No, no, no! I awoke this AM with no hot water. Googled HVACs in my area and I recognized the name Astacio from vans around town. Called their number and I spoke with the AI. Annoyed, I had no choice and I desperately needed service because cold showers are no fun. The AI dutifully took all my info down, and even simulated the sound of typing whilst I answered "her" questions of what was going wrong. I secured an appointment for tomorrow. Score! Not so fast..... I then received a call at 3:15pm today from a human at Astacio who told me that the AI shouldn't have booked the appointment and the earliest available would be six days from today. And now that I'm getting this update at the end of the day, I'm out of time to call other vendors to scour for an earlier appointment. And she broke this news of her insubordinate AI to me AFTER 1) spending five minutes with me asking all sorts of detailed questions about my house, heater etc and 2) putting me on hold for five minutes. When she broke the news to me that I didn't in fact have an appointment, at least not one in the physical world, I asked her if she was insane. read more

Astacio Plumbing is probably the worst business I've ever encountered - both from a business operations point of view and in terms of the quality of their work. I originally called them for a thermostat install. Upon arrival the technician noticed that I needed another power adapter to install the thermostat properly. He also noticed that the water gage on my steam boiler had been improperly installed and offered to fix it. I allowed it. [BIG MISTAKE] Anyway, when the power adapter that they told me to order arrived, I called them for 3 days straight to get a follow up visit. Each person who answered the phone had a different story - Bryan claimed I need to sign an estimate that they sent (they never sent it). Another person said that no signature was required since I verbally. The very next person after that said the opposite. They do not return calls. They do not follow up. The company has the institutional memory of a fruit fly and, worst of all, they just don't care. Back to the boiler - Today when I was in my boiler room, I noticed that the gage was NOT on the boiler. The weasel of a technician actually broke the gage, left my house and said NOTHING. I have used Anastasio as our main plumber and also HVAC installations over the last few years, but as of 2026 they have made it impossible to talk to the company directly. they use a virtual assistant that sounds like a human so you think you are talking to an actual person. when you ask to talk to a real person, anyone who works at the company, literally just anyone with a heartbeat, the virtual assistant will transfer you to another live agent at a call center. Then, when you ask that live agent for help with your account, they say they can't provide you any information and will send your number to the company and then the company will get back to you. But then the company doesn't get back to you. this is the weirdest most backwards way to keep overhead down. the customer has to jump through hoops to schedule a maintenance call. There are a dozen different phone numbers online all directly connected to this company and none of them seem to actually call an office. I've been a loyal customer but am taking my business elsewhere so I can actually get the work done that I need. read more

Do not use this company for basic needs!!! i Have used Astacio for several years to service my Air Conditioning, Heating and have found them to be thorough and fairly priced. A week ago I had them come to my house to change a single pole faucet in my kitchen. There were no leaks no issue other than the other faucet lost its handle. Shame on me for not checking the price before hand. I was not home when they did the installation but could not imagine costing more than 250-350.00. Just to verify I went on Angie's list and I was right. They charged me 800.00!!!! With a 100.00 discount so I payed 700.00 more than double the cost of the faucet.... I called several times to express my complaint to a manager but not even the courtesy of a return call... They have now lost my business. I paid monthly for an annual maintenance plan for my heating/AC units. The first year they conducted a thorough service of both systems and provided me with a detailed report of what they did. Their service took hours. This year they came and the technician was at my home for twenty minutes. He turned the units on and off and checked the filters (which were clean). That's it. I called to ask for someone to come back and do the same service as last year and was told a manager would call me who never did. I followed up and was first told the technician was "training" someone else which is why it was so thorough. I told them only one technician was at my home. Then I was told the technicians can choose what to do and the thorough service the first technician conducted was not part of my "agreement". My agreement didn't specify in detail the level of service to be completed. I asked for a refund and my call was disconnected. I've tried to call back and my number is blocked. In the past Astacio has sent me invoices for work I've already paid for. I thought it was an error but now I understand that this is how they operate. Do not do business with them. Needed two new water shut off valves. One on each side of the meter. The area was easily accessible and only required walking up and then kneeling down. The valves are about $25 each. Charged $1,100. They removed a 44 year old oil furnace and put in a new propane fired furnace and a new AC condenser outside with no damage to our walls or floors. Nilson and Felix explained everything I needed to know how to use the new thermostats and HVAC/Heat systems. Used this company 3 times over the past 2 years and i have had worse and worse experience each time. First their charge to "open a wall" has gone from 250 to 375 to now 500 dollars. The most recent time I had them come to repair a shower drain and they said "we can only repair the shower if we open up the ceiling below but we have no idea if we will be able to fix it, even if we cant fix it you will be charged 500 dollars for opening the wall and over 150 for the visit. Technicians are clearly under skilled and their whole goal is to get more money from you, guess that's what happens when a plumbing company get sold to PE. read more

