I moved to Florida 3 years ago from the Northeast. Needed a generator so I narrowed it down to 2 venders from Google reviews...Reliable Power Systems and APS. Prices came in about the same, sales people were both likable, it was a coin toss who to use. I chose Reliable, and I choose poorly. After the install, I immediately sign up for the yearly maintenance agreement with Reliable. Fast forward 8 months later and here's where my problems start. I have 10 guests visiting me and staying at my house (of course this is when I have problems) and one morning the electric in the kitchen, the hot water heater, the a/c and pool pumps aren't working. The circuit breakers appear all fine and everything else in the house is working. I notice blinking lights on the generator module and so I call Reliable. I explain what's going on, I tell them I have 10 house guests. Reliable tells me they can't make it out to my house for 2 weeks. TWO WEEKS. I'm like, how is that possible? It's March, it's not even hurricane season. There hasn't been any storms, it's literally a normal time of year. I tell them I have a maintenance contract with them. They don't care. TWO WEEKS. I ask to speak to a manager. Two hours later the Reliable manager calls me back, says he can fit me in the schedule in 6 days. SIX DAYS (which is 2 days after my guests will have left). Now, what the Reliable manager doesn't know is that in the two hours time between my first call to Reliable and his return call to me I have called my electrician in a panic. I have 10 house guests that I can't cook for (who came to Florida for vacation and now can't use the pool or hot tub), it's getting warm in the house and my refrigerator and freezer are full of food and both have literally become ticking time bombs. My electrician says "Reliable is the worst, call APS". So, I call APS. Now, at this point, I am not APS's customer. I did NOT just spend $40,000 with APS eight months prior to purchase and install a generator. In fact, I'm the non-customer who asked APS for a quote and then didn't even hire them. I am no one to them. What does APS tell me? "We'll be out in an hour". An hour later they arrive, 15 mins after that they have re-booted my module and suggest that if it happens again that I replace it. APS's technician had literally come to my house, fixed the issue and left before I even got a return phone call from Reliable's manager telling me that he "could fit me in his schedule in 6 days". Do yourself a favor and hire Assurance Power Systems from the get go. I now have my maintenance contract with APS and they have continued to provide me with excellent and timely service. Their technicians are friendly and knowledgable and their customer service can't be beat! read more

I purchased my 30KW RCL Kohler whole-house generator a few years ago, from Assurance Power Systems (APS), in Delray Beach, Florida. The overall cost including the generator, a 500 gallon underground propane tank, Kohler Transfer-Switch, Wireless Monitoring System, gas tank burial installation and hookup, electrical hookup, delivery, and electrician services, all totaled around $22,000.00. At the time of purchase the unit came with 1 year free service, including parts and labor. After which, I have always purchased the Sliver Maintenance Service Package from APS, which gives me two maintenance checkups per year, including oil changes. As mentioned, I have always performed the annual oil/filter and spark plug changes (which is the only maintenance that is to be performed until 300 hours per the owner's manual.) As Southeast Florida has not had any major hurricanes in almost twenty years, I did not feel the need to sign up for APS's Refilling Gas Program, which for a service fee, APS will constantly monitor your underground tank, and keep filling it as needed without you having to worry about running out of propane during Hurricane season. Since APS installed my Kohler 30KW generator, I must say both the generator and APS's maintenance service program have both performed flawlessly! My generator automatically runs through it's weekly computerized exercise routine and checklist, then the onboard wireless monitoring system forwards the results directly to both APS's monitoring service at their office, and also to my iPad and cellphone, for my review. Should there ever be a problem with any of the onboard systems within the generator, the wireless monitoring system will notify us both, and APS will deploy their repair technicians to my house. This way I am always kept in the loop of what's happening with the generator and APS's service and maintenance. Since the inception of service of my Kohler generator, and APS's service maintenance program, I have come to experience complete peace of mind when it comes to my home. No longer do I have to worry about the loss of food, costly cleanup and repairs, and mold and bacteria growth due to a loss of power at my house. Wherever I am in the world, North America, Europe, Asia, or the Caribbean, I always receive notifications from both Assurance Power Systems and the generator, giving me clear and accurate updates of the generator's maintenance and operational status. To the A.P.S. Team, Our family cannot express how amazing the stand-by generator functioned during Hurricane Irma. It provided