I chatted with AT&T to do an exchange for a defective phone, but for some reason the emailed label to do the return never came through despite repeated re-sends. They told me I could go in person for help with returning the defective phone and exchanging for a new one. I go to this location and I'm told it's $55 restocking fee despite the phone being defective because they can't resell it as new since I opened it. I was told I had to go through Apple due to their warranty. I left and called AT&T and received a free exchange with the defective phone being returned with no fee. Unsure why both the online and phone representatives were willing to do a free exchange and this store wasn't. read more

ZAGG cracked and busted within a week while having a phone case installed as well. Anyhow, went to the store about it and was told I need to go to the mall ZAGG store to get help? What? My phone was recently "fried" by accidentally getting soaked in water during a very sudden heavy downpour. I was wearing a slicker and water accumulated in the pocket where it was being kept. I couldn't get it to recharge later and had to take it to Tmobile, my service provider, and they confirmed after testing that it was finished. I borrowed a friend's phone and called my brother to please not be concerned and that I was OK. The next thing I knew he had had bought me a Samsung phone and case at AT&T, his provider. I had a hard time getting it set up, so he dropped by because I was getting frustrated. And this after troubleshooting computers at OHSU for years. To say the least, this was embarrassing, but being the great person that my brother is he took me over to this store to get help. Desiree, the customer service rep, was so kind, didn't even laugh at me after hearing my story. God bless her for that alone. My pride had taken a beating. Anyhow, she made it so easy and we did have a good laugh when all was said and done. With her help, I was able to get back into my Facebook page. Although I had to come back to have my new phone connect to the network properly (there was an apparent error that could have been notice/corrected upon my first visit), I appreciate how quickly the issue was address and the fact that the employees stayed 45 minutes after closing to correct the issue. Jordan and Peter were great, even patiently helping another customer who insisted on spilling her awkward life story and cut off being helped by an employee to answer her phone and have a loud argument with her son. I'm sure any cell phone carrier customer service employee has dealt with a lot more than this, but they still made an effort to helpful and patient. Peter helped to resolved our issue by calling his supervisor a few times to find a work-around for my phone's issue and I left with a functioning new phone. Definitely the best experience I've had in store at a cell-phone provider. read more

I hate shopping for cell phones, I always feel I'm getting ripped off, that I'll have to sign away my first born, and that I'm going to get a high pressure sales pitch. I use my phone for calls, the calculator, and the alarm clock. That's it. When I broke my third Motorola SLVR (I don't do well with flip phones because I'm clumsy and drop them and break the flippy part off) my husband got me a 20 dollar Go-phone and it worked just fine. If you have AT&T, you can use a Go-phone and put your SIM card in it, which is great if you are going on a trip or to the beach and don't want to risk losing your expensive nice phone. BUT, we're moving back to Cali and I need a phone that can do Bluetooth, since it is illegal to drive and hold a phone to your ear. So off we go to AT&T. I got a lovely orange Samsung slider phone, which isn't as easy to break, but if you drop it while you are talking to people it will close and end the call. Ooops. I also got a Bluetooth Motorola thing, the less expensive one on the advice of the salesguy, and it's really cool. I had to go back and get some help learning how to use it, but now that I've figured out how to make calls, not just receive them, I'm loving looking like a dork with my blinky blue earpiece. I do take it off when I'm not using it, I'm not THAT dorky, despite what you may hear. The coolest thing was they had one of those money booths on the weekend we went, and I got to stand inside and grab the money. It saved us 60 bucks on the purchase of my phone and earpiece. Yay! AND there are lots of groups that get a discount there, so if you work for a big business or are associated with a group, ask them to look. I got 15% off my monthly bill through my employer. It doesn't get five stars because I'm still waiting for my rebate check for the phone, and it pisses me off. If you are going to give the money just do it up front, don't make me jump through the hoops and pray that the check arrives some day. read more

