I recently posted this on my Facebook and will put it here too because while no company is perfect I believe those who strive to be good should be rewarded for it. I have had many cable companies in my life and by far Grande Communications is the one that has stepped up and done everything it can to TRY to be the perfect cable company when Donny others aren't even attempting to be decent. My recent post: "If y'all have followed my feed for any amount of time you know I absolutely HATE cable companies. They have always been the bane of my adult existence. That is until I found my current cable company. I want to throw this recommendation out to you guys because this company has saved my sanity. IF YOU GET THE OPPORTUNITY PLEASE TRY GRANDE COMMUNICATIONS OUT! I have had them since we first moved to Odessa and not once have I had to wait on hold for more than a couple minutes. Not once have I talked to someone who wasn't one of the most friendly representatives I have come across. Not once have I had to wait more than 24 hrs for a technician to come to my home. Their service is reliable and very rarely glitches. The internet speed allows us to stream movies and game at the same time without slowing either down. But the most important things are these: #1 They are customer service geniuses! They care about giving their customers a good experience and the strive to provide the best one they can. Even in my franchised area they don't let the fact that we have no other option stop them being the best they can be to us. #2 Their prices are reasonable and affordable and they have a plan that will fit just about any budget and will help you to determine the best plan for you. #3 They have the most reliable service I have come across yet. GRANDE COMMUNICATIONS is a TEXAS based company that serves most all of the state. And I will tell you that from here on out if they are in my list of options they will always be at the TOP of the list!" read more

Numerous dropped internet instances this past month. These would last anywhere from an hour to six. Grande will come out to service our home without warning and will disconnect internet while doing so. If you call their customer support number and follow the menu option to cancel service, you'll instead be "transferred" at which point they end the call. read more

Grande's litterbugs strike again... this time, leaving coaxial cable and splitters on my property, on the ground NEXT TO THE TRASH CANS. Last time, it was a spool of fiber optic cable in the street (see photo). Once again, I had packet loss (in chunks - not sporadically). Once again, I called and asked about possible maintenance, upgrades, or installations in my area that might be the cause, and I was told there was nothing on their end. This time, when I came home from running errands hours later (since I couldn't work from home without reliable internet), a Grande truck pulled up outside of my home just after I arrived home. I wasn't expecting them. I asked the men in the truck if they were there about the calls I'd made earlier that day. They said yes. I told them I had not been notified about technicians being sent to my address. They said they were there to check everything. I went into the house. At one point, I peeked outside and saw one of them almost knocking the other one over while spinning around in my driveway with a ladder held horizontally. "Please don't let them hit my car," I thought to myself. Later on these clowns knocked at the door and asked to check my modem. Um, no. I had no previous notifications or phone calls to expect these jokers, their professionalism was nonexistent, and I wasn't letting them into my home. Previous technicians? Totally professional and seemingly trustworthy. What the hell, Grande? If you hire clowns, fine. At the very least - CALL ME BEFORE YOU COME TO MY HOUSE. It's 2019. Quite possibly the worst internet service in the history of our planet. They have to work hard to make the service this bad. I am actually convinced that the central infrastructure of their internet service is actually powered by a single 5inch by 3inch hamster wheel on which a small, emaciated, and tired hamster is fervently running to support the weight of this horrible company on its poor and unfortunate shoulders. I think their plan is to make the internet so bad that we can't go onto the internet to spread the truth about just how abysmally horrible their internet actually is. I cannot wait for google fiber. I would have switched from Grande years ago but I am locked in because of my apartment complex. My roommates and I rely on internet to do our jobs and do schoolwork, but so many times we have let down our coworkers or been unable to do our work because of how horrible the internet is. I call customer service and they are always nice, but never have any solutions. My life has been a never-ending cycle of "have you tried resetting?" and "oh resetting didn't work, we will send a technician to come help you in 4 days from now". AVOID Grande like the plague, but at least the plague would end the endless misery of suffering through using Grande while we wait for google fiber. read more

Have had Grande internet for a little over a month in 78723. We're officially on our 4th outage during this period of time, including one that lasted over 24 hours and 2 others that lasted for at least half the day. My husband works from home, so this has amounted to a ton of lost hours for him. Ultimately, I would say if you are looking for reliable internet that works, look in nearly any other direction. Grande's reliability is bad on a level I haven't experienced with any other provider. read more

