Everything was delicious! It's such a cute little eatery, service is always quick, and the food is top notch. The price for the portions is one of the best in the city!

I heard great things about the Italian food at Legends and had to try it for myself. When we arrived, it wasn't busy at all, which I liked. The inside is cute and cozy, and the menu is simple and straightforward. Our waitress was friendly, shared the specials of the day, and provided excellent service. We ordered a pizza as an appetizer, and I got the chicken Parmesan along with the red velvet cake. The entree and appetizer came out hot, fresh, and satisfying. The portions are on the heavier side, so I had to take some home. I'm so glad I came as this place lived up to my expectations. I'll definitely be back. By the way, you can bring your own alcohol here.

Penne ala vodka was tasty and a nice sized portion. The greens and beans were my fav and I think it's possibly because of one of the greens in the mix. Not bad just not my fav. Their salads that come with entree are small and the ranch wasn't traditional.

Came in with some family and had a absolutely lovely meal of gnocchi bolognese, delicious. Comfortable inside decked with Steelers memories and really good service. No complaints.

This was my first time for my friends birthday. It was so cute and homey. The food came out hot and fresh and everything was great. I absolutely will be back to try more!

We had a wonderful dinner at Legends on a supposed to be eventful night. We had reservations for a Wednesday before a concert, but the concert was canceled. We decided to keep our reservations, and I am so glad we did! We had arancini and a pizza for an appetizer. The bread along with the arancini was so tasty! The pizza was good not great...try something else at this amazing establishment. My husband and I shared two dinners. We shared the penne vodka and the shrimp pasta...both were delicious! We can not wait to go back and try something other dishes

Legends Eatery opened in 2002 and serves old-school Italian-American cuisine in a casual atmosphere. Its menu lists appetizers such as mussels and meatballs, entrees such as veal parmigiano and fettuccini alfredo, and desserts such as fried cannolis and chocolate cake. The restaurant serves beverages such as sodas, coffees, and teas but is BYOB for alcohol. The restaurant's website recommends making a weekend reservation at least two weeks in advance, so I instead ordered food through their website for pickup. After 24 minutes, the restaurant emailed me that my food was ready. The restaurant is located near Allegheny General Hospital and appears to have limited parking, so my husband dropped me off and drove around the neighborhood while I went inside the restaurant to pick up the food. An employee immediately and kindly greeted me, handed over my bag of food, asked if I needed any utensils, and thanked me. Here are my reviews for my foods: Penne blackened shrimp ~ $21 - 4.5 stars - The penne pasta was cooked well, and it was topped with delicious shrimp, cherry tomatoes, portobello mushrooms, oil, and garlic. On the side were a small salad with my choice of balsamic dressing and an add-on of a few small slices of focaccia bread. Caesar salad ~ $18 - 3.5 stars - The mixed greens, olives, red peppers, and cheese were very fresh. I had not ordered chicken, but the restaurant included chicken. Caesar dressing was in separate containers. Meatball parm sandwich ~ $17 - 3 stars - My husband ordered this hoagie, and he ate only half of it. The hoagie roll was from Breadworks, and it contained large meatballs, cheese, and sauce. On the side was a small salad with mixed greens, carrots, onions, cucumbers, cheese, and my husband's choice of ranch dressing. Mozzarella ~ $10 - 3 stars - Large triangular chunks of mozzarella cheese were fried, and my husband ate most of them. On the side was marinara sauce. I also had ordered a 6.75-ounce bottle of Perrier for ~ $6, but I did not have a bottle opener to open it, so I saved it for later.

My friend and I had dinner at Legends on a Tuesday night before attending an event in the area. I've visited several times in the past with older family members, and the crowd during our visit this time around matched that same demographic. I ordered the penne vodka (with plenty to take home) that came with my choice of wedding soup. My friend ordered the mozzarella small plate as her meal. We had no problem finding a table on a Tuesday night around 5:30pm, but I would recommend a reservation if wanting to visit during a peak time as it is a small dining area. Also note that it's BYOB.

Legends probably doesn't need another glowing review, and maybe I just had a little more BYOB wine with my meal, but I feel the need to gush a bit. Since we discovered this place several years ago, it's been one of our go-to places on trips to Pittsburgh. Attentive servers, excellent ingredients, intriguing specials, and standard favorites make dining here a place where anyone can find the dinner of comfort and joy. Tonight we enjoyed the crispy polenta with roasted red peppers and sweet Italian sausage in a garlic aioli as a warm up. Those greens and beans are always perfect too and are standard fare on the menu. You may save room for house made desserts, though I wouldn't count on it, since you'll need a lot of spare space, as their portions are hefty. Eating at Legends always leaves me with a warm, fuzzy feeling, and I'm sure it's not just the wine.

I love Legends. It's a very small place with a homey feel. The staff are all super nice and willing to explain anything. I've never had anything bad here. My go-to is the spinach ravioli, which is simple but so delicious and a very good portion. There desserts are insane. Trust me, you need to get one (or multiple) even if you are full and know you will have leftovers because their cake slices are ginormous. It can be hard to get in here because of the limited seating, but so worth it.

