I was upgraded without permission and without telling me. I am livid that this store has wasted more than 3 hours of my time trying to reverse this illegal invoice. I will be reaching out to the store manager to inform them who was responsible for this 'upgrade'. Stay away, this is not a real AT&T store, they are actually known as 'Blue Link'. The representatives at this store mismanaged my plan so that my phone number was assigned to someone else and I was cut off from service. When I went back to fix the issue, they initially said that they would at least extend my service until it could be fully fixed but needed my wife (owner of our family plan) to come in. So on their recommendation she started driving in--only to be told that they had decided to close the store and wouldn't help us until the next day--leaving me without phone service. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION! My husband and I went to this location last weekend to open a new family plan with two lines. My husband wanted to switch his plan over from Sprint and I wanted to leave my existing ATT family plan and join my husband's plan. We also wanted to upgrade phones. When we arrived, Brandon was smoking a cigarette right in front of the store's entrance and blew smoke in my face. This is bad enough, AND I am pregnant. When we walked in, Adam and Brandon were the two employees working that day. Adam was occupied by a difficult customer, so we worked with Brandon. Brandon did not know how to do any of the services we asked of him, and we ended up being in the store for over 3 hours. With Adam's intermittent help (he was still busy with a difficult customer), we finally were able to leave. Once we left, there were numerous problems with our plan and with information that was given to us. 1) I asked Brandon if I deleted photos from my new phone that were downloaded from iCloud, would the photos still be on my computer? He assured me that if I deleted photos from my phone, they will only be deleted from my phone and will still be on my computer. I proceeded to delete all my old photos from my phone, and when I got home, noticed that all of my photos were also gone from my computer! I lost 5 years and over 5000 photos. 2) Brandon signed us up for ATT Advantage insurance and Next Up when we repeatedly declined each service. 3) He put us on separate plans rather than the family plan that we asked for, resulting in over $100 more in billing fees. 4) He put my parent's address as our address. 5) When I called back initially to state my extreme disappointment about my photos, Adam (the manager) replied with "I'm sorry, Brandon is just a kid and doesn't take criticism well. Thank you for understanding." Unfortunately, I don't understand how that is an appropriate response. 6) I called back a 2nd time once my husband and I realized that Next Up was added, and Adam again was dismissive and instructed me to call customer service to figure it out. * I'm so happy I called customer service because they were super helpful and were the ones who pointed out problems 2-4 above! 7) I called the store again to try to get the Regional Manager's information, and when I did so, Brandon answered the phone and said he doesn't have that information. He repeated that because he is a new hire, he doesn't know how to find that information and he was alone in the store at that time. Why is a new hire, who clearly doesn't know how to do the job, left alone in the store? Overall, my husband and I are extremely disappointed and upset by the lack of concern in the store's dealing with their mistakes. They incorrectly executed every single part of what we needed to get done. Not to mention we also have no idea how to reach a higher level manager because they are an independently owned authorized retailer and are not an ATT corporate store. Daniel J, the manager, told us to buy a new phone (for trade in value) and trade it in for promotional credit . Lied about every discount and the existing plan went up by $40. Especially when he wrote down and said the plan would go down by $90. Filing fraud charges against the manager and the store. AT&T still hasn't honored the promotional discount as well. I always do my AT&T dealings online because I just don't like waiting in line or being pressured to buy something by a salesperson. But when my phone dead and couldn't turn on and I had a busy day ahead of me, I needed this fixed fast! So I went to my closest AT&T store and when I walked in, the setup is different. Instead of the registers and sales people directly in front of you, they are on the right side of the store and all the phones on the left. I was faced with a salesgirl and she helped me immediately. She heard my issues and looked up my warranty which expired a few months ago. My only option was to upgrade to a new phone. She helped me with everything in finding a phone, the deals that came with the phone, and the free stuff ( YAY!). I had lots of questions and she was able to answer all of them. Shady business practices. As AT&T is my cell provider and I live in the area, naturally I have frequented this location when I've needed to upgrade a device, add a line, etc. I won't be back. On at least three occasions the CS rep I dealt with billed me for a service or accessory that I did not authorize. Most recently I've had to waste time dealing with the billing department in order to get insurance charges taken off my bill. Went in to add a line for my daughter (using an old phone we provided). Did not want nor was the topic of insurance brought up at any point during our interaction, so I was puzzled when we received a "thank you for signing up for AT&T insurance" notice in the mail! Investigated further and, sure enough, there it appeared on my bill. Had this been an isolated incident I might have chalked it up to an oversight, but considering this has happened on multiple occasions, there is obviously a pattern. (I've also used the Chestnut Hill location and have not experienced a similar issue there.) Buyer beware. read more