Too late too many times I've given Grande a chance to be better, it never happened!! In fact it got worse , the last night of my service my grandchild had to be disappointed when they came over and we were going to watch a movie but it wouldn't let me. I spoke to a young lady who had to hang up because our connection was bad she said she was goi g to call me back-she didn't! Needless to say the kids didn't get to watch the movie they chose, thanks again Grande! read more

THEY LIE AND STEAL FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS I think this company's business model is stealing from its customers. We returned their equipment when we moved away from Austin in the end of April. We realized they charged us for the equipment although we returned it. When we called back, they accepted that they made a mistake and they said our money would be back in 2 weeks. We said ok, as mistakes happen. 2 weeks later, we didn't have our money back and called again. They gentleman said this time it would be paid within 3 business days. It is mid July and we still have no money and every time we call, they straight out lie to us. Today the woman who answered said there is no case about this on our account!!! She said she can't give us her name and they will pay it within 6 months. What kind of company lies to its customers and steals from them??? Stay away from this company. read more

AWFUL, AWFUL, AWFUL. Without fail, and NEVER to my benefit, I have to call and question a billing increase. I'm now on 48 minutes of hold time for their "24/7" customer service. This company is absolutely AWFUL. What makes it worse...the BS recording they make you listen to about how much they value your business...ALL EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY. It's completely disingenuous and gaming. At some point they hope you'll just "pay the damn" bill because you give up trying to get any customer service to address your issue. Again, how interesting (insert eye roll) that the "mistake" is never a DECREASE in my bill. WOW, crazy. Seriously, at this point we will likely switch AGAIN but if you have the chance to avoid them, do NOT sign up with GRANDE and save yourself the trouble of switching. I've heard Spectrum is pretty good in Austin and will be trying them next....as minute :50 rolls around. UPDATE: at minute :50, my call was finally answered by "Sierra" (Cierra, Ciara), who was in the middle of assuring me she would help me look at and resolve my bill concern when she was "accidentally disconnected" mid-sentence. YOU CAN NOT MAKE THIS STUFF UP. And, wow, so surprising...no call back? Interesting. She has my number. Knows I've been holding for almost and hour, and no call back. So now, I'm BACK ON HOLD...awesome. I can not WAIT to speak with a manager...hopefully we also don't get "accidentally" disconnected. AWFUL. Just AWFUL. I'm filing a complaint with the PUC and OPUC. This is the worst internet service I have had in 17 years...since I had dial-up with EarthLink. I got their 600 mbs service and it is horrendous. Speed test shows download speed of 600 mbs+ but latency makes everything run super slow. Gaming will NOT work...servers have to be responsive to be competitive. Even simple browsing of web sites is excruciatingly slow. And don't even try to get online during peak online traffic hours. So much for Astound fiber optic. I have decided to go back to my previous provider which I had issues with but never close to the sub par service I get from Astound. They have offered a super deal with upgraded lines, router, and modem, and still less than what I pay for Astound now. read more

Wow, I left suddenlink due to bad service. I thought any other provider had to be better. Who would of thought I had it so good at Suddenlink. If you only need internet for 30 to 45 minutes at a time, And only when your lucky, get grande! The screens been frozen going on an hour. This is the worst internet provider you could have. The customer service reps on the toll free line are the rudest humans I have ever had the displeasure of talking to. They will randomly hike your payments with random "one time fees" and also speak to you like you are complete trash. They will sell you "HBO" free for one year and then never give you access to it and then gaslight you on the phone about it like it's your fault. Their representatives dont make a note in the system every time you call them so if I were you I'd tell them to make a note because they will use it against you. I was forced by my apartment complex to use their services and the value of their services is NOT what you are paying for. They only exist to take advantage of you. It's not worth the "high speed internet" because even when you pay for it they don't deliver on it. They are the worst ever. I requested service multiple times and they gaslit me about it. Dont use them if you dont have to. The weekend people are the worst and when they "get a supervisor" the supervisor starts out immediately with attitude and a general nasty disposition. I just got off the phone with them and hands down worst customer service I've ever dealt with. read more

