My Wife and I chose to remodel our pool with California Custom Pool and this is the masonry company they picked for our remodel. From the beginning there no communication from this company. I was told what day they would be starting by California custom pools and that they would be starting in the morning but lot what time. I woke up that morning and they were already in my backyard working. Most of the guys didn't speak English so when there was a a problem I had to call my guy at California custom pools and then he had to call the owner of this company and then the owner would call his guys and even still the proper information wasn't communicated. They have comeback to "fix" the spill way from my spa and it still isn't flowing right. They also did a very messy job covering a retaining wall I had in my backyard. The flagstone work around the edge of the pool looks great and the water line tile also looks great but the professionalism is lacking and they obviously didn't care to clean up their mess. Not to mention the crew that was working at my house told their boss they had completely finished the job when I still have a hole in the ground next to the pool because they were supposed to come back after the plumber and fill in the hole and cover it with flagstone. I have greatly enjoyed working with California custom pools but not with this company if you go with California custom pools make sure you get a different mason

UPDATE 6/2026: I'm…read moresad to say my opinion of this gym has really gone down since my original review. Sheree's Pilates, yoga, Yogalates, and barre classes continue to be challenging and effective. I've been her student for over two years now, and the difference in my abs and strength is amazing. That we can study with a professional ballet dancer for the price of a gym membership cannot be overstated, and to be honest, she is the only reason I'm still going to this gym. The turnover in trainers is ridiculous because they do not treat their staff well. I am a professional educator and understand people management, and what I see as an outsider corroborates what different former crew and former trainers have told me. Not one of the original staff from when I started is still there. Also, all the trainers that impressed me as a powerlifter and bodybuilder and gave me effective and challenging workouts are now gone. I don't want to have to keep starting over with a new trainer every few months, so I've canceled my training package. Finally, the turf area is kind of a joke. They still only have up to 40# KBs that I can see. They replaced the sled with this rolling thing that I never see anyone use because it "is easier for a lot of clients." Who goes to the gym to do easy things? I'm giving this review 3 starts because of Sheree Skiles and the fact that the pool is clean and I enjoy using it. I am disappointed to say the least. If you are serious about lifting, and fitness, I'd have to say look elsewhere.

I thought I should also add this location on Yelp for future pool seekers. I can only review on the lap swimming pool since that was what we were there for. When we initially stopped by to gather more information, the girl at the desk didn't know much details about the swimming atmosphere. We returned a few days later and talked to one of the lifeguards there and she was able to give us more details about the hours, pricing, availability, and crowdedness. You enter the pool, and apparently the gym and rec center, through the locker rooms, which are separated for men and women, which is nice. The locker rooms are big enough to change and store your stuff. They also have lockers outside by the pool. The L-shaped pool is very large. It is divided so there are four lanes for lap swimming and a general area for other swimming purposes. Bleachers, a sunning area, and lounge chairs are available for spectators and guests. Plenty of seating area, which is nice. The pool is indoors, but one of the wall is "open" so it feels like an outdoor pool with concrete covering. Quite nice, actually. You have to call and ask for pricing since I believe it might be seasonal. Plenty of parking. The rec center itself is much larger than what we expected from the outside.

Unfortunately, for a kiddie pool, this means 9 year old and older "kiddies" throwing each other around in the pool and knocking my son and I around. When I expressed this concern to someone at the front desk, I was dismissed with "that's why it's a rule that the parent has to be in the pool with their kids". I WAS in the pool with my son and I take full responsibility for his safety, however, I shouldn't have to be pulling my son from under water because a 9 year old was thrown on top of him. On a sidenote: the older kids were not accompanied by their parents....hmmmm. I was a lifeguard for YEARS and this would not have been tolerated behavior with the pools I worked for. In fact, kids over a certain age (this was years ago, so I don't remember the exact age) were not even ALLOWED in the kiddie pool. I will continue to take my son here because he loves the pool, but it is with disappointment as to how they tolerate this behavior and dismiss concerns from their patrons and Fontana residents :(

Their prices are very reasonable even if you are not a member but becoming a member is very inexpensive and totally worth it. My son enjoyed the summer day camp so much. It had great programs everyday that kept him so busy and they even gave him the courage to jump into the 4 feet at the pool and learn how to swim even better than he was before coming. When they had to discipline him, they were fair about it and respectful. I appreciated that very much especially since my son loves to get in trouble. ___ The gym aspect of the Highland YMCA is great too. Their Zumba classes are jam packed but so fun. The trainer kept the class moving and exciting. The schedule is full of group classes that I look forward to trying. They are going on all day and all night which is great for working people. Always friendly front desk staff that are ready to go above and beyond helping their guests!!!! I do love the Redlands Facility way more but living closer to the Highland one, I have grown to love them too.

Especially the lovely ladies that work in the children's room/ childcare center. This Y keeps rasing their membership price but with no changes. No new machines or anything to justify the price increases. As it's went up 3 times already. We even kept paying during covid even though it was closed. Pretty much donated our $$$ to them for over 3 months. Didn't even get a Y T shirt or anything lol. We love the YMCA's as we have been members since we were kids in San Diego ca and Los Angeles Ca. Our kids are Y babies from Downey Ca. We really thought we'd be members for life but I'm just not sure if we're going to keep our membership. As we pay full price and there are a lot of other gyms with lower prices.
