose background is professional visual arts. Siyou has been studied with Mr. Jessie and Ms. Tiffany for years. They sensed her strength and make her go further. It is not an easy way to explore kids's intrinsic trait comparing with improving their shortcoming. It always a happy time to communicate with the teachers. Tiffany always listen carefully and make adjustment or give valuable suggestion thereafter. My kids are super fans to Aspire. Aspire Art Studios has been my second home for over 10 years - I've been going since I was 7, and it's still the happiest place on earth for me. (Sorry Disneyland) As a child I was always fond of drawing and painting, but going to Aspire Art Studios at such a young age capitalized on my artistic interest and helped me pursue my love of art. Everything I have learned about art, be it rendering realistic objects or mixing two colors has been taught to me at Aspire Art Studios. I had a fantastic experience attending classes at Aspire Art Studios back when they were in a different location from when I was age 15 - 18. It was super fun and going there was often my favorite part of the week when I was a teenager. Before attending classes there, I was interested in art and had always drawn things, but had no idea otherwise how I felt about it and my skills weren't there. The teachers at Aspire are all accomplished and trained artists and really work with their students to advance their drawing and painting ability. The instructors are all immensely passionate about what they do and you can tell that they are teaching there more than it just being a job. Unlike other art classes I had attended before going to Aspire, my teacher, Tiffany, took the interests I already had and encouraged me to pursue them even further. We explored a variety of different mediums and when I had an idea for something, Tiffany would bounce off of it and work with me to make it even better. 5 years later I am an illustrator and just finishing up a bachelor's of arts in Illustration. Aspire Studios helped to develop a passion for art in me and I don't know if I'd be in the same place as I am now if I hadn't attended classes here. So whether your child already is an aspiring artist or just likes art and needs something to do after school, I truly recommend enrolling them in classes here! read more

Aspire Art Studios is awesome for so many reasons. From the age of 10 to the age of 18 (When I began, it was still called Kim Art! I feel old writing this review.), I spent my Saturday mornings drawing and painting with the wonderful art teachers here. Here are several reasons why I love this studio: -I really learned a good foundation for drawing here--from drawing basic still life to developing my own voice in my art. -The teachers are real-life, art-loving, practicing artists, not just people teaching art because they have no other source of income. Also, the teachers are just solid people with great/fun personalities (I'm looking at you, Tiffany and Ann.) -A variety of mediums were explored during my 8 year tenure--everything from colored pencil, chalk, charcoal, oil paint, acrylic paint, oil pastel, etc. -I really loved the sense of freedom that was bestowed upon me here. There wasn't a strict "thou shalt draw this" kind of thing; it was more of the teachers coming alongside you and working with your interests, your passions. I had a really good time at this studio during my adolescence; this studio was certainly a catalyst in making me love art more and creating good art. Overall, 10/10, must recommend. read more

My child has been coming here since first grade. Wonderful, knowledgeable staff - who all have a passion for teaching the arts to children. What sets this studio apart is they focus on foundational art instruction - no tracing, no filling in what the teacher pencils - it's all from the children themselves no matter how little they are. They teach perspective, proportion, lighting/shading, color theory and even digital art. They practice various mediums - oil and soft pastels, watercolors, colored pencil, oil and acrylic paints. Studio is warm and friendly - bright with great light and bustling with positive energy. And the summer camps are educational and a BLAST!! My daughter began attending Aspire Art from the age of six until thirteen years old. In 2003, the school had been known as Kim Art and she went every summer. Her self-confidence and her artistic ability grew. She learned to use acrylic, water color, oil painting and color pencil. Even her junior high school art teacher was impressed with her creativity and technique. Also, she is great friends with Ms. Clare and Ms. Tiffany. On her last summer break before applying for college, my daughter volunteered at Aspire Art to help with the younger students and with chores. For her, it was an ideal opportunity for community service credit and to be with the friends she grew up with. Aspire Art studio fosters a positive learning environment.