Update: The awfulness continues. Signed up for a promotion for $15.97/month for 50 Mpbs internet plus internet equipment $11, plus fees and taxes come out to be $35. Then got a bill for $79! I somehow was signed up for a Home Networking Service, Internet 50 Mbps, SecureIT Antivirus!?! It was for $34.99. I never signed up for this! I NEVER SIGNED UP FOR THIS! Why would I want pay more when my previous bill was $39. I was trying to lower my bill. The customer service woman said "I can't go back and change that!" repeatedly. How to do you not go back and change it when I never sign up for it! When I asked for clarification of what the "Home Networking Service" means, she couldn't answer the technical question of "networking service" and said "it's something we change everybody." I explained to her that I have no WIFI router from enTouch or Grande or have any devices in my home networking for the "Home Networking Service," what I hear was the same thing "this is what we charge everybody." What a scam! I really hope this is not how enTouch or Grande is doing business and scamming people who are not familiar with the services. Can you imagine all the people who are not tech savvy and need internet services? I will see if I can file a complaint with the FCC, better business bureau or some body. There should be a class action lawsuit for these kind of practices. Grande, you're awful. Awful company. Was happy with internet recently until a "new" company took over. Price was raised and now charges for the equipment that has been using for the last 11 years! when the last company gave me credit for it. Should have switch the internet over to another company. Decided to stay for another year. What a mistake! Don't get the speed as advertised. I am getting 1-12 Mb when I am supposed to get 50 Mb. People working at enTouch or Grande can use more training on how to talk to genuine unhappy customers who have been with them for years. No incentives for longtime customer with them. Customer support: The customer representatives at Grande are very unprofessional and not responsive. Speed: The speed is below par than most of the other vendors in the market. They promise you 300 MPS but it will be very rlow. Pricing: Prices are almost same (or high) compared to most of the vendors. But the value is very low for the price you pay. Billing: They cheat you here in billing. If you enroll in auto-pay, they will automatically increase your bill. If you do not call them up, they will keep charging you high. Many people in our community had this experience. They claim they mention the increase somewhere in the last page of bill in a very small statement. read more

I just sent the following email to Grande and do not expect a reply: Hello. I have been a Grande customer for 14 years and I just want you to know that your customer service, billing, and tech support functions have degraded so severely in the last month that I am in the process of finding a new provider. I have been (1) billed for services I cancelled, (2) had those services reinstated without my request or permission and billed AGAIN, (3) had my internet speed cut in half with no notice whatsoever, and (4) literally spent HOURS trying to resolve all of this, including an in-person trip to my local billing office and literally nothing has been resolved. I was forced to pay charges for services I did not receive in order to keep my account in good standing and I have no hope of ever talking to anyone who will help me at this point. I just called about my suddenly slow internet service and after fighting my way through one of the worst phone menus I've ever encountered, was told I'd have to wait on hold for 20 mins. No. No way am I sinking another 20 mins and who knows how much longer into this. Arbitrarily cutting my internet speed in half is hurting my business and I can't allow it. BTW I tried your online "live support" chat once again but that's never available either. I've never seen any company take such a dramatic nosedive in 30 days before but I guess it's just time for you to lose a 14 year customer who's referred countless others to you. I'd love to receive a reply and get some help but I don't expect anything from your company now. Update: Forgot to mention that last week they sent me a "billing update" letter that began by addressing some other person (not me). Of course the purpose was to tell me my bill will be going UP. AGAIN. Update #2: Today (2/2/18) I received my monthly bill from Grande and it has gone UP again this time by over FORTY DOLLARS A MONTH. No increase in service and NOT ONE issue I detailed about has been addressed. What a clown show this company has become. Update #3: I've dumped Grande for Spectrum as of 2/12/18. I wish I'd done so much sooner. Spectrum experience is great so far but of course I'm a new customer so they're still wooing me. Grande managed to stick it to me one more time on my way out. I wanted to keep my old landline number but was told by Spectrum that Grande would not release it because there was a pending work order. No. Wrong. Idiots! So in order to make the switch I had to give up a phone number I'd had for 20 years but it was the only way out and it was well worth it. Grande is hot garbage at this point. When I cancelled I told them AGAIN that I'd been charged for two months of a cable package I'd already discontinued. The rep said "so sorry someone will look into it" but of course when I got my final bill there was no credit for it. Ripped off, lesson learned, never again with that company! And I'll be just as enthusiastic in sharing my horrible experience with them with others as I used to be in recommending them. read more

