And CONSTANT (and dishonest) nickel and diming to death. One month they insisted that my elderly parent living there needed a "2-3 person assist" to get around. That was fine. The next month, they insisted that my parent, somehow (with the same alleged 2-3 person assist) kept trying to escape and needed to go into infinitely more expensive memory care, so I asked them why the 2-3 people assisting them were helping my parent to escape? And could they please stop that? Magically after that, my elderly parent didn't need a 2-3 person assist anymore and no longer needed memory care. It was a "miracle!"

Having worked in just about every medical discipline, including an SNF, and can identify issues. I did find one. Our friend has a nice 1 bedroom apartment which included a large entryway with a kitchenette. There was enough room for a small dining table and chairs. Additionally, there was a separate living room and separate bedroom. Their check in process takes a couple of minutes and each visitor must register Our friend likes the staff and says the food is pretty good. The bottom line is: I highly recommend this place!!

Most importantly, the staff are angels. It takes a special, caring person to take care of others like they do, and the Barth staff go above and beyond for their residents. They know their residents' needs and anticipate them. I was honestly blown away by their dedication and care. This review is a love letter to their kindness and humanity. If you work here, you walk on water. Thank and bless you. I also met about half of the 62 residents, and found them dignified, warm and kindly. There is an air of appreciation for the comfort that safe, affordable housing brings. A friendly word here is appreciated by these nice folks. Please take the time to say a cheery hi to these deserving residents if you are walking by. There was a $1.3 million renovation in 2005, to create a Union Station renaissance. The lucky residents can partake of simple, free public transportation to the many attractions that locals seek, including the 16th Street Mall, Performing Arts, Denver Art Museum, Ball Stadium, or Coors Field. The Barth Hotel's 4 story, red brick historic building, designed in 1882 by Frederick Eberley, preserves the beautiful architectural details of its time, including high, pressed-tin ceilings, and soaring, brick-voussoir-arched windows. The ornate bracketed cornices bring gorgeous detail, standing in appealing juxtaposition to clean contemporary architecture. In terms of history, why can't we always strive for beauty in building? 100 years from its inception, The Barth was deservedly added to the National Registry of Historic Places. Standing inside, looking out of my family member's arched, magnificent 140 year original, liquid-wavy glass 12 foot window, it's amazing to me that this gem was given this second chance to serve deserving local citizens.
