It would have been beneficial for us to do be able to work in other areas, but I guess I should have picked a better school. If you're an employee here (one of our students is a med tech here), you're free to use the swimming pool, and meals are discounted. I think for a normal person, it's around $9. It is made to order, so it looks pretty fresh. Next to it is the bird sanctuary, and a block or two away is there woodwork shop, although I personally never saw it. They have residential and assisted living surround the cafeteria, and across from the Woods side is the memory care unit, which we did not enter. It has a peaceful vibe to it and is nice to walk around. Definitely get a tour of the place with someone, so you can see everything.

The employee that answered my call, is the same person that got such wonderful praise on yelp. So, of course I thought this should go smoothly. Instead she offered to send (message, images) via email. Still not showing, nor anything in my message center. I'm sure I did something wrong, so I'll make another call to see if she's not too busy to give me a tour. Then I'll be more willing to offer an opinion about this business.

My dad isn't the easiest to get along with or care for so I know that La Verne Manor has their hands full. The staff has always been kind, patient, and genuinely caring with him. You can tell they treat the residents like people, not just another job. Alan is a great caregiver. He's always on shift when we visit and he's the best. Super friendly, efficient, and genuinely caring. Every time we visit, everyone is always friendly and takes the time to say hello. The facility is always clean, doesn't have that overwhelming "nursing home" feel or stinky smell, and my dad actually enjoys the food and he's super picky, which honestly surprised us. It's a huge relief knowing he's comfortable and being looked after because we're so busy with our own lives. Mike, the manager, has also been great to work with. Any time we've had a question, he's been easy to reach, always willing to help and I trust him with the decisions he makes for my dad. Sorry we bug you so much! It's never easy trusting someone else to care for a parent, but the team at La Verne Manor has made that decision a lot easier. She loudly used profanity What was most concerning is that the administrator was present and did nothing to correct or address the behavior. In a healthcare setting, especially one caring for vulnerable memory care residents, professionalism, respect, and accountability are essential. Unfortunately, none of that was demonstrated. This experience raised serious concerns about staff culture, leadership, and how issues are handled internally. Based on what I witnessed, I would not recommend this facility and will not be returning.

The grounds are well kept and everyone from the landscapers, the cleaners, to the medical personnel walking to and from are always so pleasant. They, as well as other residents, always seem to take a moment and give a friendly hello. From what I hear, the services provided by the Gardens fit the desires of our friends who reside here. Another wonderful plus is that the Gardens is a pet friendly community! It is certainly one of the friendliest, loveliest, all-inclusive retirement communities I have visited and they truly deserve their top ratings.

My mom will be returning home tomorrow after surgery to a full array of help from familiar faces. Ten days in a skilled nursing/rehab hospital is a stark reminder of how much we need places like Oakmont to care for our elderly. I am so thankful that she sold her house and moved to assisted living before we were up against the wall with a health crisis. I know she will be well cared for at Oakmont.

Christina also consistently went above and beyond, including helping us secure an adjustable hospital bed for my grandpa and visiting him several times in his final days to express her genuine sadness. They passed away afterwards at Cedar hospital because his doctor said he wasn't going to care he needed at this place to be beware beware I even followed discrepancy against the California medical Association, so please take your love runs away from here and never had a real doctor on premises. They had a call one in and all they did set the front desk and never gave his messes on time and let him just lay there in his filth. I'm ashamed of myself. That's why I'm so happy he got to go to Cedar Sinai. They gave him white glove treatment the end where he passed away.