Brian was unprofessional in every way. I couldn't hear what he was saying or what he was offering me. He was mumbling. He would leave to the back room multiple times and be gone from 7-12 minutes each time. The last time he left to the back, I just got up and left to a different store to buy a phone. After leaving, I noticed that my phone had no service and was disconnected. I came back to this location. As soon as I walked in, Brian saw me and left for lunch for one hour. I was told by another employee that I had to wait for him to get back from lunch and wasn't offered any help or explanation. The worse part in this situation is that he, Brian, signed for me, without me being there and without my knowledge or approval, for the new device. That's UNEXEPYTABLE! He never told me he's going to do that! What if I left and bough a new phone at Best Buy and didn't come back here?!? I would've-paid for two phones! Another thing, I wasn't offered the box for charger and I didn't know it wasn't inside. After all this, I drove to a Vancouver location on 63rd and Andersen. It was the most pleasant experience with them. Night and day difference from that location in Portland. Every two years I have terrible experiences at franchise stores so this upgrade we made a conscious effort to go to a corporate store. Both my partner and I work/have worked in retail management for combined decades, so it was unsettling to have two employees doing nothing but standing in a crowded store taking names for a queue that was over an hour long. We just wanted to purchase new phones - did not want to make any changes to our plans (which are separate accts). Just pay, scan the barcodes and get out. Waited over an hr to do this simple transaction. The employee, Jeff, who assisted us, we were very explicit in repeating half dozen time that we did not want to make any changes to the acct. Apparently that translated to "add $10+ insurance, a random $50 charge even tho it's an add-on line, not attaching a voice mail to the acct, reducing the line to 100 mg instead of the grandfathered unlimited plan so two days after having the phone it's already timed out" . . . In the month I've owned the phone I've had to call AT&T corporate line four times so far to fix and reverse all the eff-ups the incompetent employees have done to a phone that is just shy of $1k. My partner? Same issue. He's used the chat service on three separate occasions to fix what an hour of waiting and terrible service has messed up. A little over a month later, we're still not sure everything is normal yet. When we asked AT&T how to avoid incompetent employees and mistakes, they said just order it from the website and set the new phone up from them. . . Kinda catch-22 when you need a phone to call to set up a phone. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. If you have to go in - just don't go here. read more

I called to find out if they had a certain phone in stock - on hold forever, ended up hanging up after 10 minutes - um, how many minutes are they TRYING to make me waste? I got to the store and it took them 5 minutes to even address me. Then a woman eventually took my information and told me that I should go look at phones and she would send a sales rep over. Well, that sales rep never showed up - no one asked me if I needed any help - but OTHER PEOPLE that came in after me were helped! WTF??? Also, I looked for the woman that had originally told me to go into the sea of nothingness, and she was nowhere to be found. This place can just go ahead and suck on it... Where to begin. Try and find a place to park, good luck. Try and find a parking space that will fit a vehicle bigger than a Bug, good luck. Try not to get run over in the parking lot, good luck. About the store. I thought I had misplaced my car charger (turns out it was under my seat) and my battery was down to 18% so I thought I could quickly swing in and by a new one, not exactly. You would think I could grab one off of the display and go up to the counter and purchase it -nope. I had to "sign in" first and wait for a salesperson. Fifteen minutes later I finally get help. The salesperson looked up my account so I know they knew how long I have been with ATT, which brings me to my next beef. A few days later I found my old charger under my seat and attempted to return the charger I had just purchased however every time I drove through the parking lot there was NO PLACE TO PARK. Knowing that there is a 30 day return policy I finally got lucky and found a place to park on day 28. Guess what happens next? I am told they recently changed the return policy, it's now 15 days. The salesperson then turns over the receipt to show me and says maybe I have a family member or friend that would have a use for it-really! Are you kidding - the salesperson should have pointed that out to me when he sold me the charger. Avoid this store!!!!!!! read more

