Premier views come with a premier drink price tag for sure. I love bringing friends from out of the city to Assembly, but we only normally stay for one drink a piece and then head elsewhere. It's a good place to start the night and maybe take in the sunset, but more than 3 drinks and you'd spend a small fortune in my opinion. If you're rich like that and have daddy's (or your own) money to burn as you sip bourbon in your custom tailored suit, by all means, but this isn't the place to get sloshed at if you're common folk like myself. The patio itself is rather tight, with the couch tables being on a "reservation only" type schedule. The bar itself is hard to get a drink at, because there are numerous chairs blocking the actual counter. If the view wasn't so nice, I honestly would stop coming here. read more

I came here for the Halloween special drinks and I think this is the place to be even if it's not Halloween. We didn't have any reservations or had to wait to get a table. However we did get there right when happy hour started. I would suggest trying to come a little early, because by the end of the night it was very busy and almost all the tables were packed. We got a couple of different drinks with the Halloween menu. My ultimate favorite was the black magic, it was a frozen gin drink that had lemonade. It was very enjoyable and I caught myself getting another even when it started to get cold outside. The views are incredible. If you can get a seat outside I would highly suggest that. You can see Ben Franklin Parkway perfectly, and with the leaves changing colors everything looked so beautiful. They do have heating lamps and some tables have a fire pit. The drinks are good, but prices are higher than most places I've been in Philly. You also have to pay $10 per person when you make a reservation, which is atypical in my experience, but you won't get a table without a reservation. Assembly rooftop Lounge is a great place to find yourself sunset as the views of The Parkway are absolutely stunning. This is my go-to rooftop bar around Center City. During the summer months you can really give your friends and dates a nice city experience by bringing them here. Be sure to bring a good camera and dress up for the Selfies and photos you'll be in! The rooftop Lounge is connected to a hotel so you'll meet a lot of out-of-towners and tourists which can be quite fun. There's never a cover to come up. They'll just check your ID at the ground floor. Upstairs if I remember correctly the food is overpriced although it may be delicious. In terms of drinks all I've ever had is a beer and that's the average price around the city maybe around 6 or $7. Step out into the sun or moon light and you'll see that there are fire pits with couches for large groups of people to mingle. The crowd tends to be a bit older and you'll see less of the immediate post-college college crowd. Take a warm night and be sure to enjoy this spot. Be sure to tell your friends! Came with a group of friends/family to celebrate me and my husband's 31st wedding anniversary. I heard about Assembly through a relative who came for cocktails. I thought this would be the perfect meet up spot before heading to dinner. This rooftop bar is a lounge that services bar food and cocktails which fit the bill for me and my group of 11. The place is located in the Logan Hotel on the 9th floor. There is no cover and no reservations. It's first come first serve. The views are of the Ben Franklin Parkway and the art museum. Once you stepped off the elevator there is staff to greet you. We arrived around 8 ish. The crowd was a small which was fine since we had a large party. The hostess at first sat us near the ledge with a great view. We hadn't even gotten our drinks and another hostess came over to say "I have good news and bad news". My heart started to drop thinking we would have to move and loose this beautiful view. The good news was we were being seated by the fire pit. Yes!!!! My group and I headed over to the fire pit, ordered drinks, took lots of pics and had a blast. . The air was crisp, the drinks was flowing with a beautiful flame hitting our faces. I've gone to a few of the rooftop bars in Philly and I think Assembly might be my favorite so far. It's super cute and has nice seating outside at tables or like lounge seating - it's sophisticated but still casu. You won't really see Center City but I think Logan Square and the Museum District are a different but comparable view. There's NO cover (at lest not when I've gone). The staff is super friendly and accommodating. It started drizzling when we were there and I asked one of the servers if they could give us some of the reserved seating under the small retractable roof that's still outside and they were very nice about it. The drinks are cute and yummy! Honestly too yummy that it might be a little dangerous lol like count your drinks just in case. We had a taste of all the cocktails and loved all of them! This place just... sucks. I'm a local and have tried to come here 6 times in the past year. I have never, not once, been able to do so. They "don't take reservations" but they suddenly "have a waiting list 2 hours long" when you arrive. There's always some reason you can't go outside. Or a private event conveniently not mentioned when you call ahead to make sure they're open and seating people. The front "greeting" staff is condescending. Sure, the view is nice but you won't get to see it. Don't bother with this place. read more