Family owned delicious Italian foods & dessert restaurant located in the North Side. This restaurant is BYOB, highly recommend reservation if you're going on the weekend- they have a very small bar area that's open seating. The most fresh and incredible pasta! Their coconut cream pie is to die for!!!

Legends is always a great choice! It's BYOB with a cozy atmosphere, delicious food, and great service. We went on a Wednesday night and had one of the best gnocchi dishes I've had in a long time--they make them by hand! The bolognese sauce was perfect, and we started with a tasty pastini soup (daily special). Ideal spot for a date night! Only thing I'd note is that they gave us water cups for the wine instead of wine glasses, which threw me off a bit (I'm particular about my stemware!).

It is a very cozy Italian restaurant that's serving homemade Italian food like your Nonna would make for you. We showed up on a Tuesday night and it was packed. It was around six or 6:30 in the evening and when we first got there, we were told it would be about a 20 minute wait before a two top was available. But the host came back and asked if we didn't mind sitting by the kitchen they could see us right away. We chose to sit by the kitchen, which honestly was probably the best option because it was actually a little bit quieter because there was a very large party that was celebrating a birthday and they had live music going on so it was hard to hear when you were in the main dining space but back by the kitchen it's a little bit quieter and we could actually hear ourselves talk. My husband got the penne with meatballs and the penny was nicely cooked with a beautiful tomato Bass sauce and the meatballs or some of the best Italian meatball he's ever had. His only complaint was that there were only two in the order and he wished there would've been three. I got the spinach and ricotta, stuffed ravioli, and by far one of the best raviolis I've ever had. The ravioli are large so there's only about five in a dish but they're packed fully and the flavoring and seasoning is absolutely spectacular. It's got a beautiful sauce like accompanies it and the chew you can definitely tell it is handmade pasta/ravioli. Our server, Emma was absolutely spectacular and was so kind. We truly enjoyed our experience here and would highly recommend anybody to check it out if you're in the area. But we also do recommend make your reservations ahead of time. The waitresses are friendly and have great recommendations. I got to try their linguine rustica (essentially the clam pasta dish), a cappuccino, some cherry soda, and soup of the day, as well as complimentary bread. They got that bread out very quickly! Very soft, and served with quite high quality olive oil. The bottle has both olive oil and balsamic! The soup of the day was quite good as well. It was some sort of beef broth, I think may a beef and bean soup. Chickpeas in there as well. Next time, I might try the salad. The salad they have as a side is so good, an amazing portion and seems so fresh and tasty. The mains were excellent. Very good pasta with clam sauce. Lots of clam meat and a flavorful oil based sauce. My friend had some red penne with chicken and enjoyed that as well. Great portions, pretty fair prices. Finally, great drinks as well. Very memorable cherry cola that I believe the company is owned by the owner's son. Real cane sugar, very good. The cappuccino was great as well. Definitely come here!

AVP is excellent, by the way. We have been twice in the last couple of months. Front of House Team was excellent both visits. Our bartender/servers have been gracious and attentive. First visit was carbonara and beet salad; good but not life-changing. Second visit started with Frito Misto. Excellent. Bright, crispy and perfectly finished. The linguine is served with crab meat. I found it to be a glutinous mess. I'm not sure what happened in the kitchen. The mushroom side plate was under seasoned. Our friend who got the spaghetti loved it. Mushroom pasta was excellent with nicely cooked pasta and thorough mushroom taste. Our friends were very pleased with this plate. The chopped salad is perfectly dressed and is completely delicious. It was a treat. My lovely counterpart had the halibut piccata. She commented that it was "slightly overcooked." This is charitable: it was completely hammered. "It had the texture of chicken." The sauce was conspicuous by its sparsity; just not much flavor going on. She also observed that first bite was gritty, as if greens were inadequately cleaned. This dish has enormous potential, but it just wasn't delivered. This dish was palatable only by having the tomatoes on the vine as a side. My lovely counterpart on the Tomatoes on the Vine side: "I didn't love it, but it was necessary." She generally loves this sort of preparation but again, it just wasn't there. Cheesecake was great. Our server was excellent and attentive. Amanda, the assistant manager, was too busy to chat with us even though the house was mostly empty. Our table had two bottles of wine, ordered by the glass instead of by the bottle. The wine pours are staged outside of the bar, so the bartender wasn't involved. We are still at a loss to understand why Amanda was not willing to consider giving us even one of the bottles' worth at the bottle price and why she shut down our waitress when she asked. It seems like a weird hill to plant your flag on, and entirely inconsistent with our more than 30 years experience with Big Burrito. This is the first time we have experienced anything like this in a Big Burrito restaurant; truly bizarre and our poor server was clearly uncomfortable relaying the decision. We hadn't made any observations about the food to her and were having a great time even with kitchen's inconsistency. We might try again at some point: some of the dishes were great and there is clearly potential.
