This spot is the definition of amazing food, service, and ambiance. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh and it really is because of both the food and the servers. I absolutely adore the servers here, as they're always super happy to give me new recommendations on what to order! Their wings are the literally best wings I've ever had, and I especially love that you can get them smoked to get that charred flavor. My favorite flavors are the mango habanero and the spicy lime, but there are still so many flavors I'm excited to try. I also love ordering a side of seasoned fries and garlic bread to dip into the extra wing sauce!! Their fries and garlic bread are crispy to perfection; you genuinely won't find better anywhere else. I also tried the chicken bacon ranch pizza as per their recommendation, and it was soooo cheesy and yummy! Aside from the food being so delicious, my favorite part about coming here is the sense of community you get. They have couches and TVs where customers love to sit to enjoy their food, and it makes for a super cozy and comfortable environment. I also notice so many regulars who love this restaurant and come back either weekly or daily, and it really shows how great the store's bond is with their customers. This is probably my go-to spot to show people when they visit Pittsburgh because it really highlights the city in such a positive light. Pastoli's hit the mark for me as I was looking for something I could pick up while heading into town and take back to my room. I had already done some Yelp research and called on my way and ordered the Buffalo Chicken Pizza. It was a little spicy, for me it was fine but if you don't like spice don't order this pizza. It had french fries on it so I couldn't pass this pizza up. It was very good, my only issue which wasn't a big one is that when I called I was placed on hold for several minutes and had to hang up and call back. A New Yorker walks into a Pittsburgh Pizza shop. Pittsburgh is a little light on vegan restaurants so I opted for a pizza place with vegan options and I must say, I was very impressed. Ordered a medium pizza with banana peppers, a chick'n parm hoagie and a buffalo chicken wedgie, which was described as an un-enclosed calzone with less cheese so you won't hate yourself for eating the whole thing. Everything was really good (the Buffalo wedgie could've benefitted from some kind of ranch sauce to counteract the heat) and the pizza could hold up even in NY. I think that my previous review was a bit harsh to say the least. For this reason I am writing an update. Also, because at work we just ordered from here for everyone's lunch. We got three pizzas, a pepperoni, a hawaiian and a plain gluten free pizza. All three were pretty decent pizzas. The gluten free was the most interesting because I have never had that kind of pizza before. The crust was thick, dense, soft, but chewy. It was very interesting. I kind of wish that my co-worker hade ordered it with some toppings, but hey, it's free pizza. Anyways, Pastoli's hits the just passable mark for me. It is cool that they offer vegan and gluten free. I really didn't like their vegan pie, so that kind of sucks. The gluten free is worth trying, it is not bad. So, cheers for Pastoli's. read more

Solid pizza place with a lot of portions for people on certain diets (vegan, gluten free, etc). Prices for some items are a little expensive and portions are just okay, but quality seems relatively high. I ordered the regular cheese pizza and caramel cinnamon puffs for dessert. The pizza was pretty standard. I thought the crust was on the thicker side, while I prefer it thinner, but it wasn't bad. Nice crispness on the edges but not so much in the middle. Adequate amount of cheese, and even distribution. Good amount of lightly sweet sauce. I really liked their homemade ranch, and I think it's definitely worth getting on the side. It's less than a dollar extra for a nice little cup. Its super creamy and flavorful, and goes really well with the pizza crust. The cinnamon puffs were quite good. They are essentially little pieces of fried dough with a cinnamon sugar dusting. Good portion for the price. The caramel was a little liquidy but still good. Nice dessert. All in all, this is a solid place for pizza and other similar items. It is especially good if you are a vegan or follow a gluten-free diet. I would definitely recommend trying their ranch regardless of what you order as your entree. read more

I can't say enough about this family owned small business that my son and I popped into randomly. The staff are just delightful providing suggestions and checking on you. The decor has a nice at home feel with even couches to have your meal watching the tv which is where we watched the game! The prices are very good and food mouthwatering. There are six packs and single beers to purchase with a huge variety to select. My son had the chicken fingers and fries while I had the spinach and feta rolls (my son hates veggies and stole some of mine). Highly recommend! read more

