I had a chicken appetizer (Mirapakai Kodi) - marinated deep-fried battered chicken in a South Indian creamy spicy sauce, and the Chicken Hakka Noodles - stir fried chicken, noodles, eggs, and vegetables with Indian masala spices. Blown away by both dishes. The chicken is excellent, and the Hakka noodles were kind of like lomein noodles, but with an Indian twist. Absolutely outstanding. Ordered takeout from here, specifically the samosa chat. The food was finished sooner than I expected, and was very well secured and packaged. I wish the samosa chat was just a bit more spice and the samosa less soggy but that could just be from the delivery person. Regardless, it was good. They also left a treat that was very kind! The restaurant was almost empty and I was beginning to doubt my choice of a place to dine in. I was directed to where to sit. Once I received the menu I was pleasantly surprise that the menu clearly identifies the vegan dishes. I placed my order and the food came out quickly. It was hot and delicious. I've been wanting to try this place for a long time. And believe me I was not disappointed. The food was excellent. The only thing I could say is seems that the waitress didn't know much about the different dishes and she kept having to go ask someone. But the overall experience was very good. The young lady that takes your order at the front desk seems to speak broken English and does not like to explain any of the dishes. I've had her the last time and and I said that she didn't seem knowledgeable but I think she just doesn't understand or doesn't have the patience to answer too many questions. She gives you water with no ice and the food is can be spicy. she was annoyed that I asked for ice, which happened the last time. Is there an ice ration? When I asked for carry out containers she brought them and I asked if they have containers for the sauces she told me no and asked is this it rudely like don't ask me anything elses. I cannot believe they don't have containers for the sauces because people do order carry out from them which comes with different sauces. She seems lazy and very irritable if you ask too many questions. That is the only downfall but the food was excellent. I can see there was other patrons having the same problem with this young lady as they said it was their first time there and thought the young lady was new, but she isn't, and even if she was no excuse for her rudeness. As part of the Tour of Dearborn, found this place via google maps and went with this place since it was close to other joints we were visiting. They were closed from 2:30-5, I called at 4pm to see if I could place a pick-up order for 5pm. The phone was answered, but just hello is all I got... so I asked about placing an order, but was told to call back at 5pm. I called back at 5pm - ordered the following item: - samosa - butter chicken - biryani lamb - naan - plain, butter and garlic Naan's were decent, butter chicken was great, biryani lamb was good as well. We have been trying to get to an Indian Buffet for a LONG time. However, most Indian places are North of us, and we can never make it during the Lunch Hours. This place is new, and working out a few kinks. It looks like the dinner menu is pretty small for right now, and to be honest, the Lunch Buffet was much smaller than I expected. When you sit down, they bring you a pitcher of water. At first I just thought they were trying to avoid refilling waters, but after tasting the food, all of it was spicy, so you needed the water pitcher. There is not built-in buffet bar, but they set up tables at the end of the Dining Room, and put up Silver Chaffing Dishes to keep the food warm. There were maybe 10 pans on the buffet, two of them being rice. Most of the pans had only a little bit of the dish in there, so you had no option but to get a lot of sauce, or just a little meat/veggies. They did not seem to do a great job of refilling the pans. They were out of bread- which seemed pretty basic, for a while. The quality of most of the food was pretty good. I found two favorite dishes tho- the fried okra was really good, as well as the sweet noodle desert. I will try them again. read more

I have always wished there was an option for good Indian food in Dearborn, and finally we have one. Pros - plenty of selection on the buffet, food is high quality, authentic, and tasty, the buffet is a good value for what we pay. Cons - service can be spotty. The last time I went, everything was incredibly salty. There are often long waits at lunchtime. The interior (tables and chairs) was a bit shabby the first time I went, but they have since upgraded it a bit and you can no longer tell it's a former sports bar. Definitely try Charminar out! I hope to return for a non-buffet meal at some point, but so far I've only been at lunchtime and I can't help myself :) read more

We had Gobi 65, Chicken 65, Pakoras, Tandoori chicken, Lamb biryani, Chicken Biryani, Lamb Saag, Chicken Chettinad, Hakka Noodles, Butter Naan and Garlic Naan. Everything was delicious. All the curries had a unique flavor. Service was very good. They have a pretty extensive menu. Some Indo-Chinese dishes also. Some items were not available due to Covid19. WOW is this place good! They have quite an amazing lunch buffet. So good that sometimes there is a line out the door! I had such a great lunch, that I went back the next week for dinner take-out but unfortunately their menu is limited right now. That is ok, they are new and getting everything right. This place is a fraud. I thought it was linked with the Troy restaurant but this place is horrible. I just found out they have nothing to do with that location and stole their name. I had ordered a large family dinner and spent over $100 on food. I ordered fish pakora, mutton curry, chicken biryani, and kadhi pakora. The kadhi pakora isn't usual on their menu but they said they would have it all ready within 15 minutes. There is no way kadhi pakora takes 15 min to make. It looked like it was taken out of freezer. The water and yogurt had separated. And it was so sour that some member spat it out and other got stomach ache. They ruined my entire family gathering and we ended up throwing all their food out because it was so horrible. read more

Maybe they should put in the description of their foods to say what spice level we want. They also forgot the chutney that comes with the samosa. All in all I didn't really enjoy my meal because of the no chutney and no spice. Spices and chutney are the best pets of Indian food so it really took away from the experience. If I could give them zero stars, I would. We used to loved coming here because their food was good but their service has always been terrible. We live 30min away and ordered take out. They forgot half our order and did not believe us when we told them, they instead said they wanted to check the cameras. They call me back saying they gave our food to someone else and that we could come and pick it up again. Not only did they not believe us, but they needed to check the cameras. Then they said they could refund the order but kept repeating that we still had to pay them for the amount we received. Any other proper restaurant would have offered a full refund. We love the food but unfortunately the customer service here is terrible and the interior is not welcoming and really needs to be redone.
