Very difficult experience. First of all it took 30 minutes for the guy to reveal he didn't have the device in the store. Then he said would be delivered tomorrow. Then said that would be $15 extra. I told him what phone number I would like to search for. He just gave me a random number. I knew he wasn't listening to anything I was saying. Then I said just cancel the order. He couldn't do it. If I could give zero stars, I would. I've been an AT&T customer for over 15 years, and tonight's experience at this store was absolutely unacceptable. I arrived with a smile, ready to inquire about switching to a prepaid plan. Instead of receiving professional assistance, the staff member responded with a rude, dismissive attitude, saying, "How long have you been living in the US?" I answered, "Since 2010." He then asked, in a tone that felt more like mockery than a genuine question, "How much money you want to spend tonight, bruh?" (in a stereotypical accent, despite him being Asian). I was shocked--I felt like I had walked into the wrong place. When I told him I wanted the $300/year prepaid plan, he replied with a sarcastic smile, "We only do the $65/month plan here." The manager came out of the office at that moment, nodded in agreement with him without even understanding the full situation, and offered no help. To top it all off, as I was leaving, the staff member threw in a sarcastic "Enjoy your night." This attitude and lack of professionalism are appalling. As a loyal AT&T customer for over 15 years, I never expected to be treated so poorly. If this is how AT&T allows their staff to treat customers, they've lost my trust. Avoid this location if you expect even a basic level of respect or helpfulness. Strongly recommending against this store. read more

I recently upgraded my iPhone-not purchased from this location and was having difficulty transferring my old phone to my son. Everything went well, except that I couldn't get the phone to work--no incoming and wasn't able to make any outgoing calls. I came to the location closest to me and was greeted by Padam. After explaining my situation, he wasn't sure if he could help me--I felt he gave me a hint of attitude & said he was only a technician, not sure what that meant. Within 20 minutes, he got the phone working. Despite the initial attitude, the outcome was a fully functioning phone and for that I have to say his service/helpfulness was good. read more

An employee at this store tricked my immigrant mom and brother who is on the spectrum into opening a new line/buying a new phone when they just wanted to change a phone number. The employee gave me attitude when I questioned why he made them open a new line. The ATT reps I've spoken to on the phone said this was a fraudulent and should have never happened. I went in for an iPhone X charging cable. The person who was in the store was friendly and helpful. But the cable didn't really work right.

I wish I could give 0 stars. There were two staff members present. One of them was being so with another customer. And the one helping us simply refused to answer our questions or provide assistance. We simply needed help transferring or closing our account. Most of the process had already been completed online but we had some additional questions and concerns. The staff member simply said: "Why don't you call customer service? They will help you." I explained that I had already spoken with customer service online and wanted to clarify some issues in person. His response was: "I have another lady online waiting before you, so I cannot help you right now. Why don't you call the customer service number?" He then walked back to his desk without further discussion. At that point, I realized I would not be getting any information/help from this person. I left rather than argue. His name tag identified him as Padam. I hope At&t provides him with training in customer service. At a minimum, he should have listened to my concerns instead of dismissing me immediately. Rude pushy sales person is the norm for this store. Just can't be bothered. Told him I had previously received offers from AT&T for upgrades but as I offered my phone number so he can check my status he just answered back what type of phone I had. When I told him that I had the Samsung A71 5G, he said he never heard of that phone and I responded that he should since I got that phone from this store. He then was able to look up the phone and said they give a resell value to me and I had to choose from 4 phones. After less than 3 minutes, he wanted a decision on what phone I was getting, I said I need to check the specs which seemed to upset him so he just murmured to himself and walked away. My spouse and I came in to the AT&T Store in Westlake (Daly City) today specifically to buy a new phone (not new service or a new number, only a new phone to use with our preexisting AT&T service). There were 0 other people in the store, which was nice compared to Stonestown (40 minute wait on average). When we told the salesman we wanted a new phone, he said "you can't only buy a phone", and proceed to pressure us into also buying a new number and a new service contract. I told him that the Stonestown store had already confirmed we could buy only a new phone to use with our old SIM card. This is when the salesman became even more aggressive about pressuring us to get a new phone number and a new service contract. When I requested yet again that we only wanted the phone, he flat-out refused to sell it to us and told us to "go back to Stonestown, or buy a phone at Best Buy". I couldn't believe my ears; refusing our money AND being a jerk just because we wouldn't get a new number or new service from him. Needless to say, I absolutely will never return to this AT&T store. I've been an AT&T customer for decades, so I was upset at the poor customer service both at this store and with their billing call center. The lack of service at this store was the last straw, and it was the reason why I switched to T-Mobile. There's a T-Mobile store next door. Go there instead. I went here on a cold November night to do 2 things: 1. Figure out why they were charging me $12 more a month when there were no added or updated services to my line 2. If we could resolve that issue, I wanted to get a new phone. I got to the store with customers and staff inside, and I pulled the door and it was LOCKED! Other customers were by the door and they said they weren't sure what was going on either. It's terrible to literally leave your customers out in the cold, so I went to check T-Mobile, and their service was high quality, quick, and helpful, so I switched! My next bill from AT&T came, and it was $40 more than usual. I called the number on the bill, and they said because I switched they couldn't help me!! This was after 40 minutes of getting the run around. I've probably paid close to $20K in phone service for the last 20 years of being a loyal customer, so this was so upsetting! I regret being a customer and will never use AT&T ever again. read more

