You can tell they treat the residents like people, not just another job. Alan is a great caregiver. He's always on shift when we visit and he's the best. Super friendly, efficient, and genuinely caring. Every time we visit, everyone is always friendly and takes the time to say hello. The facility is always clean, doesn't have that overwhelming "nursing home" feel or stinky smell, and my dad actually enjoys the food and he's super picky, which honestly surprised us. It's a huge relief knowing he's comfortable and being looked after because we're so busy with our own lives. Mike, the manager, has also been great to work with. Any time we've had a question, he's been easy to reach, always willing to help and I trust him with the decisions he makes for my dad. Sorry we bug you so much! Beacon became my second home. I was there every day and often stayed until 1 a.m., especially when my mom was not feeling well. I was very attentive and meticulous about her care, always closely monitoring the quality of support she received. Beacon made sure they delivered consistent and compassionate care throughout her stay. My mom was transferred to Beacon in 2021 and spent the final chapter of her life at Beacon Healthcare Center. My mom passed away on January 4, 2025. Her assigned nurses at Beacon never failed to check on how she was doing. We had hoped she would recover, but God had other plans. Although, saying goodbye was one of the hardest experiences our family has ever faced, I am deeply grateful for the care and compassion she received. Like any healthcare facility, there were a few hiccups along the way. We had some concerns during her stay, but I appreciate that the staff listened to us and worked with our family to address them. Being able to communicate openly and come to a resolution meant a great deal during such a difficult time. The nurses, caregivers, and staff treated my mom with kindness, dignity, and respect. They made every effort to keep her comfortable and showed genuine compassion not only to her but also to our family. Their patience, comforting words, and support meant more than they probably realize. No place can take away the pain of losing someone you love, but knowing my mom was surrounded by caring people brought us peace during her final days. Like many facilities, there appears to be a serious lack of urgency, compassion, and communication. My dad went approximately 15 hours without being provided water. On another occasion, he was left sitting in soiled clothing for over an hour and was expected to eat his meal before anyone assisted him. While visiting, I also witnessed another patient fall. The patient remained on the floor for approximately 20 minutes while several staff members stood around without providing immediate assistance. It was upsetting to witness. Communication among the staff has also been extremely poor. It often seems that no one knows what is happening or who is responsible for patient care, making it difficult for families to get answers or feel confident that their loved ones are receiving proper attention. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this facility to anyone looking for rehabilitation care for a loved one.

His clothes would also be soiled, and staff often would not change him until a family member specifically told them to. Almost every time I visited, the hallway floor where his room was located smelled strongly like feces as soon as I got off the elevator. I hoped it was not coming from him, but as I got closer to his room, the smell would get worse and it often was him left unchanged. No patient should be left like that for hours. Many patients were left in bed all day everyday with little to no activity or engagement. Our experience was heartbreaking and I would not recommend this facility based on how my loved one was cared for.

If you do have family there, and have issues, please call the LA County Ombudsman's office at (800) 334-9473. You can also contact the Medical Board of California www.mbc.ca.gov to file a complaint. Physical therapy they have a great room set up with stair lifts and exercise bike and a pole walkway to rehabilitate patients. Meals are also great there I have no complaints there even though my dad is sensitive and eating a few items as he is a cancer patient. My dad was very impressed with the nurses there Dawn to be one of them. Grace who I worked with as I had to file an appeals process with levanta and United healthcare she helped me get this process through as United healthcare was trying to kick out my dad. Unfortunately I filed civil rights against United healthcare and levanta. But that's what it took in order for me to get my dad to stay there longer.. Grace was quite surprised on what I did. They have a very polite staff there. And people that like working with you and care about your loved ones. They also have great activities as far as puzzles a theater room to watch movies popcorn... And a well-provided lounge for guests with water and coffee... I would definitely like to have my dad return here if he could...... He was there back in 2022. I see a lot of work as they're trying to make improvements. For a visitors, employees, and residence of this facility. I had a question where my friend was located at. They were very quick to look in the computer and guide you which way to walk closer to the room. Smiles on each of the workers. For they truly care of what type of care they give to each resident that lives there. They work with post acute patients that come out of the hospital. Claremont Heights provides physical therapy so the residence can be more independent so they can go home quicker. The beautiful activity room was wonderful to see as this is a heart of each residence, getting better and stronger and feeling loved. They provide the medication each residents needs. The check-in kiosks is so easy to understand and use. Once you walk in the lobby, the staff is very happy that you were there very kind and always has a smile on their face. The only downfall I noticed is the facility. Some rooms have cracked in the ceiling and in the wall. There needs to be a custodian team to keep the rooms swept and cleaned to whether you'll find trash on the ground. To all the nurses that work there the CNA's that work there the kitchen crew that works there. I am so thankful that every resident has a smile on their face, knowing they are safe and well loved. There are vending machines and some courtyards so the residence can buy their favorite snacks. The roses and the colors of the gardening are just so beautiful. It feels like you were at home. When you walk into the lobby, there is music being played. And there is a TV screen and it shows the most amazing colors of every season like a picture window.

I live in hacienda heights, and I had to go to West Covina to go pick up my mother. I could not be there instantly I told the male nurse over the phone. You need to train your staff to speak in a more sensitive way. Especially after a bad news had given to the family. "I am so sorry your dad has passed, however; we do have policy the body has to be removed in x amount of the hours. Please drive safely to get here asap when you can." This was the way, your staff should have spoken to me, 2 years ago. I did not complaint before because I was in total shock! Do Not take advantage of people's grief and depression again! This review is for one particular situation that took WAY too long to resolve. My aunt is living in…read morememory care and was sharing rooms with her sister, my mother, until my mother passed away. My got a new roommate and they did not get along. A single room became available and our family decided to move our aunt. Clearwater was told on a Friday at noon we would move our aunt on Tuesday. When we arrived Tuesday morning to move our aunt, there were no rooms keys for her room. Staff said they would work on getting keys made. Despite checking several times throughout the day for keys, no keys were available. This meant my aunt had to find leave her room unlocked when leaving her room and go find staff to lock her room. I contacted Clearwater the next day, Wednesday, and still no keys had been made. One excuse is that the person who makes/has access to keys was on vacation. (No one person should be in control of all room keys in a senior assisted living and memory care facility.) I went out of town for a couple of days. When I went by Saturday morning, 4 days after my aunt moved to her new room, no keys had been made. When I spoke with staff, I reiterated it was unacceptable. I also told them I would be writing a review and contacting their corporate office. Within an hour, keys were made and the problem was rectified. Clearwater was given four days notice my aunt was moving to a room that had been unoccupied for several days or more. Even after moving, it took four days and my stating I was going to contact their corporate offices to get keys made for her room. Unacceptable.
