I lived there for 55 years, and I must say that I wouldn't leave it even if I could. The neighbors are all wonderful, and so is the staff.

I am a current tenant at this building I would advise people not to rent here. Maintenance and…read moreupkeep are non-existent. someone constantly urinates in the elevator it doesn't get cleaned right away and it's very unsanitary. they're a lot of bums that walk through the building breaking into cars. The maintenance worker gets away leaving garbage around his unit while management always sends out threatening emails to tenants if they're seen leaving garbage in and around the building. The maintenances worker here does his job poorly it's Horrible .The maintenance worker also gets away with smoking cigarettes in his unit. I know this because I live in the unit above him and it smells constantly like stale cigarette in my bedroom, closet and bathroom I've sent numerous emails I never gotten a response and nothing has been done. The gate system is a sticker on a windshield that opens the gate but this system is constantly malfunctioning. Gates don't open so we have to go around the building to the other gate that's on the main Street and that causes significant amount of traffic when one gate is not working. Very stressful when you're trying to come home from work and your gate don't open. The replacement sticker will cost $200. Any type of complaint or repair that you're going to have while you're living here will be ignored or poorly done.. I hope this helps.

I recently left this building and I know they're "renovating" the empty apartments and jacking up…read morethe prices. By renovating I mean they use ply wood and cardboard to make entrances. if you decide to move in here there are some things you should be made aware of. This place is GHETTO. It's a slum, the owners and management are slumlords. The tenants are no better. They illegally shut off the water without giving 24 hours notice. They do it a couple of times a month, sometimes without warning. They're never in the office, or leave early. Idk why they bother to even post office hours at this point. They also constantly hire INCOMPETENT workers. Not to mention It's crawling with roaches and tweakers. They like to jump over from the alley behind the parking lot, they get strung out and lay on the ground. The building smells like crack during the day when it's quiet and at late at night. They used to sneak in and sleep in the laundry rooms. The laundry rooms have really bad hours, they're only open when everyone is at work and NEVER during the weekends. Doesn't matter though because the machines are constantly breaking down due to people's demon children throwing rocks and dirt in the washers. It's impossible to actually was at home. The jacuzzi hadn't worked in years, it's all dirty and management tried to hide it by putting a giant blue tarp around it. The indoor pool next to it was drained a couple of years ago as well. People like to sneak in and break furniture. They're are broken chairs and a giant dirty beanbag at the bottom of the pool. The main pool is almost never clean, the water stays clean for about 3 days before it's gets disgustingly murky and you can't see the bottom of the pool. And recently someone's child DEFECATED IN THE POOL. If you decide to take a walk watch where you step and wear a mask because there is animal and HUMAN feces all over the floor. Despite management having doggy bags people refuse to clean up after their dogs. And for some reason people like to do their business any and everywhere. Management also hates having the trash be collected during the week. They loveee having the trash cans overflow and have the culdesac full of trash. People also love to leave their furniture on the culdesac right where the car gates are. And the roaches are the size of chihuahuas. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS

Early in my stay I was prescribed a therapy animal. They made the procedure impossible and finally approved it two months later (with stipulations, which is illegal) once I had to get the housing authorities involved. They ask if you have pets in the application. At the time I did not, but they were insistent I was lying. By law, therapy animals are not considered pets. Be warned: if you have an assistance animal they will find a reason not to approve you. Most probable they will tell you an earlier application was approved. I have filed a complaint with the Department of Fair Employment and Housing. They have accepted the complaint and it is now going to legal. They also have a program for the homeless here. 11 units are used by the DHS & DMS. There is even case manager with an office onsite. They keep it very secretive which caused me to be concerned as I have two children. I asked verbally and wrote a letter asking they provide information about the program. How many homeless are housed per unit? - What is the turnover rate? Any restrictions about criminals, specifically sex offenders? - They refuse to answer anything. As a long-time resident of Hansen Village Apartments, 13 years, I have yet to encounter a savage or animal (unless he means the 4-legged kind) living here. What I do have is a plethora of nice, caring neighbors in a peaceful and friendly community. The property is very well-maintained, from the laundry room to the landscaping to the units themselves. Mr. Jon R. states that there are people screaming , hollering and making noise well into the night, every night. I wonder if he's speaking about his neighbors that adjoin his wall and not our complex (separated by a fence, landscaping and a parking lot) because this has not been my experience. I walk my dogs, day and night (as late as midnight or 1am) and aside from the occasional loud tv, crying baby or the sprinklers, you can literally hear a pin drop. Perhaps his complaint is about the residence on Gladstone (behind his complex) that throws a party now and then with live music and an emcee/host? A lot of cheering, yelling and laughing goes on there but we all know it's a party so no one complains. No housing is without its bad apples but the many good ones here far outweigh the bad. I would suggest that if Mr. Jon R. is having issues with our complex, he walk over and present them to the Manager, Mr. Williams, or his staff. Also, writing a review about the apartment complex without actually living here is both wrong and irresponsible and labeling its tenants as loud, filthy animals and savages is reprehensible and vile.
