Dr Kolia has been my optician for 20 yrs. I've left the valley and when I moved back I made sure that I followed up with her. I enjoy that Dr. Kolia does a great job in developing rapport with her patients, she has a great memory and likes to see how I'm doing. I love her selection of frames, always very trendy and fashionable. Dr Kolia does an excellent job in finding the frames that's the perfect fit for you. B/c of my dry eyes I tend to favor glasses over contact lenses and I love how they look on me and more the compliments that I receive. I also have astigmatism and I've been pleased with the glasses and daily wear contact lens prescription that she has prescribed. Her staff members are super polite and responsive. I have sent numerous requests via their website and have not received any phone calls or emails to make an appointment. Also my niece tried making an appointment with them and also got no response. I guess they are too busy and make enough money to call back their clients (yes, I have been going here for 2 years, and have had 2 sets of glasses already) now they don't want to call back or make appointments. read more

I was happy to call and get an appt the same day. I should have known the customer service was bad when the receptionist hung up without saying "bye" "thanks" nothing! So I showed up at 10:45 for my 11 appt. filled out paperwork while the doctor was speaking to the receptionist. At exactly 11 a pest control guy came in and she left with him saying "I'll be back, just running home real quick"! Why would you leave to go home at the exact time my appointment is scheduled. No apology... clearly her time is more valuable than mine. The receptionist said she "only lives ONE minute away". So we waited 15 minutes and left. They had also already authorized my insurance making it difficult to schedule an appointment with another office who has a optometrist that is actually present for their scheduled appointments. read more

Dr. Fiona Kolia has been my optometrist for several years. I've been impressed with the thorough vision care I've received, starting with single vision reading lenses and progressing to stronger correction as my eyes have aged. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE They messed up my contact lens order which delayed my contact lenses for weeks. I would have been fine with that since I still had a pair left to hold me over until then. However, the attitude that the staff gave me really pissed me off, for lack of a better phrase. They were very nonchalant and unapologetic about the errors they committed. They way that they spoke to me was very disrespectful, like it was my fault that they got the orders wrong. To top it off, the "doctor" (who performed such an amateurish exam on me) was very dismissive to me when she overheard my disgust on how her staff treated me. When I calmly explain what her staff said to me, she just blew me off and went back to her back office. At that point, I just left the office shaking my head at such a horrible place of business. read more

I take my entire family to see Dr. Kolia (and even extended family). She has the latest equipment and is up to date with the latest developments in eye health. I do agree that the turnover in her staff is constant but she seems to have a knowledgeable staff at the moment. Don't hesitate taking your family there, you will be pleased in the long run. Can't believe what I witnessed. As I was browsing for frames I overheard the doctor belittling her staff and treating them with utter disrespect. At one point I heard her say, "Why would you ask a question like that, can't you read what is there?" Followed by, "Where is Carissa?" while rolling her eyes and huffing. As a business owner myself I would never discourage my staff from learning OR asking questions. She then continued to speak to her staff in a condescending tone, telling one of the girls to SIT DOWN and JUST DO WHAT SHE WAS TOLD. The doctor should stop acting superior to her staff, but instead be thankful. After hearing the doctors meltdown I left, because I will not support anyone who treats others this way. read more

Not a good variety of glasses frames for kids. Though it was fast service the customer service is very rude. One young man in particular was being very rude. He was treating my family very rude and it was really bad service. I do recommend for the exam but not for service. read more

Had a great time here. Little to no waiting time and the Doctor got to see my almost immediately. Wonderful atmosphere and everyone was very kind and considerate. Dr. Kolia was terrific and gave me much needed advice on what glasses to order and what exercises to do when my eyes get tired during the day. I would highly recommend! read more

Although Astoria may have nice frames the quality of treatment given by Dr. Fiona Kiola is herendous. I never heard any words come out of the doctors mouth that were not dripping with distain or condescention. If I am going to pay so much for service I expect to be treated with respect. read more

Wow! I am completely surprised by the negative reviews. I take my whole family here and have never had any negative experiences over the years. On the contrary, they have always been very helpful and professional. We have four children and the youngest has a lazy eye and the doctor is amazing with her. My youngest even fell in love with a display glasses case at one point and they offered to give it to her. The doctor remembers all of us and asks how all our children are when we drop by. I can't say enough good things about them! read more
