I lived here for two years and was the only person in my 1 bedroom apartment. I liked living here because the unit was more space than I needed, it had a large balcony to walk out onto, and the property manager Zulma was really great. However, I did have issues with the people who lived there. The people are noisy and make a mess (animal pee/poo, food/trash on the ground). There are roaches and the buildings are unclean. Management doesn't care and will not answer your calls or call you back, you can hardly even get them to respond to an email. All I asked is to get out of my lease early because I have a phobia of roaches and so far I've seen 7 roaches in like 2 months, and they said I would have to give them $7577.75 to get out of the lease early. My husband and I were so excited to tour this place back in July 1, 2023. Prior to this, we tried to contact the place. i called every day at different times throughout the day and was only able to talk to Michelle on Thursday @ 9:02 AM. I told her that we submitted an application and have a tour for that upcoming Saturday. She said that she'll go through the applications as it is first-come, first-served, but that someone would show us available units when we do the tour. Our appointment was for 3:20 on a Saturday, and I decided to call them before we get there. I called at 1 PM, 2 PM, 2:30 PM, 3 PM and pretty much up until we left and we got no answer. This should have honestly been a red flag but we thought they were just busy with tours. We show up, but no one came to meet us. I called their number, knocked on the office door, talked to tenants who told us to try the other buildings because there were three. We were there for about 20 minutes before finally leaving because it was too hot. Michelle called us on the 9th asking if we were still interested in the unit or if she should cancel the application. I was upset at this point because we had wasted about 125$ for the two applications and the pet application. I told her that no one came to tour us on July 1st and she went on to say that the lady who was supposed to be there had an emergency and she was hoping that the lady called everyone who had an appointment that day to reschedule the tour. That didn't happen and no one called to follow up with us. She said she was sorry, but if they really were apologetic, they would have followed up with us much sooner than a week after our scheduled tour. You can try your luck with them and maybe get lucky. We found a much better 2bd/1ba condo, no pet rent, two parking spaces for less than what Astoria Dronfield is charging for a 2bd/1ba 840sqft. Good luck to prospective tenants out there. I hope you find your space, but maybe try elsewhere. read more

My mom and I applied for an apartment at Dronfield Astoria, and after multiple trips to sign and drop off documents, we literally got ghosted. The apartment we applied for needed approval from the city, and (I have to be honest and give her credit) the manager was very polite as well as responsive up until October 1st, which was the last time we got a call from her. Later, we did not receive any further communications and it is very unprofessional that they could not even notify us whether the apartment got approved or not. At this point, more than a month has passed, so it is evident that we did not get the apartment; however, the correct and professional thing to do would be to let us know it got denied. It is so simple to say "no." Instead, we got completely ignored. In addition, I called multiple times to check on the status, but no response. I also sent some emails asking to get all of our documents back because they contained very sensitive information; still, no response. I'm starting to think they like to scam people who apply for these income-eligible apartments and just collect the application fees. I did not want to post this review as it is hostile, yet we did not get any response from management. Therefore, other people need to know this can happen to them as well. Be advised. read more

This place is a joke, I highly do not recommend anyone renting out a unit here. Property manager "M" does not handle anything properly. 1) manager promised/reassured me they have no roach infestation, however first day I moved in, I spotted 4 roaches. Put in multiples work orders for roach gels (which they reassured the only thing they used, however my camera caught them spraying chemicals all over my apartment, which didn't do anything to the roaches) 2) manager promised me we will not get charged for anything relating to the kitchen, since they did not clean or fix anything; wear&tear (refer to the pictures I took before we moved in). Well they charged full cleaning for the kitchen (which they refused to clean & fix before we moved in). 3) took them over 6 months to fixed the light fixture in the kitchen, there are days where we cooked with only a flashlight (not even joking). 4) pigeon poos, really gross. First day moved in, we have to clean a year worth of pigeon poos since Maintence team refuse to clean (see images). Also if you move into this apartment complex, expect a pile of old pigeon poos flying down on your head (not from the pigeons, but from residents scrapping poos off of their patio). 6) Expect to find used condoms and little drug bags in front of door (see images). Emailed Manager, she never response back or send anyone to clean the USED condoms! Happened multiple times. 7) the walls are tissue thins, you will hear everything your upstairs neighbors are doing, from urinating to bed room activities 8) lousy upstairs neighbors (that was our biggest issue). They would blast music 6am every morning and manager "M" never really resolve the problem. She promised to report to upper management and see if we can transfer to a different unit, never fulfilled the requirements (also found through property management, she never reported the issues to them) Overall, this place will steal your deposit money for all these random full cleaning and fixture charges that they don't even do. Imagine them charging the old residents before new residents for cleaning fees but did not even fulfill those requests for the next residents. This place is exhausting and I never regretted anything until now. Save your money and go somewhere else. If you're really into roaches, pigeon poos, horrible management team, used condoms etc. then this place is for you. read more

I applied for a 2 bedroom apt here and they asked for 1 year of bank statements which I provided that far exceeded the requirements to live there and they denied my application because they couldn't confirm my income. Sounds like they were just too lazy to look at my statements. read more

Its a beautiful apartment building with wonderful neighbors and a great manager (Melissa) who is always available to answer any questions you have. If you have any maintenance issues they are very quick to respond and take care of it. The building is always clean and well taken care of. My family and I enjoy living here, the location is fantastic and we are so thankful for our new apartment. I would recommend this apartment to everyone. read more

Pros - beautiful apartments, great amenities, built-in microwave, range, dishwasher, and central AC. Cons - washing machines constantly breaking down, noisy disrespectful neighbors that blast their sound system through the middle of the night even worse on weekends, low response level from management for other concerns that are outside the realm of maintenance. Zulma does a great job at fixing maintenance issues in the apartments and responds quickly, however, struggles with keeping the peace and enforcing lease agreements among tenants. Cleanliness of the premises is okay but definitely could be better in the lobby, elevator, and stairways. read more

She was extremely dishonest & said she didn't get paid to look through the footage and see who broke into our car . It's almost as if it was an inside job ! Ive been living at Dronfield Apartments for 1 year now. This has been by far the best place I've lived. Its very quiet and peaceful and comes with great amenities. The apartment we moved into was infested with roaches. The first day we moved in, there were dead and live roaches everywhere. We had to stay in a hotel because the apartment wasn't ready. Came back the next day and they assured us the roaches wouldn't be a problem. They came back more and more each day. In the kitchen and bathrooms. We had to move out immediately because it was not comfortable to stay there. A terrifying experience and would not recommend. read more

Beware! Don't try to apply for these apartments. The manager will mislead you into thinking you'll be approved, however she won't tell you what's required beforehand. I asked her and she gave some vague answers. I probably should of known better! So unless you make $6000-$8000 a month, don't bother applying. I have been a resident here since January 2018. The best part of this place is Zulma, the apartment manager. She was quick to get us in and worked around mine and my boyfriends work schedules. She is always there to help if i ever have any questions/needs. She even called me a week after we moved in to check on how everything was going! So far so good! The apartments are nice inside. We had brand new carpeting and the walls looked freshly painted. The only reason i don't give a 5 Star is because the tenants don't seem to really care for being clean outside.There is trash in the elevators and stairwells. There is also dog poop on the ground sometimes. Never really much going on, it's overall a great place to live especially with Zulma being the property manager! read more