VERY expensive for what you get. I understand we have to pay for a plumbers time but my service call was to replace a $7 7 in ch PVC pre-made, standard part for under my sink. (House is 4 years old.) $99 just to come look and final price was $250! He was in and out of my home in 15 minutes, tops. Much of that was smoozing me into proceeding to pay the $250. Wish I could give them 0 stars. We had them come out last winter to service our furnace. Within a month of them coming out our furnace stopped working. They claimed to have replace the filter, but our filter was clearly not replaced. We replace our filter every 3 months. This past week we had to have an emergency repair because our furnaced stopped working. Our condensation tube was filled with so much mud and buckets of water had to be dumped. I called and spoke to Nolan, he told me a manager would get back to me within 24 hours..nothing. Called back and spoke with Vanessa, she told me a manager would get back to me within 24 hours...nothing. Called back for the THIRD time and spoke with Ivy and finally had the manager, Micheal Bennet call me back. They clearly didnt clean our condensation tube last year when they serviced our furnace. Was not apologetic and emphasized the situation and the fact that I had to pay $190 to get the condensation tube cleaned, which they should have done last year. Well done! Returned from a brief vacation only to find our central HVAC system essentially non-functional/hanging on by a thread. Since our HVAC company of nearly 20 years no longer does residential work, was left with the task of expediently engaging a new provider--something often easier said than done in this post-Covid business climate with lots of remote interactions, long wait times and equipment bottlenecks. Astacio/Sila proved more than up to the task: 1. Offered to show up for an initial diagnostic check within 24 hours 2. Managed to come to terms with me on two new heat pumps, one attic air handler/back up electric heat and one propane furnace with one conveniently scheduled, same day appointment as the service call 3. Came back for the install on the next business day (sales appt was Fri; install commenced Mon) 4. Got the job done in 2 days instead of the promised 2 1/2 5. Let the premises clean, with all new systems running well Net, net: Least expensive? Probably not. Robert Clarke inspected our HVAC unit since it malfunctioned and instead of cooling, it was heating up the house and during the summer for this to happen was the worst. He was so patient and informative considering this is a foreign language to me since my husband usually handles these things. We needed a old oil burner cleaned, it had a sooting problem. Previous cleans by other contractors were no more than $350. We were charged nearly $800. The technician spent 44 minutes actually doing the job. We asked for a quote on a new oil burner which came out at $3000 more than 2 other quotes we received from different sources. After checking their website online we saw offers for $1500 dollars off purchases and 18 months interest free credit. We were offered no discount and 12 months free credit. read more

Dreadful experience. We had been customers of Astacio since 2015 when they installed our first tankless boiler which failed completely after 7 years and needed to be replaced in late 2022. ($10,000+) Their second one just stopped working; a dodgy board? The part is under warranty but they want almost $1,000 to replace it in the boiler; probably less than 2 hours work. I thought they used to be a good local business with ties to the community but be careful; their tankless boilers seem to very unreliable and they'll try to rip you off when your heat goes out in the winter. We were in emergency need of two new furnaces and they sent a representative out within hours on the same day of the request to provide a quote. He was knowledhaeable and incredibly helpful and pleasant to work with, and we decided to go with Astacio over our regular provider. The scheduled the install the very next day- as they knew we were without heat with a chilly weekend coming up. The installers were amazing, did a thorough job and were immaculate in the clean up post installation. 5 stars all around! read more

I needed a $200 part replaced on my AC system, technician came and analyzed the problem in less than 1/2 hour. When he returned the new part was intalled in under an hour - so call it 1 1/2 hours total time "on site". The bill was $850, which the Tech informed me they bill flat rates now and not actual repair time. So the Tech was great, knew his stuff, was professional and courteous - but under the new management the pricing is ridiculous. read more

