As a big fan of Chipotle's Burrito Bowl, for dinner, I was looking for some alternatives to there in Astoria, and I found Astoria Taco Factory which offers Barbacoa Burrito Bowl (10 hours slow cooked barbacoa ,yellow rice, black beans, mixed cheese, lettuce & pico de gallo) with good reviews. Compared to Chipotle, size wise, the portion is pretty much the same, but the best part is the Barbacoa! It was super tender and juicy. The cheese was melted in with the mix of lettuce and black beans. I'm not sure if I was starving, or it was really good. I devoured the whole bowl in no time. I also appreciate that it was beautifully toasted on all sides. The inside of the burrito had a great balance of ingredients and generous meat. Everything tasted fresh, as if it were made to order. I had the fried fish taco and camarones (shrimp taco) and both were good! The shrimp taco was very light, but the fried fish was pretty big and super filling. I definitely recommend getting the fried fish taco over shrimp. I also got the churros and they were bomb too! I got the food via Doordash and I picked it up from the restaurant, but be ware of increased price online - price of tacos were 25 cents higher, which is forgivable, but the churros was listed at $9.50 while it was $7.50 on the in-store menu. **Delivery Review** Put an order through Uber Eats from here on a Friday night. Food arrives within 45 minutes despite the hour-delivery window, packed well inside the bag to keep most of the heat. Had ordered a monster selection of items: including the Nachos w/Guacamole ($12.50), grilled Fish Taco ($4.75), and Carne Asada Torta ($11). started off with the nachos - a large layering of chips, tomatoes, beans, cheese, sour cream, and the added guacamole. After the first bite, realized the chips were extremely stale. This was unfortunate because the rest of the ingredients were great. Onto the taco - grilled fish, salsa, veggies double wrapped by soft tortillas. Once again, the tortillas are stale, taking away from the fantastic fish inside. At this point I was worried about my torta, thankfully the bread was NOT stale, and is stuffed with a large portion of meat, mozzarella cheese, guacamole, and veggies. Definitely the best of the bunch, and like how they use the mozzarella instead of oaxaca cheese. I would actually recommend ordering 3 tacos at most because these were really big. So first of all, they unfortunately messed up our order. My first taco I had was the al pastor. It was decently flavorful, but it was definitely overdone because it was dry and hard. The chorizo was flavorful, but in my opinion waaaaay too salty. It was also weird to me that there was lettuce in it.... and also potato, but the potato at least balanced out the saltiness. All in all, I don't think I would come here again.
