I discovered this place via Groupon and decided to try out a float tank experience. Ava was the attendant that welcomed me in. She was warm, inviting, and offered for me to use the bathroom before getting started. She walked me through the whole floatation experience process and allowed for any questions. The room has a washcloth, two towels- a body and a hair towel, ear plugs, and ointment for any potential skin tears or cuts. The shower has instructions in there on a metal plate attached to wall, but Ava as well explained the pre-and post float shower expectations. Then she offered me a speaker that could connect to my phone via Bluetooth, which I really appreciated, and then she left me to get started. After inserting the earplugs, showering/exfoliating and shampooing my hair, I got into the tub. There is a neck-support float provided as well, which I decided to use, and as well there is a provided water bottle to spray in case salt gets in your eyes. There are "constellation lights" on the ceiling above the tub and also LED lights that are in the background. There are different buttons in the tub that you can press to adjust either/or and as well a button for controlling the room light. The water temperature was nice and the tub spacious. Then you float until being signaled that your time is up via flickering lights. I followed the post-float shower instructions and applied the "soothing lotion" before finishing up. Bought a Groupon here because I love a good float tank sesh but haven't been able to find too many places out here that do them. I used to have a regular spot in Austin. Anyways I hate that it's so far away from me, I think location definitely effects their business and customer inflow. But the new owner is so sweet. She was very helpful when I arrived, and asked me if I had done this before, and explained to me how their tank sessions work. Overall the experience was good, but I'll be honest it wasn't as relaxing for me as the others I've been too, because the room is too bright for me. So they do have options for lighting, but it's either pitch dark or they have some colored lights and a starry night feeling but they're so bright I could still "see" them when closing my eyes. Additionally, they do have the option for music but you attach your own phone to play it. I personally didn't like all these features, others may.....in the past my float sessions the lights were dimmer and they played light music right in the pod with you and had ambient lights and they helped wake you from your session gradually. It all just felt more relaxing. That said, if you're looking to float this serves that purpose, but I personally like the closed in pods better I realize versus this which is more of a bathtub version. Had a wonderful time in the Floatation room on a Mommy & Me day! The rooms were really clean and the staff were really helpful! Shannon is very, very sweet, took care of us and explained everything to us especially because it was our first time floating. I was expecting a pod like I've seen online, but it was more like a giant bathtub for those that don't like enclosed spaces. The rooms are similar, but the first room had twinkling lights above the the tub and the second has LED slow changing lights at the foot of the bath that vary (Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, etc.). Both rooms come with the option to turn off the music, light effects and room lights from inside the tub with a little knob. There is also a neck pillow you can use as well and ear plugs are provided. The water has sea salt if I remember correctly. I'm gonna be honest and say sometimes the water accidentally got in my mouth (apparently I breath through my mouth for whatever reason as an functioning adult now lol) and it definitely did not "taste" like salt water. It tasted like something else was added in it. My mom had the same experience too so it wasn't just me. So with that being said, I don't recommend drinking it (lol) and beware. The sea salt or whatever WILL get in your ears and leave a residue which makes them crusty. There was a sign that said to clean your ears and a whole bunch of Q-Tips in the room that I blatantly ignored on my own accord and walked around the rest of the day with crusty, ashy ears unbeknownst to me lol due to my laziness and hardheadness. User error on my part. Lesson: Do what the sign says folks! All in all, it was a pleasurable experience. The water was body temperature and felt splendid! My room accidentally didn't have a towel and Shannon made sure to rectify the situation for me, even though she didn't have to! Like I said she was too kind. I purchased a $35 dollar Living Social coupon for a 1 hour, $75 session. I had no idea what to expect, so I was really excited about my experience. The guy at the reception's desk was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He escorted me to my private room and explained the process - you shower for 5 min before floating for an hour, then follow-up with another shower all within your private room. After I showered I entered the very large tub. The water is body temperature, not too hot or too cold. At 1st it feels really weird to just lay back & float, but I soon got used to the idea. I turned the lights off when I 1st started floating but immediately turned them back on because I freaked out in this small space in pitch darkness, but about a min later I felt more comfortable & turned the lights back off. I could never relax my neck so I used the floating neck pillow to help keep me steady. After that, I was in a complete state of relaxation. Overall the experience was unique & relaxing but I still prefer a massage to relieve tension in my muscles. Plus you really have to be mentally ready for this type of service - may not be for everybody. read more