Grande has consistently provided poor service to its customers. They are incredibly hard to get in touch with and harass their customers about paying. They provide false charges for no reason and then demand extra payment after all of that! There is NOTHING I would want more than Grande to be stripped of their assets by the FCC. Terrible customer service, hidden charges, mediocre performance - I've had AT&T Uverse, Spectrum and Grande, and Grande is a distant third. Grande prices looked competitive online, but when we got our first bill, we found out about the hidden cost adders for sport and movie packages, which are part of the standard packages with Uverse and Spectrum. We subscribed to Grande for 6 months; for that whole time the online billing system was being "upgraded" so it was unavailable. You have to call for billing questions, and wait on hold, sometimes for 1/2 hour - 45 minutes (there's no call-back system). We switched to Uverse and are paying $20 less per month for faster internet and the same channel selection. read more

Read the reviews. Not worth one star. I run an Airbnb business, so internet access is critical. It is spotty and slow during the best months, doesn't work at all during most. Not to mention, as most of the reviews do, the bill spikes every month. It has become too much of a hassle refunding guests and apologizing profusely for WiFi not being available as advertised. My reviews are suffering because of Grande's terrible service. To make matters worse, the modem has randomly stopped working after about 1 year of service. I called and scheduled for a tech to come troubleshoot because it could not be fixed remotely. I confirmed the appointment the same night. A bot called the day of the appointment (do I really need to doubly confirm a scheduled appointment?) while I was driving, so I listened to the automated message that "a tech is on the way" and hung up. I arrive at the house, and two hours later, no tech. I call Grande and wait on hold for ~30 mins (crazy!) until finally reaching someone who says the tech marked my appointment as "not done" because I did not tap a key to confirm the appointment after the automated message. Unbelievable. I didn't confirm the appointment a second time, not realizing I even needed to, so he just doesn't show up? For a scheduled appointment? I reluctantly reschedule after nearly cursing out two reps on the phone because I still have no internet service and missed work to meet a no-show technician. The kicker? I get another automated call immediately after rescheduling saying the appointment is confirmed and "there is no additional action needed." Yea, right. Let's see about that when those lazy techs don't show up again tomorrow. Oh well. My Google fiber installation is already scheduled. Goodbye forever, Grande. Based on other recent reviews, I pray you go out of business very soon. read more

We've enjoyed their internet and phone service for years, which hasn't had any problems. The VOIP flexibility is nice. Their customer service, on the other hand, is lacking. Every time we've had to interact with them to change/add service, there've been multiple mix-ups on their end, causing uncomfortable delays (such as more than a week without phones for a whole, active office building), and their *minimum* response turnaround time to communication seems to be on the order of 48 hours. read more

Update to my 1/23/2019 and 2/20/2019 reviews. Summary is I received $50 increase in Jan and Feb this year. Tried to work with Customer Support but they were unwilling to do anything to reduce prices except cut services. So last weekend I cut the cord. Now only have Internet & phone. No tv and no Grande equipment. So far streaming is great! Cut bill from $250 to $97 with no loss of viewing selections. Sorry Grande. I gave you multiple shots at resolving the costs. You were not willing to work with me. I would have agreed to a mutually beneficial pricing level. Instead you are losing $150 / month for years to come. Do NOT use this company for Internet! We wanted to go local but unfortunately it was a mistake. I actually think a 1 Star is 1 too many. It's not just that our Internet goes off ALL THE TIME but the review is for their horrific customer service. Here's the deal, if you sign up with Grande you WILL be calling them often for no Internet. They make you answer a call to confirm the appointment you literally just made minutes ago...and another call the day of your appointment (which is NEVER the same day your Internet goes off) you must answer (God forbid you're working or busy) or they don't come. So out of 5 scheduled appointments following their instructions & answering their calls to triple confirm the appointment, they showed only 1 friggin time! No call of cancellation or letting us know they fixed the issue in the area or anything. Then we were promised we wouldn't be charged for the one time they actually came out & guess what??? We were charged!!! So I had to call twice to get it reversed & it's almost 2 months later & still no credit. Oh & good luck calling them as their stupid automated system doesn't ever understand you!!! UGH! AT&T, here we come :/ read more

Literally the WORSE internet/cable I've had the misfortune of using. Such crap, old technology- can't believe this company is considered a communication company- maybe in the 1990s. They don't have wireless boxes! HELLO it's 2020! Can stream anything! For a month I have been calling in telling them I can't stream- only for them to want to reset my modem- which doesn't work because it's a speed, processing issue. The tech came by tonight- clearly didn't want to deal with my issue. Told me we hear this all the time don't stream through the TiVO- just steam through the Smart TV, or I could pay more for a faster TiVO. Is this a joke? I've had Grande for a week now. I had to wait a week for someone to come out and hook me up, and my "window" was from 8am to 9pm. No joke. My service has been mediocre, at best. My internet is super slow, my TiVo's are super slow (like painful). I was on hold with tech support for 45 minutes with no answer. I finally called the line to cancel and got through after about 10 minutes. He transferred me to tech support and said it would be 10 minutes. It's now been over 25. What do you bet if I called sales I'd get through immediately? I should have read the reviews before I signed up. read more