I needed to transfer a number to a new device I purchased from Costco. One of the employees (asian, male) kept yelling for me to go back to Costco AT&T, that he cannot transfer the number. He was rude and unprofessional. He even refused to give me his name. Another employee offered to help and said he can transfer the number. He became pushy for my info and drivers license, then insisted I return my phone and purchase a phone through them instead. I left to the AT&T on gellert ave and they were able to transfer my number. I decided to file a complaint to AT&T regarding this location but it isn't listed as one of their stores. The Gellert location is on the list, which led me to believe this store isn't a legitimate AT&T store. Take your business and personal information elsewhere for your own protection. read more

Ashim was quick, informational, and very helpful on the product that I had bought. If anyone in the area is looking to upgrade, add a new line, buy accessories, or any other type of phone service. Horrible customer service. If you aren't there to buy a phone or get an upgrade, they will not help you. I've been an AT&T customer for over 20 years and am seriously looking to switch. My son's camera is broken and I've gotten the run around from this store. When I tried to file a claim online with the insurance, it told me to go into the store. When I went into this store, which is where I purchased the phone, they told me they couldn't do anything about it. Not only was the employee unhelpful but he was downright rude. Because apple screwed up older iPhone customers to make us upgrade by providing updates that cripple our phones then force us to go to bestbuy for assistance with a two to three week wait which is unacceptable so I may switch to another phone like Samsung. With that said, I visited the at&t store in Westlake yesterday and was overwhelmed by the valiant effort the reps put in to help me, they don't work on tips yet still spent an hour trying every tool at their disposal to no avail. I would have bought another phone on the spot but their promotion won't allow me to keep the number THEY gave me in June 2020 when I couldn't keep the number I had for years. Reps- Justine and a young woman who's name begins with a B please forgive my not remembering her name both whom provided not only top level customer service but great conversation to make the time more pleasant. Just went into this store to pair an Apple Watch with Cellular to a phone and the rep says "I own an Android and my manager is not here". Do you only sell Android's or do you work at a store that sells all phones. Would have been cool if he didn't have an attitude. If you don't like servicing people don't get a service job. Speaking of myself a 30 years loyal customer to at&t. First time experiencing the terrible customer service by padam today at 5pm. we walked in and he turned his face toward the entrance but without any greeting. we stayed for a while since there is two other groups. Another person walked in a few mins after us and padam greeted them. I walked toward to him and ask are you available he said not today and asked us to come back tomorrow. I asked him what time the store close and he said 6. he then asked what are you here for today. I said to turn in the traded phone. He then threatened me and said if you don't want to lose your money you should go back to the location where you trade in your phone otherwise at&t will mess up your stuff and you don't get any money, and needed to find the same person to return the phone. I found this unwelcome service and the threatening conversation really racist. padam selectively greet customer and personally excuse of not assist customer with non extra profitable service to turn down customer. After a very bad experience in getting the galaxy 22 ultra phone by mail , we went to get the phone set up at the Westlake Daly City store,walking in we were greeted and acknowledged right away. The manager Akmal came up and since he had a client refereed us to Mahmoud. There was a problem that we were not made aware of at the Belmont office. Mahmoud call customer service he and Akmal where on the phone for about almost an hour finally got the service plan ironed out and after several hours of working on getting the correct service and setting up the new phone we are very happy. Customer service is # 1 in any business regardless of what it is ,Akmal and Mahmoud were very professional and helpful to us and to every customer that walked in even though it was only the two of them when it got super busy with several customers coming in they took care of every person. With the help of Tashari, the district manager and Akmal we finally are very happy with the new phone and when I need to upgrade my phone or any phone problem I will go to the Westlake office. This week I came to Att branch at Westlake, I asked for assistance Akmal the manager approached to me courteous and charming without expecting what I will encounter after. My intention was to switch companies. However, after my experience I decided I will not be Att. During my visit, Akmal didn't provide undivided attention. He was constantly answer his phone and been interrupted by other associate. I couldn't feel more disrespectful. He call Kevin who was very helpful and knowledgeable. He communicated clearly and honestly. He patiently answer all our questions. I asked Kevin was the language the manager was speaking over the phone because it was not English. Akmal, back and for act alternating between with the phone calls and showing that he was interested in help. However, Kevin was the person with outstanding customer service. After my visit to the store I had receiving weird text messages from the manager I feel harassed. This manager has unethical attitude associates has confirmed.
