    Chicken tacos
    Maram A.

I ordered tacos on tacos Tuesday and they were terrible. I got the chicken tacos, a fish taco, a meat taco and a minced meat taco. Food was made in a hurry abd put together recklessly. The chicken was overcooked. The meat was stuffed in a big careless chubk on the taco abd came cold abd lukewarm. It was definitely fridgirated overnight abd they heated cit up quickly abd stuffed it in the taco. The minced meat taco was okay, kind of wet not sure if that was from cheese or sauce. The fish taco was oily. The food was prepared recklessly. Would not order again.

Great late nite spot to grab some good food and a drink! The service was great and we literally walked in and sat at the counter so we could catch the baseball game. We ordered the Al Pastor Torta which had Marinated spicy pork with pineapple w/ black bean spread, mozzarella cheese, chipotle mayo, lettuce, onions & tomatoes. It was super flavorful, fresh and i loved how it was overly filling but just enough to be satisfied with my meal. We will definitely be coming back to try a few other things and will probably now be our go to spot for quick bite to eat ! Also the place is small inside with a few tables and bar seats, but they have outside seating too , either way its cozy and had a great vibe.

Oh man! This one is a shocker and i love it. Brace yourself for this one because is a good one. I do wanna start by saying that I am super picky when it comes to picking restaurants but, i do know that i perfer to eat from a restaurant than to eat fast food. So, as a friend of mines and I are headed to Astoria Park we decided to stop and grab some food. The food option near us weren't the easiest around that neighborhood. And being unsure of what to eat didn't help. We were just hoping our choice didn't end up being that toxic waste of fast food. ( even tho is so delicious on cheat days :x ) After driving for some time we stumbled upon this Mexican Cuisine. The Colors outside was definitely a catch. And dont tell me that's how they usually look because i know, ok, but it was catchy at that moment. Oh, and we went around 8-9pm around there. When we both agreed i knew this food was going to hit. I dont know i just felt it. The place was small but durable even though we didn't stay there to eat. They had inside seating & they also had outside seating, which is a plus for a beautiful day/night out. Now, when we were about to order one girl was at the counter. As were looking at the menu, i guess she left because right when we were about to order another lady came. At first i was like okay - i didn't mind, here's where i was like damn I should've got the other girl. Keep in mind that as annoyed as i was getting i was just hoping it was a long day for her. She was older than the other girl. I wanted TWO SOFT SHRIMP TACOS WITH JUST SHRIMPS, LETTUCE, CHEESE AND SOUR CREAM, Remember TWO. My friend wanted TWO CHICKEN WITH CHEESE AND ONE SHRIMP WITH CHEESE. ( THEY WERE ALL SOFT TACOS ) ( SIMPLE) ( I honestly was so annoyed ) ( patience is all i kept saying) She wrote it all down and still was confused. Repeated the orders multiple times That i even had to tell her " mami is simple tacos " She just kept apologizing but is like what in the frank dont you understand. Luckily, the food made up for it, shout out to the chefs for hooking it up. The shrimps were flavorful, they put it in the right Soft Taco we wanted which usually they get wrong. I know that if I'm ever around the area again I'll be going back. Just don't do the mistake i did. I bought a soda that u had to open with a bottle opener and because I didn't want it to spill I did not open it inside the restaurant. When i wanted to take a sip after my food, we didn't realize why she had asked us if we wanted to open them before we left, we definitely understood why then.

    Barbacoa Burrito ((NEW))

As a big fan of Chipotle's Burrito Bowl, for dinner, I was looking for some alternatives to there in Astoria, and I found Astoria Taco Factory which offers Barbacoa Burrito Bowl (10 hours slow cooked barbacoa ,yellow rice, black beans, mixed cheese, lettuce & pico de gallo) with good reviews. Compared to Chipotle, size wise, the portion is pretty much the same, but the best part is the Barbacoa! It was super tender and juicy. The cheese was melted in with the mix of lettuce and black beans. I'm not sure if I was starving, or it was really good. I devoured the whole bowl in no time. I wish they gave more yellow rice and green sauce though. I'd totally recommend the Burrito Bowl with Barbacoa!

Food is still good like a remembered and now they have BAR. Yassss these tacos deserve to be eaten with a well made margarita.

Chips & Guacamole & mango margaritas

I wish I had snapped a photo of my tacos; I tried both the chicken and beef, and they were delicious. I started with chips and guacamole, which were equally tasty. I visited on a Tuesday during happy hour, when drinks start at $5 depending on your choice. Be sure to ask for the Taco Tuesday menu; it wasn't offered to us, and we only found out about it after overhearing another customer request it. They have special deals on Tuesdays. The mango margarita was a solid 10/10. The restaurant itself is a bit small, so I took a seat at the bar. Parking was tough to find, and there are a lot of bus lanes in the area, so just a heads up. I'll definitely be coming back!

They have the best burritos I have had. The best part is they are a small business you can see them actually making the food. You can taste the freshness in each bite. They are very friendly, the prices are very reasonable, and the have seating should you desire to eat there.

My wife and I live in LIC so we took our pup on the ferry to Astoria for a fantastic lunch on their patio. The service was great!! I had the carnitas burrito and my wife had the steak quesadillas with chips and guacamole. Most definitely the best Mexican food around. This feels like a weekly routine for us!