A joke of a store and reflects poorly on the already bad corporation that is AT&T. The employees only help you if you're 1) rich and 2) can help them meet their quota that day. I went in needing help switching a SIM card. One of the employees, whose name I didn't get since they didn't even introduce themselves to me, much less said hello, barely spent 3 minutes with me before pushing me toward their online support service. They then promptly moved to help a wealthy-looking patron who carried an expensive purse. Mark my words, as soon as T-Mobile and Verizon get their move on, AT&T is going extinct. read more

I ended up calling the AT&T corporate customer service line *611. I explained to them my situation and they informed me I was beyond the 14 days buyer's remorse refund to return the phone or revert back to my old phone without an $325 early termination fee. I wanted to return my S3 because I was able to get one for free from a friend who didn't need it and worked at Samsung. The agent was super helpful and even called the Brookline store for me while I waited on hold. She also had a difficult time dealing with the store and told me they would not even let HER speak to a manager. A fellow employee and AT&T representative couldn't even get a hold of a manager! The agent was able to credit me for the upgrade fee and an additional $100. That was satisfying to me enough for me to keep my phone and pass the S3 to someone else. Don't bother coming here for service when there are plenty of customer friendly stores in the Boston area. read more

AT&T is spending millions to promote this supposedly-amazing opportunity for existing customers to upgrade to the iPhone 13. The fine-print is that you have to upgrade your plan in order to receive credit for your trade-in. My plan has gone from $87 a month to $120 per month. This is shyster marketing because over 3 years I will pay more than the $1,000 for the phone. The next chance I get I will be moving off AT&T after 12 years on their network. read more

I recently switched my wireless service from Sprint to AT&T, along with moving my wife's phone from her family's plan to create a plan for the two of us. The entire process took over 3 hours in the store because the associate helping us was unable to figure out what to do without the help of the manager, who was busy dealing with a very difficult customer. After finally getting things set up and transferring our information via iCloud, my wife asked the associate "if I delete the pictures from this new phone, will they remain on my computer that is attached to my iCloud account?" After he said the pictures would remain on the computer, my wife deleted the pictures from the phone to create more space, but when we arrived home, she realized that the 5000+ pictures from the last 5 years were gone. We then called the store and spoke to the manager, who said he was sorry, but the pictures were gone. After seeing that the associate did not know anything about the service he is supposed to be providing, I looked at my new account information. At this point, I noticed the associate signed me up for AT&T Nextup, which I verbally declined twice. Again, we called the store to speak with the manager, who at this point became dismissive and simply said "call customer service." After calling customer service, who was extremely helpful, we found out that we were also signed up for phone insurance, which was also verbally declined multiple times. To top off the whole situation, it turns out that the associate never signed us up for a family plan, but for two separate individual plans, which would have cost us more than $100/month extra. Thankfully, the customer service representative was able to adjust the plan to put us on the same plan and remove the services that we were signed up for, despite not wanting them. Overall, my wife loves AT&T's phone service, which is why I switched over, but this experience has made me seriously question the training that is given to your in-store staff. read more