Excellent service technician (Chris the Plumber) but Astacio charged $450 to install an $8 flapper on a 1950s toilet--then when the flush pipe snapped (because the flapper didn't stay sealed, had to lift the tank lid and hold the flapper down while the tank filled to my elbow, accidentally nudged the flush pipe and it snapped off), Astacio wanted another $450 to install a new flush pipe. Throughout, they kept offering a new toilet, and kept repeating that their work is not warrantied nor guaranteed. WAY too expensive, especially after I'd told them 6 weeks ago what I needed was a new Douglas flush assembly, and they tried to piecemeal the repairs over several weeks. The hot water heater they installed for me last year was great though expensive--I won't call them for any plumbing repairs, awful business model and much too expensive. Needed a new water heater. The service technician came out right away and assessed the problem. In less the 24hrs they removed the old system and replaced it with a much better one. The first service technician who came out, Luis, was very helpful and knowledgeable and guided us through making the right decision on the new unit. I'm giving them 2 stars because they were pretty consistent with their communication from the time I requested service to diagnose my AC issue. I received calls to schedule and confirm my appointment window at least twice the week of my appointment. I was given an appointment window of 2pm-5pm. On the day of my appointment I received a confirmation call, then another call around 3pm to let me know my technician may be coming closer to the end of my window because he was behind in service calls - I said "no problem, thanks for letting me know". Then I received another call closer to 5pm because my technician was several towns away and that he would be here around 6pm and that I would not be charged for him arriving after hours - again, "no problem". By 6:30pm, my tech still hadn't arrived and I didn't receive any additional communication since the office closes at 5pm. I contacted the only number I had, which after hours becomes their emergency line. I explained what was going on, and asked if someone could please give me a real ETA. I was informed someone would call me back. A few minutes after I hung up, I received a text notification on my phone with the name of my tech, a little history on my tech and that he was "on the way!". It was clear to me this notification was automated and was probably sent out when he was dispatched. He finally arrived at 7pm, and when I opened the door his greeting to me was "Good morning!" with no apology for being late. He put on shoe booties to walk through my house (a good thing) and he proceeded to ask me questions about my unit and issue and tried to educate me on my system and how it works....not a bad thing generally, but when you're 2 hours late AFTER my 3 hour window and you don't acknowledge being late, I don't want a lesson - I want a diagnosis, a remedy and how much it's going to cost me. Anyway, long story short, he told me my furnace blower is fried and that it would cost me $1,700 and in the same breath tries to sell me on their finance plan...we had a brief exchange once I rejected that idea. While we ended on a friendly thanks-but-no-thanks note, I opened my front door later and found that he left his used shoe booties on my front porch for me to throw away. I called the compagny to fix myheating system. I was at work and the guy said I needed a part that costs $350. I asked him to go ahead and do the work but I insisted I need the receipt for that part from the store. He went to the store and came back to say : the part wasn't available and that it will be delivered the next day while the temperature was going down to 34. Shouldn't he call the store instead of going and charging me for that time?I asked him to give me the name of the part and that I will find it.. he did not and few minutes later he called back to say they found the part. So they charged an excessive amount of money for labor plus an excessive amount of the part which I googled and it was not near the price I was charged. We exchanged few phone calls the same day and next day ..while I was asking about the proof of price this is what he said: " .As per our conversation I am not sure why I have to prove to you how much we paid...the supply house will put what ever price I want on the invoice. If it was possible to give no stars they deserve it. They were called in this morning to fix and issue with a boiler leak. The young man who was dispatched seemed to have been untrained or clueless as to what needed to be done. He may have overheard my frustration at his ineptitude and immediately got on his phone. He then proceeded to walk past me without a word and got into his van and left. Perhaps this is how they conduct business on a normal day. If I hadn't shown my immediate distrust and disgust, I am sure I would have been handed a very large bill for time spent there and nothing fixed. I hesitate to give a bad review because I have had 2 really great experiences with very helpful technicians. However, a gentleman named Rob came to a service call at our house today and stunk up my entire home with cigarette smoke, dirtiness, and then went back to his truck to spray a ton of cologne (which was then even worse than the original smell). I called the office asking if someone could mention this to him and was told it was overstepping their boundaries to do so. I have a child with significant allergies who has been coughing all afternoon after his visit and I imagine other clients would feel the same about not having their home smelling terribly and their children getting sick. The office manager did say she would make a note to not send Rob to our home again (which is appreciated) but it does not solve the problem of this happening to other people. read more