Small location with outdoor seating. Tables and chairs are a little smaller outside. The food is good with flavor. No issues.

I took advantage of an Uber eats 2-for-1 special and ordered their chicken burrito. Out of the gate, I was super impressed by the size of the burrito itself. It was huge! I also appreciate that it was beautifully toasted on all sides. The inside of the burrito had a great balance of ingredients and generous meat. Everything tasted fresh, as if it were made to order. The only thing I would adjust is the amount of seasoning used. I wish it had more. It's not the best Mexican food in the area but it's incredibly fresh with awesome portion sizes. I will be ordering from them again!

I actually wanted their combo ($12) taco platter (3 tacos, Rice, Refried beans), but the choices for the tacos were chicken, pork, beef. The other combo that looked interesting was a beef taco, chicken fajita, and something called a sincronizada (ham & cheese pressed between 2 taco shells), & rice & beans. But their iPad system didn't have that (even though the paper menus did). I probably could've just ordered it with the cashier. I got ($13 Total) two tacos, beef tongue & al pastor ($4.50 each) & a side of rice ($3). The portions were very generous, and the first few bites things tasted good but a few more and I noticed that everything lacked flavor. The beef tongue was the best item, there was a salty sear on one side, but the pieces weren't as tender as other restaurants'. Maybe it was frozen and he didn't have time to defrost it? The al Pastor was chopped up meat bits with NO flavor. The pineapple and onions were nicely, finely chopped, but I didn't even finish half of these tacos. The rice had peas, corn, carrots, and string beans & big fluffy grains. At first it was tasty, with maybe hints of bullion and tomatoes; but after a few bites, it started reminding me of cafeteria rice & had a bit too much oil. It seems like a popular place, a mom and her kid came in for tacos after school, local workers and contractors who seem to know the staff and delivery guys, came in for their lunch. Maybe I didn't order the right items, or these type of tacos are more popular on the weekend. I also wonder that since I'm not a local or of the background, there isn't as much care put into my food. One contractor yelled "China! [cheena!]" to the staff as he walked in. Was I supposed to respond "Mexicanos!" LOLZ. I hope they do well though they seem like a neighborhood staple.

It's easy to miss & for me the name ("cafe") doesn't seem like large platters homestyle food, tacos, tamales, giant bowls of soup, many types of champurrado / atole de maiz. But EVERYTHING I've had so far here has been delicious & I want to go here with someone familiar with the cuisine because I'm sure that I'm missing out. The staff is very friendly. I think there's a few sons/cousins that are sometimes there & bring some of that young energy too. The wall menus are a bit hard to figure out & I think there's more options than they list. I saw a lot of people eating mole with rice & beans, and enchilada-type of hot plates, sizzling pieces of beef too, large bowls of soup. The steam tables are probably the best options for specials of the day - stewed chicken, different kinds of beans, etc. I should point & order next time. Have had: Suadero Tacos - melt-in-your-mouth tender beef (longer wait than other meats) Al Pastor Taco Pozole (soup): Red (slightly spicy) & White Versions. Comes with diced radish, lettuce, lime wedge, & tostada (I asked for 2). Red was better. White had a lot of pork belly fat-only chunks on the day that I went. (MUST like Mexican oregano with this soup recipe!) Champurrado: a hot corn flour drink with panela, cinnamon; other stuff. Could be a breakfast replacement. Horchata: just okay, realized that I like the Salvadorian version better. Might have had chicken tacos for a late first meal of the day & think was really delicious; but now a low-sugar memory Want to try: -Strawberry Atole (another hot corn flour drink recommended by the girl at a taqueria closer to me - where they don't make it) Overheard someone mentioning a Goat dish (maybe weekend only). Oh & def should try the Cafe de Olla (coffee with panela/cinnamon/spices) ... but bring my conchas from M-sa Madre Bakery. There's about 15 tables inside, family-friendly, solo workers eating lunch; Weekend couples, Grandpa bringing grandson for some soup. Cases filled with pan dulce up front also. The action figure collection on the front right wall is a super nice touch! To Yelp Reviewer who wrote that this place doesn't include avocado or guacamole with tacos: I don't think tacos normally come with avocado OR guacamole (depending on region & some places here probably add to appease Americans). $19 for FRESH 3-4 items (TONGUE!) is excellent.

The drinks were really good! We tried the "Sexy Oaxaca," which consists of 7 Misterios Doba-Yej Mezcal, Cointreau, grilled pineapple, mint agave, fresh lemon, and warm salt. This drink takes your taste buds on a ride. It starts off light and refreshing with the mezcal throughout, then finishes with a smoky effect from the pineapple since it's lit. It was really good!! I also tried the "VIP Old Fashion," made with Patrón Extra Añejo, Nixta corn liqueur, Angostura, and orange bitters. This was also good and was smoked prior to being served, giving it a smoky aftertaste. It's definitely a drink you sip slowly. They were big on togo orders, but the handful of tables was just enough for a group lunch or intimate dinner. The vibe is a complete departure from their other locations, and one that this part of the neighborhood could have benefited from. While the location and storefront made them different from their stands, so too was the food. It wasn't bad but also was very on par with the sub-NY standard of Mexican fare. The breakfast plates felt average, enchiladas were very bland, and the tacos were not at all similar to their other spots.