I started this account specifically to rate this AT&T store in Coolidge corner. The employees are completely rude and awful. I walked in and 2 sales reps were with customers. A third employee asked if I needed help. I told her my issue and she said that one of those 2 reps would help me. Meanwhile she went into the back room with 4 other employees and closed the door. After standing there awkwardly for 20 mins and neither of the reps even looking at me, I prepared to leave. Just then a different woman came out from the back and asked if I needed help. In the evening on Jan 7 we went to this AT&T shop to get my wife her first Iphone ever. The next day we found out that the Iphone 5s is defected. You can receive phone calls, but you will not be able to hear the other person. Hence I decided to give a call to the retail sale consultant who has sold the phone to us and informed him about the situation. I got the information that I should bring back the unit to the store and I will get a replacement phone. It sounds great at that time. However when I came to the store, I was informed that there are no phones available and I must go to Apple store to fix my problem instead. Instead for try to resolve the problem for me in a smooth way. Had the unfortunate experience of coming here and should have read reviews. The problem wasn't that they couldn't process my new phone replacement, but the way they treated my mother and I who I was trying to help. Instead of giving us the customer service number slowly, he just read off the number too fast. Then we asked if he could write the number down for us and he rudely handed us a pen. This is not customer service, this is making people feel like you don't have the time or patience for us. I asked if I could use my existing SIM card on an AT&T phone I already have (showed him both items) and he said the phone is fine but I'll have to get a new SIM card for $25. Asked around again today and turns out, what I have is fine!!! Several of the phones we were interested were dead and when we asked the employee about it she remained seated at her computer and shrugged. She did deign to inform us that they had very little inventory and that several of the phones were out of stock (without leaving her seat). Someone came in eventually and answered a few questions, but he then drifted over to where the other employee was and just chatted with her. I really don't enjoy writing a bad review, however I must in the situation. Why didn't I look on yelp at the reviews before going in? I figured I live in the area and it is my service provider how bad could the store possibly be? I went into the store in Coolidge corner around 12:30 PM. Three workers were there and I was the only customer at the time. I immediately was approached and started the process of assisting me. I informed the associate that I was there to buy a galaxy 8. Was immediately sold on the iPad deal for $99. That was completely fine with me, I have been in the market for one anyways. The young lady brought out the iPad and the iPhone eight. However I informed her I did not want the Apple iPhone, I requested the galaxy 8. She then informed me that because I had an apple to begin with, I would most likely lose all of my information from my iPhone. Sure, she's the expert what do I know? With much hesitation I decided to get another iPhone. When she informed me that my total came to $1358.00, I was floored. $700 - Iphone $99 - iPad $175 - accessories $65 tax +/- Not totaling $1358. I told her I wanted to see how she came up with her total, she showed me her handheld device and was scrolling up and down faster than I could see anything. Four times I asked her to slow down so I can see the items and the cost they i was being charged. She then told me she cannot help me anymore. She knew that I was getting frustrated with her because there was a $250 difference in cost that she was coming up with and I was coming up with. I then told her I will take my business elsewhere, I don't feel comfortable getting ripped off. She proceeded to tell me I will be charged a $45 restock fee for the iPhone and for the iPad. I did not give her a credit card to charge nor did I sign anything, nor did we finalize anything. I was there with my three year old son and was completely blown away by her attitude and behavior toward any customer. When she told me she was charging me the restocking fee, I then said I need to speak to a manager. To make a very long story short, my total was not $1358 it was $1140. I informed the manager (she was super nice and knew what she was doing) that her employee may need to have a little bit more training. Being a mother and an adult, as I was leaving I told Victoria the woman who had no clue what she was doing, that I apologize for any misunderstanding that she may have had. She puts her head up looks at me and says "yeah." The manager was very helpful, this employee named Victoria was awful. I wasn't looking for anyone to be reprimanded, but have a little decency when dealing with customers. I am not typically an irate person by any means. But I certainly was when leaving the store. I came in today and was short tempered about my phone and at&t upgrade terms and the gentleman who helped me used incredible customer care and service, and went above and beyond to offer me ways to clean my phone thoroughly and decide on an upgrade be option. I came into this location of AT&T today with an issue, and I had a great experience being helped. I had to wait a few minutes since there were already a few customers inside, but soon enough a girl with long brownish hair was able to help me. She looked up my plan and told me that my phone was unfortunately past its one year warranty date. However, she felt sympathy for me when she realized it had only been a couple weeks since my warranty expired (as any human should). She went and talked to her manager. I got a cellphone from AT&T on Aug 16th, 2011, and on Sep 10th, I found the touchscreen was not working properly. Thus I went to an AT&T store to try to get it exchanged because it was still within 30days. us $50. On Sep 13th, I went to AT&T store located at 1329 Beacon St, Brookline MA, but the store manager Ken Franson and assistant store manager Jessica Singleton told me they didn't have my model in stock (which was not true as I went to another AT&T store later that day and the sales rep showed me their stock in Beacon St store where they have tons of the same model.) The store manager and assistant manager Ken and Jessica respectively don't have any honesty. Today on Sep 14th, I went back to Beacon st store and asked about how they would like to fix this problem, they didn't try to exchange my phone knowing they have the same model in stock but argued with me. In the whole process, they were very unpolite, rude and showed no respect to people. I believe this is not acceptable within an excellent company as AT&T. I have been a loyal customer with AT&T for 5 years, but the experience with the last two days totally changed my impression of this company. The store manager and assistant manager are especially not acceptable because they not only didn't help customers to solve their problems but lied to customers. And even when the customer found out there's no physical obstacles to exchange the phone, they still didn't make effort to correct their fault. This is not only a custom service issue, but also about the whole honesty and credibility about the sales team. I hope AT&T can give a reasonable solve for the problem I came across. This place, along with Brian (sales rep), does not even deserve one star. TERRIBLE customer service and super shady. They'll do a quick pre-assessment in terms of whether or not you're a potential real buyer/how much money they can make off of you. With that said, as soon as they get a 'whiff' that you, as a Customer, might not help them make money, they'll push you away towards Online services while phrasing it in a manner where they try to come across as looking out for "your" best interest (if all of the info is online then what are the employees getting paid for??) I was directed to go to the att store by the att rep I spoke to on the phone. When I went in the store the employee there did not want to help. Gave me one word answers. Instead of trying to solve a problem that was on att's end, two of their employees there just went to the back to their store and began socializing and left the customer service area without giving me any insight into how I can resolve the issue at hand. Straight up told me call 611 (who originally told me to go to their store). 611 put me on automated message for 56 minutes, finally when I got to talk to a rep, she told me to go to the store, Again. Literally the worst store I have ever been in. Including all non-AT&T stores. If I was AT&T, I would fire everybody that works here and start fresh. If I was the president, I would order a tactical nuclear strike on this store. I would rather wake up every morning by being punched square in the face by Mike Tyson than ever go to this store again. I'm not sure if the guy that I dealt with (Kenneth) was high, or if he just completely lacked any thought. Had a simple phone trade-in, and nobody in the store had any clue what was going on. Took TWENTY MINUTES to even be acknowledged by an AT&T staff member, and AN HOUR to even begin to interact with one. After an hour and a half, I basically had to walk the staff member though the steps. Seriously--in a short period of time, I was more of an expert on AT&T's systems than a guy that had presumably worked there for years until he became a manager. If you have a choice of going to absolutely ANY other AT&T store, do it. Coming to this store is a huge waste of your time. read more

