AT&T Store - Jantzen Beach Center, Portland…read more Absolute nightmare. I went in just to buy a SIM card. Simple, right? Not at this store. I had the misfortune of dealing with a young, entitled employee who clearly had no interest in helping anyone. First, he refused to sell me the SIM because I didn't have a product number--something he could've easily looked up himself. Eventually, on my second visit, he magically found a product code that worked. Great, problem solved? Nope. Instead of just setting up the account correctly, this genius entered completely random information--fake name, fake email (1234@gmail.com), and no way to recover the account because it was a data-only plan (no text messaging). He literally sabotaged the setup, whether out of laziness or spite, I don't know. Either way, it locked me out of the account entirely. It took me three full days to get back in, dealing with AT&T's support to prove who I was, fix the mess, and finally get access. All because this employee couldn't be bothered to do the most basic part of his job. Honestly, I hope this waste of space got fired--or more likely, quit to crawl back to his parents' basement and play video games all day. Maybe by now he's cut his fingernails too, because watching him type made me sick to my stomach. Save yourself the hassle. Go to literally any other AT&T store. This one is a joke.

Another Cricket Wireless store. These things go up and down faster than your mamma and suck just as…read morebad. Mostly, it's Cricket as a whole, as an entity, as a company. But individual stores seem unable to do just about anything (like help) and often refer back to the website or corporate - as they did in today's visit. First off, couldn't even find a cricket store because the 2 (or three) that used to be along Lombard within the last 2 years are all gone. But I remembered my friend telling me he'd seen a new one next to Ace Hardware. Indeed there is. The place smelled so strong of a horrible soap/perfume that I considered leaving without getting help. Eventually my nose got used to it, or the customer drenched in it walked out. Supposedly Muve Music comes free with my Cricket plan. It's never ever ever opened on my phone. The woman here told me that I needed a Muve SD card. Thank you, Revived Technology for not telling me that. They can only be found at corporate. Well then, how it all feels like a huge waste of time - like every encounter with Cricket is. But at least I didnt leave this one with anger and cruelty in my heart, but resigned sadness that it will take at least 3 times the time and effort it should.. because it's Cricket!

Yikes, it's just not pleasant writing reviews like this, but it's done with good intentions and…read morewith the hope someone will read it and make room for improvements. I'm just starting my journey of research on replacing or keeping my current phone and what provider I wish to choose This outlet is right next door to the much-loved St. John's Ace Hardware and also near a couple of other customer magnets, The Dollar Tree and Grocery Bargain Outlet Store. Wishful thinking can cause one to believe that the luster of Ace's customer service and organization will rub off on its neighbors and that customers would just naturally come in due to the nearness of the other two stores. Sadly this is not so, and advantage is not being taken of this fact. The store is at least twice as big as it needs to be, and it is clean and attractive. There are very few products on display (maybe eight or ten phones with cardboard cutouts representing the screens) and a ton of signage that takes up a lot of space and gives lots of information that doesn't seem connected logically to the other signs. I wandered around for a minute or so until the young female associate (only Cricket person visible in the store) came out of a back room and told me she would be right with me after the other people in the store had been helped. OK, fine, I'll wait for awhile. I tried to get up to the single display of phones to take a look at what they had, but the other couple being helped wouldn't allow me to take a close look or read the fine print. I was patient on the outside (but on the inside I felt like nudging them aside). As they were so intent on looking at products, the young associate tried to help me with my questions, but she didn't know how to take the lead and walk me through the whole sales process. I think she is either new or hasn't had much training, but she does not know her products and information cold like she should. She did try to explain, but lost my interest early on just for that reason. I think she wants to do a good job, but she doesn't know how to be something of a live-wire and use her personality to make the sale. In the past when I have bought items such as digital cameras and phones, it's been because the person knew their product information to the letter and knew how to lead me to water AND make me want to buy. This young woman needs to develop her sales story and learn how to close the deal. I finally walked out. I might go to another Cricket store, but I think probably not. They lost me because the bait on the hook was not good enough. I hope they can get someone in there to model proper sales behavior to this young person and help them out before they lose more sales which would be sad because they're so close to three of the biggest customer magnets in this area of St. Johns: Ace Hardware, The Dollar Tree, and Grocery Bargain Outlet Store..
