The patients have NO way to call for help other than hollering until someone happens to come in. When I asked about this, they told me "we check on them". I was there for 4 hours, and no one came in. The meals are HORRIBLE. I stayed to enjoy a meal with her, and no one at the table could eat the meal. None of us could even figure out what it was, broccoli with a brown gravy stuff on it.

At the risk of neglecting to name others who should also be recognized, I have to give a shout out to Adriana, Sheri and Teri for their professionalism and compassion. We placed my 91 year old mother in an independent living apartment there four months ago following the sudden death of her husband of nearly 70 years. Her son had died less than a week earlier at Christmas. My mother has a fair degree of dementia and could not live alone. There had been no preparation for my mother to move into senior living and she was resistant to making the move. However, the Bella Vista team was most welcoming during one of the lowest moments in my mother's life and helped her rapidly integrate into the Bella Vista community. My mother loves her apartment and frequently comments about how friendly everyone is. I am so grateful that we found Bella Vista for my mother.

At least offer a brief explanation of what a knowledge nest education class offers. Activities offered darts in the bistro. The darts had no points. Magnets on them were weak. They fell off the target. We are not children. Please don't offer us sports, games for a child. Someone needs to review activity interest as evidenced by sign up and participation. It looks like there is plenty to do but that is misleading.

For three years I cared for my mother as she battled dementia, it was one of the hardest experiences of my life, I struggled to understand her mood swings her refusal to eat, shower, or take medication. I eventually had to accept that I didn't have the skills or knowledge to provide the care she needed, after moving her four times since 2022 I was feeling hopeless until one day in March 2023 I overheard a woman at the grocery store raving about a place of joy she described it as heaven on Earth a place where her father was cared for with love and dedication her words stuck with me and I decided to visit from the moment I walked in I felt something different the owner Chela is incredibly attentive to detail and it's clear that she runs this home with both expertise and a huge heart every time I visit often unannounced I see caregivers who are genuinely happy always smiling and treating the residents with kindness and patience. Most importantly I always see the residents happy. the name says it all this truly is a place of joy, if you're looking for a group home where your loved one will be treated with dignity compassion and expert care this is it. She is well fed, the facility is always clean, the meals are wonderful, and she is as happy as one can be under her circumstances. Her husband, my uncle, visits regularly, and always knows he will find his wife up and dressed, having a meal, or just finishing one, with clean linens on the bed, a comfortable chair where she feels safe, and people around who care for her and make her feel safe. I am grateful for the peace of mind my uncle has knowing the staff care greatly about and for my aunt which allows him some sense of comfort since they cannot be together in their home. I'm so thankful we found Eden Estates for my Mom a year and a half ago. On our first visit my heart was overjoyed and at peace. When you can walk into a place that feels like home (always clean, very comfortable furniture, cozy bedrooms, beautiful decor) and smells like home (three delicious home cooked meals) you know it's a special place unlike any other elderly care facility you have ever been to before. The well trained, 24 hour staff, is top notch and truly loves and cares for the residents. They treat them like family, because at Eden that is what we truly are...a family! They accommodate your loved ones likes and interests, favorite movies, music, favorite foods, and even celebrate their Birthdays complete with decorations! Before COVID we celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas together a few days before. We were able to bring our loved ones favorite traditional foods that remind them of home. This place is truly a home away from home. The medical care is exceptional. They work together with my Moms doctors and hospice nurse, always keeping me informed of the plan if anything changes. I know without a doubt that my mom is receiving the best care possible at Eden. Since COVID, Josh (the owner) took swift action to inform us that we are no longer allowed to visit in person. I know this wasn't what any of us wanted, but I am very grateful that his number one concern is the safety of the residents at Eden Estates and gladly abide. Because of this, all of our Eden family has remained safe and protected. He quickly set up an iPad so that residents can video chat with their families. I feel that he truly cares and has the residents best interest at heart. Angela's philosophy of care and commitment to excellence is unsurpassed. As a family, the owners are personally invested in the integrity and quality of life of the residents they call their Eden Family. Their kindness to both my husband and me during this difficult transition brought comfort and peace to us both. My husband adjusted quickly and easily to this setting, I believe because it feels much like any comfortable, caring home with a family. The caregivers learned early-on how to interpret his prompts and eagerly engage to meet his needs. I get to be his wife again and enjoy his company the days we have together. Completely horrible experience from the first day to the day we pulled my mother out of memory…read morecare, which was only 3 days later. Staff was virtually absent. Getting in and out of the unit took sometimes as long as 10 minutes or more. On a Saturday we observed the only staff member available to open the door was the same only staff member serving lunch to the zombies they have for patients. Upon entering the lunchroom there were children's cartoons playing on TV, green looking hot dogs with some type of sauce that looked like it came out of a bathroom, and my mother could barely speak to us, as her voice was hoarse, her hair was filthy and matted to the back of her head, mismatched dirty clothes, and when I tracked down the same nurse I had met 3 days earlier who was handling the same vials that were later given to me as "haloperidol", she did not know who I was, rudely stated her name, and shrugged me off when I said I was taking my mother out of the lunch room immediately. My father who would visit my mother from independent living (we also removed him and all his belongings 3 days later when we learned the entire apartment was infested with various types of roaches when we visited after movers brought his items in 3 days earlier) would try and help her eat and take her back to her room and would be told he could not take her out for sometimes as much as two hours while the other zombie residents (by all appearances every resident had been given some type of sedative, my mothers was Halperidol, I learned later when I pulled her meds upon taking her out of the facility. NEVER SANCTIONED IN FACT TOLD HER HOSPICE NURSE NOT TO GIVE THIS TO HER EVER AGAIN PRIOR TO ENTRY INTO FACILITY as side effects are " potent antipsychotic medication with common side effects including sedation, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and blurred vision. It carries a high risk of extrapyramidal symptoms (EPS)--such as tremors, muscle stiffness, and involuntary movements--as well as potential for serious conditions like tardive dyskinesia, QT prolongation, and neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS)." When I told the staff I was taking her out for at least the weekend (only way to get her out of there quickly was to state she was coming to visit with me at my home) I was given an entire bag of 30 or more doses of this Halperidol drug she was NOT PRESCRIBED prior to admission by the 'nurse on duty' to bring home with me. WHAT? My father observed patients with involuntary movements throughout the 3 days she was there and again, my mother could barely speak or raise her voice above a whisper and reported "voices in her head" and clicking, roaring, and thumping in her ear. AFTER 3 DAYS. DO NOT BRING YOUR LOVED ONE TO THIS FACILITY OR ANYWHERE NEAR ANY PART OF THE PROPERTY FOR ANY REASON.

Parkland said let's bring her home because you have eight brothers and sisters and we'll have a hospital bed and a 24 hour nurse so you guys can visit with your mother. She passed a week later, and everyone in the family got to see her, or get a telephone conference, to say they loved her. We highly recommend Parkland memory care for your consideration.

Many, if not most at Parkland have been there 5-6 years. It was no contest. Parkland is a great facility, built specifically for memory care patients. What truly impresses, though, is the caring, attentive nature of the staff...and I mean everyone from the executive director to the caregivers!! They actively engage the residents and are kind, attentive and respectful. I am so happy I made the choice to take her to Parkland. She recently passed but loved her time there, especially loved the staff and the residents. If you have choice, you need to look at Parkland first. Incredible!
