There is a swimming pool, laundry, and bbq grill on site. Street parking can be packed but tenants get a parking spot so it wasn't an issue for me. I also had a storage unit in the garage, which came into great use. Ralph's grocery store and many restaurants are super close to the building. The landscape is well taken care of and everything is kept very clean. You can expect a pleasant stay here with an awesome manager like Jennifer!

The move in processes is super smooth too, because she gives you a folder with everything you need..from bath tub cleaning instructions to some food places she recommends! I no longer live here anymore, but one day one of my package got sent there by accident. She helped me collect it and kept it save in her office until I came to pick it up! She's legit the sweetest. The only downside living here is if you have two cars in your family, there's only one parking space available, so you'll have to find street parking for the other car/cars (which can be a real pain since there are so many apartments tenants fighting for the same street parking) All in all, nice apartment complex with a nice on site manager.

No--but my apartment is clean and I feel safe here. The staff has great customer service and made the move-in process fairly easy. It's a very large complex, so if you don't like occasionally hearing things like the ice cream truck or smelling someone's BBQ, it might not be the place for you. For parking, you get a two-car garage with a two-bedroom unit, but any additional parking is on the street. Personally, I like the layout because it gives me a sense of privacy. Also it's not a complex that nitpicks little things, they leave you alone, I appreciate that. Maintenance has been very responsive whenever I've had an issue--they show up quickly and are always polite and accommodating. Overall, it's pretty much what I expected. I also haven't seen any roaches or rodents. I've noticed a couple of crickets here and there, but that's manageable.

If you end up in a unit along Jake's Way closer to the train tracks, at one point during our tenancy someone shot into the apartments from the street. So pray they put you on the other side. The dumpsters are always overflowing and pretty gross, so many roaches in the garages and parking lots, and one of the sprinklers was pointed at our patio and sprayed our window every night so we couldn't store anything on the patio. From a couple months into our move in to the time we left, the unit living above our garage had plumbing issues causing leaks on the ceiling and walls of the garage and onto our cars. Every time we brought it to the attention of the leasing office, they'd tell us they can't do anything cause the unit would deny them entry and they'd patch it for it to continue leaking a week later. Having sewage on our cars isn't exactly enticing when you have a newborn. But that's not all folks! The ladies at the leasing office don't have a great record log or communication system. When we moved out, we were sent information for prorated rent since we left mid way through the month. The amount was paid and we got a phone call from another gal, Tara(?) who was telling us we owed them money for the remainder of our rent. I had to explain that we were moving and were quoted for a prorated amount and she said nobody added that to our file so she'd put it in our notes. The icing on the cake is we never received our deposit. When I emailed Yesenia and Alexandra, nobody replied (shocker! Kind of like when I'd email about our garage biohazard ) so I gave a call and spoke to Yesenia. She let me know our check was mailed out on June 3, and asked if we provided a forwarding address. I let her know we did since I was looking at the email to Alexandra with it noted - which Alexandra responded to with Yesenia copied, saying thanks for providing it. After being put on hold, Yesenia let me know that they didn't have a forwarding address so they had mailed our deposit check to the unit that we moved out of. Ya, let me word that again, but slower: they mailed our deposit check to the unit we moved out of, 2 weeks after we left. She let me know she'd have to contact the current resident that moved into our unit to see if they received our check and then contact upper management to see if they could reissue a check to us. I insisted that we pick it up from the leasing office ourselves cause I actually have no words. Anyway the pros: location is close to the freeway, there's lot of family friendly/community things in Santa Clarita, and the neighbors are pretty friendly (except for a few that get drunk and rowdy and have friends come over that block everyone else's garage access)

I've done property management all over and assisted with new ownership transfers and handling residents. What truly makes Château Devonshire exceptional, though, is the building manager, Kathrine. She is simply outstanding--always kind, attentive, and funny as hell. Whether it's a quick call for maintenance request or just a friendly chat in the courtyard, Kathrine goes above and beyond for us. We have random resident events like Porto's by the pool - how can you go wrong with that lol. Enough of my banter I highly recommend Château Devonshire and Katherine makes living here easy. JB-

I was interested in renting an apartment at this community and right off the bat I was impressed by the prompt attention given to me by Stephanie and Marie. You're better off living…read moresomewhere else I experienced ROACHES in apartment 9107 within 24 hours of the lease, I thought it was a one time thing but as time progressed the situation got worse. I would spend hours and multiple days a week thoroughly cleaning only to be unable to escape the roaches. I would reach out to management and they would get services for pest control but it never worked, the roaches kept on coming. When I asked to be switched to a different apartment, they said I wouldn't be able to due to my lease agreement and they even admitted that it was just my building (not just my floor, not just my apartment) that had the issue. Ok....... well do BETTER and fix it?! My fridge was always going off, so I would have to throw food away every other week. I would call maintenance but they said to just watch the temperature... how about you fix it or replace it instead? Management said they would change my fridge, give me a voucher, and reduce the rent because of it but they never did even after I kept reminding them. My closet door didn't even reach the door stopper... They withheld my security deposit because they needed to clean the carpets, paint the walls, and clean the apartment.