Bought a groupon and scheduled via text for a hot stone massage. Arrived and there was a miscommunication and I was booked for a float. Ok aggravating but mistakes happen. I rescheduled the massage for 2 days later. An hour before my appointment my dog got sick and I needed to reschedule. I was informed It would be $25 to move it to the next week. Umm..I should have charged them $25 as well then!? Massage therapist was great just needs some better customer service when those mistakes are made. read more

BEWARE OF UNSCRUPLOUS NEW OWNERS! I have been going here for years but I have been for the last time. I always left a credit card on file and they have always charged $70 for a sixty minute massage. Since the new owners took over they raised the rate they are charging to my card to $135.00 and failed to tell me they had changed their prices. Oh dear lord I'm in heaven!!! I have NEVER been more relaxed in my entire life! My wonderful husband surprised me with a visit here for a massage and a float! I floated in water that was programmed to my perfect temperature (97 degrees) and had 800lbs of salt/magical powers mixed into it! It was a total weightless and freeing experience. My massage was the best one I've ever had! This girl must have sold her soul to be able to work her fingers the way she did! I cannot tell you how excited I was to find out that there was a place ten minutes from my house where I could float in sensory deprivation, epsom salt deliciousness! I've only done a one hour float but I absolutely loved it. I recently purchased a 3 hour package that includes a one hour float, scalp treatment, massage, and foot ritual. I can't wait! The owner and his son are very nice. The float happens in a giant bathtub (big enough so your hands and feet do not touch the walls if you don't want them to). Once you are settled in the water, there is a button on the wall that turns the lights out. It's pitch black...you cannot see anything. There is a lot of epsom salt in the water so you are very buoyant. After a while of complete darkness and floating in body temp water, you feel like you're floating in space. It is so relaxing both physically and mentally. I wish I could float once a week. I highly recommend this place!! read more

This place is a true getaway. I've been here multiple times to float and it is a great experience. I have been to other float spas in different cities and this is the best one I have been to. The experience itself is something that can't really be put into words. You have to come and see what a float is for yourself. I have also gotten a massage here and it was heaven on earth. The setting of the room was very relaxing with soothing music playing. The owner really cares that his clients have an exceptional experience. I received this for my man and I from my sister for Christmas. She got a great first time rate too. They do offer military and first responder discounts. We are a military family!! I loved that when I read through their website. I was interested in trying this floatation for a long time. The check in was fast. I would have loved more tip for a first timer. So, I'll put my own tips here for newbies. In case it helps you too. I did do my own exploring once left alone with the tub. I played a little. Floated. Rested. Burned my eyes. Rinsed off midway to get real and truly relax. I had fun. I got bored. Got out. Got back in. The water was cool. Not like a hot tub. The towels and furniture did smell. I recommend white towels so bleach and tide can be used. I recommend a plastic cover on brand new furniture to keep away funk. I love the shower. It was huge. And the room is lovely with the floor type abs the mood lights and start ceiling. Wow. Do a few things. Turn all the lights and sounds off. With head in and out of water. Use the ear plugs to help it be peaceful or to keep water from inside your ears out. Do t get the salt water in your mouth it's gross. If so. Get out and rinse off if the bottle sprayer isn't enough. Once you are calm and stable and resting. Stretch your arms way out of the water. Stay floating. Stretch any painful body parts. Stretch your neck up and down. Breathe. And move slowly to being body parts out of the water while floating. This is so cool!! It's a bit pricey I think. But you won't go often. The lady working said it's like a three day detox. What!!! Cool!! So make sure you drink lots of water after. Colors are great with teal being primary. I hope this helps you have a great experience. I think everyone should try this at least once in their lifetime. By the way their unit is tucked around the corner in that area. Be sure to rinse off good afterwards to avoid skin and salt affect. Last. My partner and I both had a long hair on us during the session we both have man haircuts lol. I asked if they empty the water. They don't empty it but they run a cleaning system after every person. ** Lastly. We booked together but it meant for two different and separate rooms. And my man was like "I felt lonely" lol. At Peace truly is just that! The facility is spotlessly clean and very serene. Immediately upon walking in the door one does feel like taking a deep, calming breath. All guests are treated royally whether or not you are using a Groupon. This was probably in the top 2% of best massages of my life!! I've only tried the flotation spa service, not the massage. I love floating! Earlier