    Asteroid Chicken Sandwich with fries

Astro Beer Hall is solid for a casual night out. The decor and vibe are standard, but the ordering setup isn't obvious i.e. my friends and I weren't sure if we should go to the bar or wait, so clearer direction would help. The chicken sandwich hits the mark: crispy, flavorful, and surprisingly cheap after 9 PM with their discounted combo. In a pricey area, that late‑night deal is clutch and a solid sports bar. Great spot for budget‑friendly bar food and quick bites.

UVA beating number 8 ranked FSU at the downstairs bar at Astro

Experience can drive many a review, and my experience at Astro Beer Hall was exceptional. Our server was fun and engaged, the drinks were great, the energy was lively, the fun was tasty, and watching the UVA football team beat the number 8 ranked FSU was an experience I was glad to share with friends and strangers alike. Very fun bar, very fun night. My only comment on the food is that the "out of this world hot!" Chicken sliders could just be categorized as hot. They were spicy, but very much on this world.

I go here occassionally for post work HH and it never disappoints. pretty straight forward 'dive' (but as a dive bar type gal, this is VERY clean and put together to be considered a dive), with a digital screen listing all the beers on tap. i've had their plain tots and they are consistently crunchy and warm, i split a small order with three friends and it was plenty! Tons of seating both up and downstairs, bartenders are friendly and helpful, just bear in mind that since it's metro center, lots of businesses like to do post-work HH here.

Great beer and tasty wings on a cold December night. What more could you ask for? Friendly service? Check! Cozy atmosphere? Check! Lots of beverage options including NA beer, cocktails, and wine. We opted for some canned IPAs and their dry rub wings. They've got a bar upstairs which was a bit more lively with some sports games on the tvs. We opted to sit at the downstairs bar. It was the Tuesday night before new years, so it wasn't real busy. There's lots of space, a whole other room for games, a cozy couch in the corner, and high top tables too. We'll definitely be back!

Met a friend here for lunch. I had the chicken tenders and tator tots. Both amazing! :)

Stumbled across this place after walking around the monuments at night. I arrived around 8:50. Maybe 5 on the main floor and 5 on the lower. I thought that was odd it's a Friday night and the Capitals and nationals were playing games at that time. I ordered the Apollo smash burger sliders. That is three Pat Lafrieda beef burgers , American cheese , sautéd onions, pickles ,and special sauce serve a mini brioche buns. I also ordered two beers Suspended Logic from Delaware and Skipjack from DC. The mini burgers were great melted in my mouth and I didn't mind the pickles (which I hate pickles). The bartender Todd was pleasant and very friendly and helpful when I asked for places to see that aren't too touristy while in town. I heard him tell customers after 9 that the grill was shut down for the night only fried food can be served which I found odd since they close at midnight. Glad I got in when I did.

I really like this place. I came here a few times for the Olympics last summer, and it was one of the only bars that played events with sound, which I appreciated. I got the asteroid fried chicken sandwich with 'out of this world' hot sauce. It was delicious. The interior is really nice and there are plenty of TVs.

I had beer... would like more variety at the taps. Bartender worked hard. Place was a little loud so we sat near the door.

My friend hosted a happy hour there, and I love when events like that introduce you to new spots. The drink specials were honestly amazing with $6 drinks, which is hard to beat. The food specials ended at 7 while the drink specials continued until 8, so I was a little bummed to miss out on that. One thing to note if you're ordering food, the four cheese pizza comes with burrata, which I didn't realize ahead of time. I'd definitely come back to try more of the food, especially the flatbreads since they seem to have a lot of good options. That said, I don't think the staff was fully prepared for the size of our group. My friend brought around 60 people on a Friday night, and it was clear the servers were overwhelmed. At times, it took over 10 minutes just to place an order. I don't necessarily think that's the norm, so I'd be open to coming back during a regular happy hour to get a better feel for the service. Great size bar as well.

They are happy to recommend beer for your taste, and let you sample. It can be very busy and difficult to get a seat at the bar or get a table on a Friday or Saturday evening. I visited as part of the full experience -- dinner downstairs at Birch & Barley, then up to Churchkey for drinks -- and honestly, it's one of the best evenings I've had in DC. Churchkey itself is everything a great bar should be. The beer selection is absolutely unreal -- hundreds of carefully curated labels spanning every style, region, and flavor profile you can imagine. What sets it apart is that the staff actually knows the menu. Our server walked us through a few options based on what we liked and landed us on perfect picks both times. That kind of genuine expertise is rare. The tavern pizzas from the wood-fired oven were a wonderful surprise -- thin, crispy, and the perfect companion to a cold draft. The smash burger also deserves a mention: simple, well-executed, and hits the spot. The vibe is warm and lively without being overwhelming. Great for a date, a group, or even just sitting at the bar solo with a good beer and good conversation with the bartender. This place has earned its reputation as one of the best beer bars on the East Coast -- and then some. Highly recommend making a full night of it with both floors. You won't regret it.