such a tremendous relief to not only my family but several of our neighbors, some of which were elderly and alone. We lost power Sunday morning at 10:00 am and the generator immediately kicked on. I was a little worried that we were only at 50% full on our propane tank but we didn't get power back until Tuesday morning and the tank was a little over 40% when the power came on. My kids almost didn't realize we were having a significant storm as the generator provided us with all the comforts of home they are used to. This was our 1st storm with the generator and we must have thanked God and A.P.S. several times a day for helping us through the storm in such a comfortable fashion. I know these generators aren't cheap however I would suggest A.P.S. to anyone who lives in Florida and has the resources to invest in such a crucial component to surviving through these storms. It is such a comfort and blessing to have this instrument, just knowing that our kids and family and neighbors in need can rely on us during those trying times. The stress that precedes a Hurricane and the discomfort that follows are almost negated by this device. Once again a huge thanks to your entire team of professionals. My whole house generator has been maintained by APS for over 8 years. I have not had a single problem with the generator or APS over that timeframe. I have a background in engineering and could probably do most of the maintenance myself, but over the years I have found that my machine/setup (and my guess is many others) has certain peculiarities which my "textbook" understanding does not cover. Having said that, anytime the service guys come, they have all been very knowledgable and friendly. The "engineer in me" tends to make me ask any type of service company lots of questions about how things work etc. I appreciate that APS has technicians who are not only capable of answering my technical questions, but are friendly and courteous while doing so. A special thank you to Brian A. who has worked on my machine multiple times. He is one of a select group of technicians who I actually look forward to seeing - not only does he do a great job, but I always learn something as well. Perhaps one of the best compliments that I can give is that I rarely even think about the generator - it just works as it should. I am confident that in the event of a hurricane or extended power outage, the generator will work as it is supposed to. However, in the event that if for some reason the generator fails during an extended outage APS will get me back up and running with minimal down time. I know that there are many companies out there that do similar work, and perhaps they may even be cheaper, but the piece of mind knowing that I can trust the generator and APS is worth it. read more

The flex plate on my generator broke during emergency operation of a long term total power failure due to hurricane Irma. The day after the hurricane left the area, I went to the Assurance Power Systems office headquarters in Delray Beach, FL for a replacement part and the entire service staff searched the warehouse for a replacement flex plate. In the end the Service Manager Steve Newland authorized and gave me an out of service generator identical to my make and model to use for parts replacement. He had it loaded into my truck and I was able to make my generator operational and restore electrical power to my home. They were awesome in customer service and satisfaction. I am a customer for life, because of this very kind magnanimous gesture. Due to the fact I have an ongoing maintenance service contract with Assurance Power Systems, they treated me like royalty during the critical time just after Hurricane Irma blew through South Florida. The fact they supplied an entire out of service generator that exactly matched my current make and model, enabling me to replace a major broken part and allowed my generator to become operational during a 5 day power failure. Did numerous research and decided to go through Home Depot program to purchase generator in which their preferred vendor was APS (Assurance Power systems). Yes you pay in full 100% up front to HD, but HD does not release funds to the vendor until job is competed approved and home owner signs off. From the start sales rep David Yeakle at APS was professional, polite, knowledgeable, set realistic expectations about the time frame and explained how to select proper generator, permitting issues( be patient it takes time and APS has a process so nothing is missed). Once approved the electrical and natural gas crew set things up quickly; actually knocked out install within a week, but just had to wait afterwards for city to do final inspection on electric and then gas and then final inspection( Again be patient, depending upon what city you reside in) Install was very clean and tight. APS knows what they ae doing as well as they do everything, it is there own employees , they do not source out. Also customer service team very nice and responsive. One l issue with electrical conduit line, but once they understood my concern , they came out and adjusted. read more