I was in this store on 7/12/14, and it was the worst experience I have ever had with any ATT&T store. I went in and waited for an employee, which was fine. When it was my turn, (I lost my phone and needed to replace it) he realized that the contract holder, my stepfather, needed to add me to the contract. He said it would only take a minute or two. I made the call from their store and waited for my stepfather to do it. After listening to store associate KEVIN's spiel about some app, another customer came in. For some reason, he agreed to help her while I waited. Less than 5 minutes later, my stepfather got in contact to say that my name was added, so I could get a new phone. I told store associate KEVIN, who told me he would be done in 10 minutes. 45 minutes later, after the girl called 2 people to ask their opinion about apple care and whether or not she should get a pink or black case, KEVIN was finally able to help me. At that moment, I told him I wanted to get a 4S, and he informed me that they were out. I wasted an hour of my time for nothing. I don't know why store associate KEVIN took on another customer when he told me himself that adding me to the contract would take less than 5 minutes, and I also don't know why when I told him I was ready he didn't help me, and I also don't understand why he didn't inform the girl after 20 minutes that he had other customers, like ME, who had been there before her. Busy 4G reservation day. You all know what day that was... Instead of dealing with anticipated moody sales reps, I was fortunate to have SAMUEL JOHN to my rescue when the systems crashed. He took my information kindly and called me several times during the day to patiently follow-up with the tech error. Since I was working, I didn't return his call until after his work shift was over. He STILL managed to reassure that my information will be submitted and transaction will be processed as soon as the error was cleared. The next day, Mr. JOHN sent a cheerful message, an iPhone receipt with specific instructions. Either SAMUEL A. JOHN needs a promotion and/or a BIG raise. Thank you! ____ I'm back for the second time to add yet another fabulous service rep named ERIN. She reported my problem immediately with great apologies. I received an email the following day. Not only did I return with my new phone in waiting, she accommodated beyond her duties a half hour before her long work day was over. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because someone at this store screwed me up in the first place. Instead of transferring my individual plan to a family plan when my husband joined up, we were charged for my individual plan PLUS a family plan that only my husband was on, resulting in a $300+ bill. (gasp.) Enter 'Erin', who was not only sympathetic and sorted our plan out so that both members of our family were on the family plan (which will save us well over $150 a month) but she also told us when to come back and who to speak to so that we could get a good portion of our current bill refunded. Erin gets 5+ stars, previous service gets about 1 (for at least being polite while they messed up our accounts). read more

When I discovered what had happened AT&T would not restore it even when store admitted it made the error. When connected to AT&T supervisor Barry Mikulis, he was totally unprofessional and would not allow me to talk to a superior. I keep coming back because it's conveniently located for me, walking distance, but no more. They lie to you and have cost me hundreds of dollars because of it.
