She is not only tapping into what your body tells her but she is intuitive which spans beyond the typical learned chiropractic practice. She is not the chiropractor that's going to snap crack pop you when your neck is tight and wouldn't risk the damage instead she is the kind of person who is going to know exactly what needs to happen around your neck to release the muscles and manipulate the contributing factors so that she can then adjust the part of the neck that needs to be adjusted. Just to elaborate when I went in yesterday I told her that in a yoga class I was losing balance on my left side which is something I've never experienced before and I thought it was due to some recent PT I was doing to repair some compensation on my right knee, she said to me "how's your ear been" and I said what do you mean and she said well have you had any discomfort or wet feeling in your left ear? And then she started feeling around and it turns out my left ear was out of alignment and there was some moisture trapped and it was causing my equilibrium to be off which is why I was out of balance. Id been taking zyrtec for a week trying to deal with sinus pressure but didn't connect these factors. This woman is a genius and not to mention just a lovely happy positive energy good vibe person that you want to be around. I came to Greenbrook as a last-ditch effort for depression that stems from PTSD. I've experienced…read moredepression/anxiety/insomnia for 24 years straight with slight improvement from antidepressants and anti- anxiety meds. I've tried every single antidepressant short of the anti-psychotic meds. The side effects were tolerable but turned me into a shell of myself, worsened my insomnia, messed with my cognitive faculties, and kept me from being able to learn how to cope on my own. I also want to mention that I experience migraines, which was a concern considering the nature of TMS treatment. As far as treatments went, it's not pain-free, but you absolutely get used to it, and the techs who treated me took time out to adjust the machine if it bothered me too much. After day 3, I didn't notice the taps and kept myself preoccupied playing word games. They had TV for a bit which was awesome because I could watch an episode of Futurama in a comfy chair and time flew by. After the first week, I truly liked forward to my treatment sessions because the atmosphere was so comfortable there (mainly due to the techs, Christy and Kate). It NEVER triggered a migraine which was a huge plus for me. So while the tapping could be uncomfortable at times, I had no negative side-effects from the treatment. It is absolutely worth the tapping to end the pain of depression. I sent in my request for treatment, and the staff at Greenbrook (a HUGE shout out to Christy) handled everything... from getting authorization from my insurance (I have Tricare Prime), to scheduling treatments around MY schedule. Christy never failed to make sure my treatments were comfortable and was incredibly flexible with me if I needed to change an appointment time. Not only did the treatment help me reach full remission (verified by 3 different doctors), but it gave me my true self back. I was able to ditch the medications without experiencing rebound depression. My family and I are going through an intensely stressful period right now, and not only can I survive it, I'm thriving. Even with the stress, I can confidently say I feel better than I've ever felt in my life. I want to credit Christy for going above and beyond during my treatments. I honestly believe that, while TMS is an excellent tool (and in my case, more effective than any medication), Christy's support and empathy made it all the more effective. She put my faith back in humanity. She makes time for her patients, she answers every email, and phone call, and goes above and beyond to make sure the patient's experience goes smoothly from beginning to end. I can't recommend the Greenbrook TMS in Newport News highly enough. For me, seeing Christy everyday was the cherry on top.

We also loved the exercises that she gave us to take what we learn in sessions and apply them, in practice, at home. Even though we were sometimes sluggish about completing them, she never made us feel bad about it while still holding us accountable. We would still be with Dr. April if we did not move out of her practicing jurisdiction. We cannot thank her enough for her work with us. What am I paying for? If I call to get a refill... How are you not able to look it up? My dr has that stuff on file, not me. Then, when I call in a weird situation (we were going on vacation and my son was going to run out of his inhaler but when I refilled his Rx, it had expired.) the office wouldn't even budge to try to process it faster (48 HR processing time? Unacceptable.) . Just a blatant NO. I was like, are you kidding me? So, needless to say.... I have my son's PCP taking over to manage his meds and my daughter too. It's just ridiculous how hard it is to get anything done. Never in my life have I ever had such a hard time with a dr's office. When I spoke to the dr about some of my issues (not dr hogan) she said, well we can get up to 3,000 calls, requests a day). Is it just me, or is that kind of answer an explanation of taking on too many patients or being understaffed? Please try to find another office. This one is by far the biggest waste of time.

I wish I could say more, but I don't believe this will be posted if I do. When I tried to file a formal complaint, I was met with rudeness and they refused to speak to me or acknowledge the employee's wrong doing. I told them I had irrefutable evidence of the misconduct, but the office manager refused to speak to me about it and said I had no right to complain. That's when I found out they mysteriously lost the paperwork we filled out during the first visit, giving me permission to access my family member's records and speak to them on their behalf. As a representative of the physician, the office staff should be held to the same ethical standards as the doctor, but this office ignores their patients and their family members. I have never encountered a doctors office so unethical in my life, and as much as I'm angry about what they did to my family, I am writing this more for the next family that they could hurt.
