That being said, as a general rule if you don't want any snarky comments or get shit on, don't tip less than a $20 for an hour or less than $25-30 for 90 minutes and even then $25 is pushing it, or you'll get attitude. I've been tipping a solid $20 for several years now, even back when people thought $10 was cool. Today we did a 90 and my wife didn't have cash so I gave her a $20 and we definitely received some snark. (My wife's therapist grabs the $20, looks at it for a few seconds, then in an incredulous voice looks at me and goes "how long your massage, 90?" The English wasn't perfect but I got the message, loud and clear) I managed to find another $5 and got a snarky "thanks" with some stank in the voice. I get it. Inflation is up, the economy is down, and it ain't 2018 anymore. I'm actually in agreement these ladies need to be tipped well for the job they do. But today's snark made it awkward and weird af. We enjoyed coming here for years because the massage has been consistently good, no question. But the attitude today has made it too weird to continue coming here, frankly it was a little annoying and embarrassing. This place is however a good option if you're looking for a deal of a massage and want to treat yourself without spending too much (I suggest checking Groupon to see if this place is still offering any discounts). I called for an appointment mid-week and was able to get an appointment for the upcoming Sunday. The inside looks a bit better than the exterior. Pulling up to the parking kind of looks like you've pulled up to a small apartment complex for businesses and you'll find the spa upstairs from the small parking lot. I'd rate the massage itself about 3 stars. The masseuses were speaking to each other in another language at full speaking volume during the massage a couple of times. It gave me the similar feeling of when I go get my nails done and am insecure if something is being said about me (except usually I expect even less chatter during a massage compared to getting my nails done). Compared to other massage spas I've been to, there were no aromas for relaxation that I noticed, nor were there any special beverages offered before the massage. They do give you a small paper cup of water after the massage. Overall, if you're doing the Groupon deal then it's worth coming here, but if it's for full price, I'd consider other options. There seems to have been a personal/management change a while back and most of the folks I knew previously are gone. But the new folks are all excellent. This place probably isn't for everyone so let me tell you what is and isn't here. From the outside the place looks a bit like a dive. The entryway is nice enough, although small. And the rooms and tables are minimal, Spartan, sparsely decorated, and almost cramped. I say "almost" because while the rooms seem small to me when I walk in and dress or undress, I don't believe the massages are affected at all. The music is grossly under par. Same stuff for months. Not offensive, just tiring. They've experimented with other stuff some recently but it's still not great. And this is one area where they could greatly improve for little or no added cost. It's true that the walls are thin and that the staff sometimes talks to coordinate what's going on. The thin walls I notice nearly every visit but it's rare for anyone in the room with me to talk. So... if you're looking for a zen cultivating decor or music, you may be disappointed. I also don't get the best massages of my life here. Sorry. One more thing you won't find here: $200/hr sessions. The prices here seem to follow an Asian massage practice, common at both "foot" massage places as well as whole body parlors where the hour long massage can be quite inexpensive, even as low as $15, but that seems to be the house take. The massage practitioners seem to live on tips so it's not uncommon to tip 50-100% rather than our common 15-20%. But even at 50% tipping, my total cost for massage plus tip here is still entirely reasonable. What I do find here and the reason I come back week after week, sometimes several times a week, are consistently excellent massages for very reasonable prices. I don't want to pay an additional $100/hr for nice decor and water features. I want the bulk of my money to go directly into the quality of touch and I believe Mind of Beauty is a superb match for me in this regard. Of the three practitioners I've been seeing recently, they are all my favorite. Or maybe my favorite is whoever I've just had. Coco, Mia, and Sandy are all slightly different but they are all excellent and of similar quality - consistently professional, consistently excellent. If you're looking for consistently excellent massages at an very good price, even including your tip, I highly recommend Mind of Beauty Day Spa. Please bring cash for tips and plan to tip considerably more than you would for wait staff.

When she had finished massaging my back and turned me over to my front side is when she offered "something extra." I declined and after that the rest of the massage got even worse. I could tell she was mad that I declined and she wasn't going to make money off "extra services." Once things were done, I offered a tip. She honestly didn't really earn it for the poor service but I was just trying to get out of there at that point.
