$150 to remove a couple stickies to hang stuff
    Lauren R.

DO NOT LIVE HERE UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE CHARGES HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS UPON MOVE OUT The only reason that I am giving Aston 2 stars is because the door staff is amazing!! Other than that I would never recommend living here or any Greystar property. The first couple years were great, until we starting having issues with a barking dog. It would bark 3-4 NIGHTS a week, and only barked at night. I have multiple videos and voice recordings for proof but the office said they could not do anything because they had to catch it while it was happening. That was obviously impossible because they are not there in the evenings. They said there was no way to know that it was the specific unit I kept telling them it was, even though the door staff would call that resident, they would have someone come pick up the dog, and the barking would stop. They offered us to transfer units, but I did not want to go through that hassle when they had proven they couldn't resolve the issue if it were to start happening in a new unit. They would take DAYS (sometimes 3-5 when the office is open every day) to respond to my email and just stopped responding or acknowledging my emails. They would not let us move out earlier either even though I was unable to sleep a few nights a week or would be woken up from the dog barking. Once we decided to move out things got worse. They were being very difficult in letting my movers schedule an elevator and start at 8am. They could not provide the written policy and were clearly trying to make things very difficult for us. They said they would make an "exception" to let our movers park 30 minutes earlier, but again could not provide any written policy to this made up rule (see photos of email attached) After moving out, we received a bill of $800 for "damages" with no explanation. I had to reach out to the office to be provided with information. They would not answer any phone calls and were purposely ignoring my calls until I got ahold of someone in their corporate office that sent them a note. They charged me $150 to removed a couple of curtain hangers that were stuck to the metal rolling shade cover. The only reason we had to put these up in the first place was because the "roller shades" basically do nothing to block out the light and then you wake up whenever the sun rises, which is around 5am in the summer. We were also charged $650 to replace the stove top that was chipped. When they replaced the 2 burner stove that came with our apartment it was during covid and the only option they had was to put in one that was already chipped. They didn't even know they put this new stove in when they sent me the move in condition form to try and say we didn't mark this as a defect upon moving in, so they clearly don't keep detailed records. We had waited 4 months for another stove top that had a vent and on the day of installation they told us they were unable to install that one and had to pivot to using something they had on hand. Mind you, this was the middle of covid so it was impossible to get parts and at that point we didn't care if it had a small chip in it since we waited over 4 months for it. I'm attaching a photo they sent me of the tiny chip that they are claiming we damaged and now they are charging us $650. The stove was usable for 3 years living there, so it just sounded like an excuse to exploit past residents to pay for their upgrades. I will never even consider living in a building managed by Greystar again. I have never had any issues like this in any of the other apartments that I have lived in.

Still plenty of room in my convertible to film a music video :)

I've been living here for about 3 years and I've been through the ownership/management/maintenance personel changes, and I have to say this is hands down the BEST team any building in Chicago could ask for! Starting from Management and leasing, (Carrisa, Timea, Kevin, Gina) they are kind, thoughtful and are top professionals at what they do. They have transformed this building into a true luxury building in Streeterville. When I often bring my real estate professionals for a visit, they are absolutely blown away at the interior design, decor and new layouts. (Great job team!) They also say this could be one of the best views a rooftop can have. Also - the building staff (Ish, Maria, Kevin, Denise, Montse, Nell) not only are great people and workers, they have all become friends. Last but certainly NOT least, the maintenance team led by a truly great guy Ray, has the best team in Chicago. Gabriel, Gerrard, Fausto are an amazing crew. Always there to help no matter what. With GREAT attitudes. They are hard workers I'm honored to call friends. Had to write this during this time of quarantine and I just wanted to say thank you to all the staff at the Aston. I truly appreciate everyone working so hard to keep us safe and informed during this time. I salute you all. Corey

Having lived in five cities and over eight apartment buildings, I must say that my experience living at The Aston has been the best. Whether it's the fantastic layout of my apartment, the location, the views - it's really second to none. In addition, the management team is friendly, responsive and always here to help with whatever I need! Add in the fantastic doormen, Ish and Kevin, and you've got yourself an awesome living experience! Highly recommend!

Worst building ever, management is not responsive
    Roberto L.