UPDATE: back down to one star, for the clueless reply to my review. When a customer complains about ugly policies, the correct reply is NOT "yeah, but we said in the fine print that we will treat you that way..." Also, I went back and read that fine print, and the phrasing is ambiguous at best. It seems to turn on whether a declined credit card charge counts as a "returned payment". To me it does not: a "returned payment" is a throwback to the days of checking, when a business really did suffer costs from a check that didn't clear and got sent back to the business, even if it was just a mixup and did clear later. Not the case here. The tidal wave of negative reviews makes me think I made the right choice to get out. ORIGINAL: 1.0 star rating 10/2/2020 Previous review Avoid! They have an auto-pay trap that no other company sets. My credit card was reissued because of some bank administrative thing. In the few days that the card number was invalid, grande submitted my autopay. Declined, naturally, but Grande claimed a $30 fee for it (on a $9.44 bill!). Changing to google fiber, not looking back: cheaper, faster, and so far more reliable. No more service cutouts in the middle of online teaching. My Mom lives in a senior living facility in Pflugerville Texas. She found out basic cable is suppose to be part of her leasing contract after living there 11 months. We contacted Grande communications and requested the "basic" cable package box. They installed a box and began charging her $28.56/mo. I called them and asked why she was being charged. They explained they installed the wrong box. We scheduled the to change it out again. On the 2nd visit they install a different style box. She received her bill and was charged $31.16. I called again. The gentleman responding to my call sent me to another agent and hung up on me during that process. They are extreemly slow in responding to calls blaming it on covid 19. I called back again and finally I had someone on the line who could communicate and address billing questions. I scheduled the for a 3rd time to install the right box for Saturday July 25 from 8:00 -10:00 AM. It is now 11:30 AM and all I am told is they are on there way. I strongly suggest that you not use this company. read more

Pretty sure I'm done! You can't give a review with a no star rating. Cable and Internet are out tonight for the third time in as many months. Once recently it was two Friday nights in a row. Phone agent told me it could be anywhere from two hours to two weeks but I would just have to keep watching my cable to see when it was back on. For $246 a month with no add-ons not to mention being a loyal customer for years you would think it would be a little bit more reliable. Did I mention that tomorrow is the tax deadline and I'm trying to finish up my income tax? No Internet makes it impossible. Am I a little on edge? Uh Yes. read more

This is an update to a previous negative review. It's gotten worse. Following the initial review I was offered a discount to my bill from Grande. Instead, I just received my latest invoice and instead, it's gone up! We called about the issue and they wouldn't budge, not one cent, and I've been with the company since it began service in Austin. Very incompetent and un-professional business, couldn't even handle a simple transfer to another unit in the SAME apartment complex. Terrible customer service. I moved to another unit in my complex and created a new account with grande, because the old account was under my former roommates name. They let me keep the modem and I stopped by the office to make sure they recorded that the modem was returned by my old roommate and assigned to me. I also set up auto-pay on my credit card. A month later, my old roommate calls me and says Grande charged HIM for the internet service, and the worst part is customer service basically said there's nothing they can do. He had to cancel his card and report FRAUD to get a reimbursement. Very shady and probably illegal. What kind of company KEEPS CC information and puts it on another account at will? Are you kidding me, I will never trust grande again with my business. read more

Stay away! I literally had them install and cancel the service on the same day. The person that installed it would not even move the router or help test the service when done. We tested the service ourselves and was only getting 100 mps of the full gig that we signed up for. The technician said that the router was capable of 1000 mps but when we call the customer service provider Monica ID # 64239 she said that was not true and they only said that we could possibly get up 1 gig of speed but this was not guaranteed and they were not responsible. When we tried to cancel the service Monica said that we would be charged $50 for the installation. This company is a scam. The sales team is just a front for a terrible company looking to soak you while they can, don't let them take your money too! read more

Grande is terrible, if you have a choice do not pick them as your internet service provider. I had actually heard good things about their internet by word of mouth and on Reddit, but my experience with Grande has been terrible. They no showed for their installation appointment today at my apartment and didn't even bother to call me and tell me.