There was a little confusion on the host stand in regard to the seating arrangement but we sat outside with a little bit of work. Considering how empty the bar was I was a little irritated at the difficult seating. I ordered a double gin and tonic at the bar and we sat outside. We ordered another round of drinks and some appetizers. The food was good but the service again was "ok". It seemed the servers were more intent on getting out early than serving. And then the bill came! Two double G&T's were $64. I've had many doubles in my life but this was definitely the most expensive 2 drinks I've had for sometime. Pass. Great views, stunning location everything else was passé. We contacted the manager and got a "I'll check into it" the next day and two weeks later still no response. I went here with a family member. $10 per person for a reservation which I found expensive just for a reservation. The process for the reservation was easy. We enter through Logan Hotel and found the elevator to the rooftop bar. It is a 90 minute time limit. Once we got there it was a very nice atmosphere. The view was amazing. I did look at the menu beforehand and knew they didn't serve much other than apps and drinks. We ordered two drinks, the cheese board, and a dessert. Everything was around $16-19 each. It was expensive but if you have the money to blow, it was worth it. I definitely don't regret coming here but I won't come again due to the high prices and lack of menu. All of the couch areas were reserved so we took a high top next to the outer wall which gave us a great view of the city. The sun had not set yet so there were a few too many flying bugs for our pleasure. We ordered the charcuterie board and it had some very chef inspired creations. The Alpine Heights pop up stinks! Paid a $10/per person cover to make a reservation in advance and still ended up waiting 25 minutes to be seated. There are only two "fire pits" on the deck, which are reserved for larger parties, so be prepared to sit at a regular table with a barely functioning patio heater. The drinks are unremarkable for the price you pay and we didn't even bother getting food. Also, the decorations are a joke - they put up some garland, a couple antler chandeliers, a few snowflake ornaments, and called it a day. I LOVE ASSEMBLY ROOFTOP! I have been here more times than I can remember at this point, and I have yet to be dissatisfied. My bf has ordered an old fashioned a couple times, and he loves it as well. The view is one of my favorites because it's mostly people watching, and by people watching, I mean staring at the people playing in the Logan Square Fountain. So, if you're planning your night out solely based on Assembly, I would recommend calling ahead - there were a few times in my life, I found out after I had gone there that it was closed. I'm a fan based on my one visit. The view alone is worth it and that is a big part of a good rooftop bar. It has a lounge feel with sofa seating on the patio. I like this aspect but it certainly limits the amount of seating available outside. A lot of the seating was reserved but there was standing room with a spot to set drinks so it was still enjoyable. I ordered a round of Blanton's bourbon for the group I was with, doubles at that. And the price was high, but that's what you get when you order Blanton's at a bar. It was smooth and tasty and is definitely one of the best bourbons available. Back to the view. It was night and the lights were on in Logan Square and the surrounding buildings. The fountain was beaming and the path of lights leading to the Art Museum looked awesome. The Franklin Institute, Parkway Central Library, Philadelphia Pennsylvania Temple, and the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul were all lit up and looking amazing. Rooftop bars like this make me pray that it never snows nor rains ever again. Esq and I arrived at the Assembly around 10:00 PM on Saturday night with another couple in tow. We didn't experience the pretention nor the 'tudes that some of the other Yelpers referenced. We were met with smiles and whisked up to the rooftop lounge where we found a perfect outdoor high-top table to relax and enjoy a few cocktails. The views are stunning. It was a perfect spring evening with warm breezes blowing and stars abound (cripes, that sounds like a song from the 1970's). The only thing that perplexed me was how many people were wading in the fountain in Logan Square. Is that normal? If you tried to pull that malarkey NYC, your hiney would be in jail faster than you can say, "My bunions were killing me!" Prices were on point for a new posh lounge and we found the waitstaff to be attentive. We liked that they didn't overly pack the space with patrons. Fancy hotel rooftop lounge for a beautiful view of the path to Philadelphia. Museum of Art. Visited mid-February hoping to catch the sunset, but the sun set on the otherside of the building. There is seating inside along the bar and a few tables throughout the small lounge. There is also additional seating outside, both tables and booths. In the winter, the booths will have the fireplace turned on so it is bearable to sit in the cold. Drinks are reasonably ranged from $8+ so it won't break your bank. Worth a visit for the view if you're in the area in the Winter, but the patio would be awesome to hang out on in the summers. read more