Worst living experience. Building has constant issues with water pressure, lifts, pool and spa often out of order. The management are often in delay with their communications of issues. They are not responsive in a speedy manner to address building and residents issues. You need chase them daily. On top of all they locked all windows and with poor cooking vents it is impossible to cook let alone live with no fresh air in a hot box. The positives of this building are the door men and ladies, the cleaners and the fabulous maintenance team. If not for them we would have left much sooner. If you are looking for luxury living don't waste time on Aston.

    Red W.

Thought things were changing but it only gets worst. The pool is closed from 12-6am for cleaning or suppose to be.... looks like it hasn't been clean for a while so much for luxury rental. On top of it they said they were putting in black out shades but instead I get a lock on the window ‍‍‍ do not move here plenty of buildings around especially with the construction at the Tribune Tower, this building is just become unlivable. They are heading towards just controlling the way you live restricting entrances, guest limit, window locks.

Aston has had our windows locked since December 2018, making it impossible to cook and properly ventilate the apartment or get any fresh air at all. And, to make matter worse, management has not explained why our windows are locked or when they will be reopened. Do not move here! It is not safe and terribly mismanaged!

    View from my bedroom... breathtaking.

It was working when we toured, but we have not seen it operational at any point since becoming residents. * Hot tub cleanliness: On February 28, 2026, when we turned on the hot tub jets, a grimy black film resembling dirt began accumulating in the water. I took photos that night (see attached). This raised serious concerns about maintenance and cleanliness. * Swimming lessons representation and lack of response: During our tour in November 2025, a leasing staff member told us that free swimming lessons were offered to renters, and we confirmed this multiple times because it mattered to us. After moving in, an onsite swimming instructor told us that, to his understanding, there are no free lessons. When we mentioned we had been told the lessons were free and asked whether he had heard similar questions from other residents, he told us yes. We emailed management on February 19, 2026 asking how to enroll or to clarify whether free lessons are offered, and as of March 1, 2026, we have not received any response. In other replies to reviews that complained about amenities, the rental office has said the hotel manages the amenities. But these amenities are still advertised as part of the residential experience, and from a resident perspective the distinction doesn't change the outcome--we relied on what was represented when deciding where to live. If these issues are resolved or clarified, I will update this review. For now, prospective residents should independently verify the current status and availability of any amenities that are important to them.

Let's start with management. Greg is smug, unfriendly, rude, intolerant, mean, arrogant, ill tempered, woke, a bully, quick to judge and a tyrant!!! The only decent person was Noah. The staff claims they are always busy. Busy doing nothing but gossiping all day long. They are lazy and unwilling to help. Especially Valery!!! They are constantly trying to sell things. Is it an apartment building or a department store? I am confused. The concierge's are worthless! The lobby is a revolving door! Never once did I receive a call when I had a guest or a delivery. I felt unsafe. Anyone can enter the building. Doubt what I say? Read the other comments on Google. The building itself is old fashioned and out dated. I was paying top dollar to live in a building with popcorn ceilings. The kitchen lacks. No cabinets space. The floor leave a sticky residue no matter how many times they are cleaned. The air conditioning system is the absolute worst! It's archaic. The halls are depressing and the walls are extremely thin. You could hear your neighbors making all kinds of noises throughout the night disturbing your peace. The maintenance team is sometimes rude and won't even acknowledge you even though you were kind and fed them. I was sexually harassed by two of their residents and I have the proof in a text. Again, the building is not safe. The pool has no stayed which makes it difficult to get in and out of the pool. The jacuzzis are never drained and cleaned. There is debris floating around the surface and the water levels are always lower than normal. I was falsely accused of banging on a wall for 20 minutes. Lmao!!! I have osteoporosis. I minded my own business and that wasn't enough. I fed their staff cookies, cakes, and homemade pizza for a few months including the concierge's without any acknowledgment or thanks. This is who they are. Thankfully I was fortunate enough to find a loft apartment with plenty of space, Bosch appliances, a modern apartment, an up to date air conditioning systems, top of the line kitchen appliances, whirlpool front load washer/dryer, hardwood floors and a safe secure building! Tenants are not rewarded for their loyalty. Instead they raise the rent each year and it's constantly rising. They don't update their property but want top dollar to reside in their garbage trash building. Unreal! Unfortunately I cannot in good conscience recommend the Streeter. Should you be considering moving into this complex I must warn you. Run like your the last two monkeys boarding Noah's Ark and it's starting to rain. No no and no!!! That's a hard no from me! Enter at your own risk! You've been warned folks!!!