reviews have already given a great description, suggest you read those. A single float can be a little pricey but there are frequent deals and Groupon offers and you can inquire about frequent floater packages. I recommend googling flotation tanks, isolation tank, sensory deprivation tanks. At Peace offers a spa float, not the smaller tanks. You can float for mere deep relaxation or you can float for mental, emotional and physical healing. I started with a Groupon deal. Like it so I did a five float package. I had a nightly "nite cap" habit for years. I took a out of town trip between my fourth float and fifth float. While I was out of town, I realized I had gone ten days without even thinking of a having a drink. !!! It's been two years, I have not resumed that habit, not even struggled. It wasn't any kind of goal of mine. It just happened. I read The Book of Floating : Exploring the Private Sea, by Michael Hutchison, and really was drawn to the neuroscience supporting the benefits of sensory deprivation and studied up on the benefits of magnesium (from the salt water you float in), one of the minerals most people are deficient in. Some of the book is a bit "new age", but there is also so hard science cited. You can google for more of the hard science. Brain entrainment is something to check into.. BE is a less potent, but similar therapy to flotation. They both help the brain (Mind) achieve a more balanced coordination between the left and right hemispheres of the brain, and promote more healthy brain wave lengths such as Theta, the calm state of mind immediately prior to falling asleep. With this knowledge, I deduce that floating calmed and removed an long term underlying anxiety I had that made me crave a nightly "nite cap". Anxiety is the left and right hemispheres of the brain not functioning together in balance. The emotional side of the brain dominates the logical side. It's a little pricey for mere relaxation..as wonderful as that is on its own. But if you'd like to explore the healing aspects of floating, then think of the cost as a "investment" in your health. Well worth it. I hate traffic. After one of my floats, I hit major traffic.. I didn't have any of those negative emotions. I stayed calm, thought for a moment, and made a great choice on an alternate route home. I always finish a float with a calm, slightly inspiring joy. When I finally made it home that evening, I was still in that same state of mind. I'd also recommend trying three floats within a week or ten days... I believe this helped me to learn how to more quickly relax once the float begins, to get into the zone so to speak, where you really get the full benefits. read more

I have been a massage therapist for many years and I don't hesitate at all to say that he is very intuitive and is worth his weight in gold. A good MT is hard to find... I only wish I lived closer so that I could become a regular here. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE! To be honest, when I first saw Cassi (my massage therapist), she's so small and petite, I thought that she wouldn't be able to work out all the knots and pains in my back. BOY WAS I WRONG! That woman is a magician! I felt better after my session with her than I have in a long time. She is so knowledgable and a true gem to chit-chat with while getting my massage. I've had massages from everywhere from the chain stores (Massage Envy, etc) and as high-dollar as the spa at Caesar's Palace and I will say that this one was as good if not better than the one in Vegas! I went to this spa yesterday 12-20-16. It was a GREAT experience. The massage from ASHLEY was wonderful! I have never floated before so yesterday was my first time and it was an amazing experience. It's like floating in your bed or floating in a nice bath. Very professional staff. They provide robes, slippers, soap, shampoo, conditioner, Ear Plugs for your float. The woman who greeted us was pleasant, and the place was clean & inviting. The experience however, wasn't really what I was expecting. (I did a one hour float.) There was only one choice for sound - random nature sounds, which included birds - which means I had to turn it off! There was no volume control either. Just on/ off. Birds or silence. (Same with the lights; on/ off - no dimmer switch.) I told the woman that I would have enjoyed it more if I could have brought my own music, and she said I could have - that she just hooks the speakers up to an ipod. I really wish I had known that! It was okay, but I doubt I'll go again. It got really dark, which I enjoyed. I work nights & rarely get to relax in pure darkness, so it WAS peaceful - but I got a little bored. I don't feel like it did anything for my mind or body. That's just my experience though, and it's obviously subjective. If you are interested in this, I think you should try it. But maybe wait for a Groupon or discount of some sort. When I signed my receipt, there was a place for a tip which I wasn't expecting. She didn't really do much, but I tipped anyway because I wasn't sure what the proper etiquette was. And I'm still not. My wife and I were visiting Dallas recently and I had to bring her to At Peace Float Spa, having had the best float experience when I was in town a year ago. As I had experienced before, the owners were pleasant, very customer service-oriented, and gave us another great experience. My wife was especially appreciative that she was able to float in a float room vs. a pod. She tends to be a little claustrophobic and it helped to have the larger area in which to float as well as having a comfortable changing room.