We used APS to install a Generator for our home. The company and its team was very responsive and professional. They provided a plan of action with timelines upon executing the agreement, thereafter they delivered within the time lines. Most important when the timelines could not be met due to permitting process, they kept us apprised of the same. This was a major expenditure for this project and we opted to hire APS, although their quote was higher then others. They are a company that are truly a "One stop solution" company because they provide the equipment, installation, maintenance, monitoring for the generator and all important natural gas. Thus, we do not have to deal with multiple company's. have to mention that Tracey Diaz has been excellent Account Manger she has followed up on all contacts. We have contracted APS to run routine testing and they perform these service on schedule and keep us updated on the status of the system. After hurricane Matthew I had a power generator installed in my house by assurance power systems. They did an unbelievable job on the installation and before the storm we spoke and made sure that everything was running OK. If anyone is considering installing a generator I highly recommend them. I have personally seen examples of customers complaining and beloved those complaints to be unfounded. It is unreasonable to believe a service technician would come out during the actual storm. Or during a curfew. Or entering an area that has a mandatory evacuation. This is a business with thousands of customers and it is unreasonable to expect to be the very first service call after the storm. The technicians simply cannot service every customer at the exact same time nor guarantee that you will be the first to be serviced after the storm. That is an unreasonable expectation. When I decided to get a full house generator, another generator company was already in the neighborhood, but I still wanted 5 estimates. Without a doubt my sales girl, Kim Giles was super awesome and was at the top of the game. She was prepared and fully laid out exactly what was going to happen and where it was going to go. She was so personable that you just liked her right from the get go. The rest of her team was equally as awesome. There were as many as 9 people working at one time. Once you get past the county permit, it goes very quickly, and my generator does exactly what they said it would do, which being in South Florida, doesn't always happen. I have recommended this company several times already. Their estimate actually came in a bit cheaper than the company that was already in the neighborhood, and it was all inclusive. This is the third time I have used Assurance Power Systems for a job. I dealt directly with the owner Will Ferrigno who was punctual, professional and always accommodating in every sense. I contacted him on fathers day (sunday) and told him how my water heater had exploded in my garage. I was in need of a new heater immediately. Despite it being his day off, Will arranged to have a new heater put in first thing Monday morning. He showed up at 8 am and by 9:45 the heater was being installed. It was reasonably priced and the crew paid very careful attention to detail, even cleaning up after themselves when finished. I can't say enough about APS and their integrity as a locally owned business. As a business owner myself I know how hard it is to please the general public and accommodate the demands of South Florida consumers. APS installed our whole house generator and propane tank in March 2020 and the experience was excellent. Company Vice President Craig Douglas and Area Director Steve Doornbos have established processes and procedures to ensure excellent customer service and their hard work shows. From planning and permitting -- all the way to installation -- everything was done right and on time. All APS employees from Craig and Steve to office personnel working on scheduling and permitting, to electricians, gas line technicians and generator installers, as well as those handling propane delivery and orientation, were friendly and helpful in answering questions and always highly professional. Crystal Richardson was the employee that assisted me. At the end of my installation, when all the field work was done, I called Crystal Richardson to make my final payment and advised her that when the generator fired up for it's bi-weekly running session, I was not contacted by email, as advised by the sales rep and installation team. Crystal Richardson looked into the situation and advised that my email listed was incorrect. Crystal Richardson fixed the issue, and had a test email sent out to me within a half hour. APS should be proud of employees like Crystal Richardson for the training and supervision that she demonstrates. My experience with working with APS has been stellar. Rick & Aj are two of their team that installs the electric part of the generator. They were always willing to answer any and all questions i had. They showed me respect and gave me answers the entire time they were at my home. two thumbs up!!!!! I had the same great experience with all the other teams that were sent to the job site. Will Ferrigno and team..... People owe you 5 star reviews across the board. Rather than price gouging, you kept prices on propane below market. Rather than close down and hide, you stayed open and helped people. What more could people ask for? My family sat and watched as Irma came in.
