A day after taking the car home, with less than 50 miles driven, the engine light came on and the car started stalling out when idle. A visit to Mall of GA MINI revealed about $4000 (95% of the actual cost of the car purchase price!) of repairs that are immediately needed. Now, not getting a mechanic to look at the car before I purchased it is on me. But I can't believe that the owners had no idea these issues were present on the car when I purchased it. Beyond having to fork out double what I paid for the car for repairs, I'm just bummed out that this nice couple were not honest about the condition of the car when I purchased it. You are always suspect of used car salespeople, and these two unfortunately reinforced those suspicions.

So another car caught our eye this time and test drove it. Didn't see any major issues and Paul showed us the car fax too. It drove very well and shifted through each gear. Low miles for a 11 yo car.