We like trying new pizza places, and Pastoli's did not disappoint! We ordered a pizza and some cheese fries online. Our food was ready for pickup within 25 minutes, which I thought was reasonable. The pie had a good ratio of cheese, sauce, and toppings. Another thing I that I thought was unique about Pastoli's is that they have a gluten free and vegan menu, which I think is great! My husband and I were visiting Phipps, and were craving pizza after our visit. I hopped onto my Yelp app and Pastoli's was the first restaurant listed. It had an excellent review rating, so we decided to give it a try! The restaurant is located in a corner shop in Squirrel Hill. It appeared as though on-street parking was the only method of parking for the shop. Thankfully it was a quiet Saturday and we were able to find a parking spot with no issues. Pastoli's has a large sign out front, so you can't miss it. The restaurant has ample seating for couples and small families, but I wouldn't plan a big party to dine in at this location. The restaurant was clean, modern, and welcoming. They have a big sofa by the window facing a large screen tv that was playing basketball games. I thought this was a creative alternative for people to relax and enjoy pizza comfortably. We ordered an extra large pizza with half green peppers and half pepperoni. I believe an extra large is a 16-cut, so it will feed a small group. The pizza was EXCELLENT! Everything from the crust, to the sauce, to the toppings tasted fresh. This would be my new go-to pizza place if I didn't live so far away.They also offer gluten free and allergy-friendly versions of their pizza, and offer other forms of pasta, hoagies, and appetizers. I ordered a small Basil Pesto Pizza and it had no Pesto flavor whatsoever. None. I called and the manager, Chris, told me it is the same Pesto Sauce that they've used for 8 years. I had eaten 1/2 of 1 piece, and Chris asked me to send a photo, which I did. He called back a few minutes later and reiterated the earlier message that it is the same Pesto Sauce that they've used for 8 years. While in town for my daughter's basketball tournament we decided we wanted some pizza. One catch....as a nursing mom my son has a dairy and peanut allergy so I was worried if we would find a place that made vegan pizzas. I checked yelped and this was the first place on the list. I did my due diligence and I checked their website and right away I was impressed as it mentioned how they separate their kitchen from regular food (allergens) and the non allergen food. I called to place my order and the girl taking my order was super helpful answering my questions and she was genuinely nice. I ordered a large cheese pizza and a large vegan pizza and added crumbled sausage on it. The girl politely informed me that the cheese on the vegan pizza was a vegan, non dairy mozzarella cheese. 25 mins later I arrived to pick it up and the aroma was so amazing as soon as I opened the door. Good social distancing partitions up and you could see the kitchen from the counter. Nice and clean! Awesome. The ride back to the hotel was so intense as I wanted to eat the pizza while driving as it smelled so good. As we opened the box the pizza even looked amazing. My daughter groaned so loud with her first bite and stated this was the best pizza she has ever had. My fiance said the same as they had the regular cbeese pizza. I started cutting up the vegan pizza for my son and he immediately was quiet and not playing around as usual with his food. He was putting it in and ensuring he got more very quickly. When I finally took my first bite I was floored as this pizza was phenomenal! Trust me this place is a MUST hands down. If you want pizza this is the place. Period. Do not look any further. As someone diagnosed with a gluten allergy later in life, losing the ability to eat a delicious sub or pizza was definitely a bummer. Pastoli's has subs that, while gluten free, taste exactly like the real thing. Their pizza is equally as delicious, and it's such a huge relief to not have to worry about cross-contamination with fried foods as well. I've eaten in the restaurant and ordered it to go or for delivery, and every time it's delicious. My personal favorite is the Italian hoagie, with cajun fries. As a kid I spent way too much time in this storefront when it was West Coast Video, begging my parents to let me rent something. I've become a huge fan of this place. I usually order the spaghetti and meatballs with garlic bread and a salad but today I thought I would continue to test the menu. I ordered a small white pizza and a order of loaded potatoe skins. I picked it up in about 20 minutes and the white pizza was perfect. The dough was airy but not too thick, tomatoes were fresh and there was an ample amount of cheese. The potatoe skins stole the show though! Ugh. I WISH they delivered to my house in Mt. Lebo! This is a great gluten free pizza option in the East End. Might be one of the better GF pizzas I've had. I say might because I bet "fresh outta the oven" is the way to enjoy this pizza. My pizza was very good but I think would have been awesome if it was piping hot. But hey, that's delivery. Next time, it's going into the toaster oven and I bet it would perk right up! I loved all the ingredient in my chicken, bacon pizza. I really like the pizza here; the crust is a little thicker and chewier than I like, and they also go with a touch more cheese than is necessary (both of these things are very Pittsburgh), but overall. Easily my favorite pizza place in Pittsburgh! I left Pittsburgh in 2019 and recently went back for a short trip. Let me say Pastoli's is everything I remember it to be. It's a shame I had to travel back. I usually get a simple cheese pizza. It's the right kind of greasy without being overbearing. And the sauce is proportionate to the cheese. I wasn't aware of Pastoli's until a friend recommended I try it. Every pizza place deserves a chance so I decided to see what makes this place any different than the scores of other pizza places located in the area. Anyone who is willing to enter the ring with Aiello's and Mineo's nearby earns my attention. First impression: It doesn't look like a pizza shop. The warm lighting and comfy seating throughout reminded me of a coffee café. Never hurts to look inviting whatever you are selling. I was quickly greeted and asked for my order. I decided to go with a few slices of pizza they had ready. I picked up the pizza box and immediately realized these are not wimpy weighing slices at all. I needed two hands to carry them! The pizza tasted good and it is certainly worth another visit in order to try out some of the other menu selections. Besides offering their traditional and specialty pizzas they serve a nice variety of allergen-friendly, vegan, and gluten-free menu items. More so than any other pizza place I have seen. The starters include fun things like corn puppies and the amazing queso sticks. Salads, hoagies, wedgies, wings, calzones, pasta dishes are also available. They even have a few dessert choices. Caramel cinnamon puffs sounds like a nice finish to your meal. I thank my friend for the recommendation and hope to return to Pastoli's soon. I decided to try this restaurant despite my skeptical for vegan or gluten free pizza. I was surprised after I received my order. Delivery timeliness 5/5 - it normally takes forever for me to receive my order in the my past from other restaurant Pizza 4/5 - I only had their meat pizza and it was pretty good.