The stools are a bit too high for an older person to get up on, so he was kind enough to bring all my selections to the table so I didn't have to get up and down. I upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy S4 yesterday and this was our first visit to this location. The store was pretty busy for a Saturday afternoon, but we only waited about 4 minutes for Jordan to assist us. Jordan was very friendly, informative, and just made the whole experience easy and comfortable. As with any customer/sales rep, there are the usual AT&T plans and extra features he must tell you about, but he did so in a way that was not pushy and he would leave the topic once we declined. I told him what my needs were in a smartphone and he was able to accommodate. I was also glad that he was able to transfer my phone contacts from the old iPhone 3G to my new phone (I know, that's ancient!!). There were only a couple of "off" things about our visit, but I'm pretty easy-going and things like this just happens and yet, I know other people would be really disgruntled if it happened to them and it would become the focus for a horrible experience. First was the fact the iPad he used to process my order would freeze up and he had to select the option multiple times for it to go through. This hiccup added time (would wait up to a minute or two ) and I think we were there for 45-50 minutes total. Second, we had to stand for almost the entire time. There are only 3 tables with chairs in the entire store; it was a busy Saturday afternoon and this is a spacious store. So, AT&T, please send them more furniture to accommodate customers and make sure their iPads are in working order. In the future if I ever need to return to the store I hope Jordan is available to help out and that I have another agreeable experience there. read more

Picked up a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 less than 24 hours ago. I was told it would be 1/2 hour wait. A little over 1.5 hours later I was getting help. This store is always way too long of a wait time. After receiving the phone I spent another 7 hours installing apps and setting everything up. The bad part is the phone was having troubles. Extreme lag. The back button would sometimes respond immediately then sometimes it would not respond at all. I called AT&T technical support and they suggested factory resetting the phone. This didnt resolve the problem. I still have the lag issues. I went to the store in Vancouver on 63rd and andressen and was treated poorly by the manager Riley. He stated there would be a $35 restocking fee. This is ridiculous for a defective phone that I have had less than 24 hours. I then proceeded to go back to the store in Portland on Washington St. I returned it back to the AT&T store and was told it would be a 20 minute wait by their manager at the Washington St location. It's been a long time. I expect the same results as the past times I've been here with over an hour wait.. This store is severely understaffed. Second there is only one bench for customers to sit on. The rest of their customers have to stand or sit on the floor. I write this review from the luxury of sitting on the dirty floor. After almost 50 minutes their rep finally took care of things and waived the restocking fee. I guess I will have to patiently wait for Samsung to work the bugs out before considering an upgrade again. read more

Honestly I don't understand how this location is in business. I showed to a different AT&T store which was a authorized retailer which unfortunately couldn't help us because we needed to go to an actual AT&T store. So we called the store directly before arriving and the gentleman told me that we should come on down and he will take care of us. When we arrived they were super friendly but they kept trying to upsell us and sell us direct tv, a home phone line, and even an additional line as an emergency phone. Why would I need an additional phone as an emergency phone? We were just interested in getting two brand new iPhones but since we did not opt in for their other services he immediately took the phones back to the back room and said he couldn't help us. I'm here trying to spend $2,000 with your company but your turning that away. I give you applause. You sure did make a sale. I am driving away and didn't spend a single dollar. I hope management can see this and have a conversation with them on under delivering on the services they promised over the phone and the attitude we were given. I'll see what phone company will take my $2,000 and give me 2 new iPhones and possibly an Apple Watch. I doubt I will have a problem with trying to give that money away for those products. read more

When I signed the contract I was told that my iPhone 7 trade in would let me get a SamsungS20 5G FE for free and I would get entire monthly amount back credited. Thid is not the case and I have ended up paying dearly for the new device.. Until now, they have not given me the receipt that says the new phone is worth $350 based on the promotion.. they keep beating about the Bush. They lied again and again and again! Also the rep did not let me know that he did not insert the Sim into the phone. ALSO I had no idea that I had signed for insurance and advances support when I had specifically told him not to sign me up for any additional items in the plan.. Both the Manager and the sales rep keep claiming that they communicated everything when that is far from the truth. The customer service in this store is pathetic. They made me wait for almost 2 hours to get me the new phone and contract because they were fixing issues in their software/device/ system. They kept raising their voice and kept telling me not to raise mine. It was an unfortunate experience for me. Nobody should suffer from these guys. Lying, commissioned Shysters. My partner just needed a new phone. No changes in service, no add-ons, just a simple straight forward transaction. After numerous attempts to upsell service dispite her clearly stating she didn't want anything but the phone, the salesperson David Walker said their policy would not let her leave the store with he new phone without adding insurance. She disputed that and pointed to a poster that said insurance could be added up to 30 days after, he insisted she had to add it in order to complete the transaction. When she objected again, he told her "you have to call them to waive the activation fee anyway, just cancel it when you call". Not wanting any more conflict, she agreed to add it, which I'm sure was all about him getting a bonus for upselling an add-on. Having worked in commissioned sales a good part of my life, I know a commission play when I see one and that approach is just sleazy and unprofessional. The more she thought about it, the more it bothered her, and me as well. We've got a brief trial period where she can still return the phone and we're thinking of cancelling all four of our lines and moving to Verizon. Either way, stay away from this guy. read more

Customer service at the store told me that could not return my unopened iPhone when the 1800 told me that the policy is that unopened ones will not have re stocking fee. I explained to them that at the store that I was instructed to do so for quicker processing through the store. I don't appreciate that they probably worry about their inventory and that they are not aware of their own policy even after I came back as instructed by the 1800 customer service. I have been with AT&T for 9 years now and when the Samsung Note 7 got recalled I went back to this store. The nightmare started from September and it went on for months. I have spent over 4 hours 3 days in a row because the guy mess up and did not want to owe up to it. For months I have been calling customer service because they keep charging me for a phone that was supposed to be free. They kept lying to me. until it was too late to fix it. I even called their so called Loyalty Department which was a complete lie because there is no such thing as loyalty from this company. Bottom line they don't care if you move to another carrier as long as they get paid with what ever they need to get out of you. read more

0 STARS!!! Made a YELP just to write this review on how awful their service is! THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! I recently upgraded my phone at the Clackamas town center location and go figure they didn't have the Iphone in stock that I wanted so it was ordered in store by the rep, I get it on Monday the 1st. Since day one when I got this phone I had had nothing but issues. Tuesday when I could start using the phone, once it had started the restore from the backup, I could only use it for about 2 minutes before it would freeze and I had to do a hard restart. Issues continue Wednesday when the phone completely stopped reacting to touch. I took it in to the Clackamas location (horrible customer service there as well) the guy that sold me the phone said there was nothing he could do for me and I should take it upstairs to the mac store, took it there and the lady said I could pay $20 for her to run a diagnostics test but that they couldn't fix it. Thursday the screen went completely black except for a spinning logo in the center. That continued until I could take it to to the apple store Friday. Apple had to clear my phone completely ran the test and said everything checks out so I leave, get home start my restore for the second time, next morning I leave my phone at home to continue. Get home from work its completely black again. Monday around 3pm I go in to the Mall 205 location to just return the damn phone because I've had it for a week and it doesn't freaking work, the guy that greeted me was extremely rude, asked why I came in, and its not like I came in there unorganized, I had the box it came in all the cords and the original receipt, I told him I was to return the Iphone because it doesn't work, he doesn't say anything to me grabs the return shipping label out of the box sticks it on there and shoves it toward me and says "that's how you return it" so I just told him I want to return it in store he proceeded to tell me that he cant take the return he asked me when I bought it and before I could answer he had walked away from me to help the customer walking in through the door!!! Left and took my phone back to apple was in and out within 45 minutes with a brand new phone. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST representation of AT&T!!! I work in sales and I would NEVER treat a customer spending their money with me like this EVER!!! You should get your priorities straight AT&T!!! read more

It took another 8 hours of being on the phone with customer support and make another trip to the store to get the issue fixed. He failed to replace my phone, which had been insured for 2 years, just because it had a broken screen, and instead sold me a new ($850) phone and made it seem like he was 'hooking me up' stay away from Andrew Campbell. He'll just lie to you to make a sale. Also, very inappropriate comments about my tattoos, body and other sexually insulting comments. When I came back, 10 days later, he stopped me at the door, to make sure I didn't talk to anyone else. I informed him that my phone had been insured, but he laughed and shrugged it off. When I came back a week later, I was told that that would've been my chance to fix his mistake within the 14 day return period. I will be back, but only to deal with a manager and correct his mistake. I'd also like to inquire about his very direct requests of me to write a good review about his services. Don't guilt trip me into writing a good review, especially after treating me like a piece of meat. I do not like being asked all sorts of personal questions about my body, personal life, and then get text messages from him outside of work. Very disappointed with this unprofessional behavior. From AT&T employees. Gross!!! I only hope they correct this before it goes any further. Women, bring your boyfriend or husband in with you, so this doesn't happen to you.
