I have been lucky enough to have been able to have traveled the world a few times, have worked in the food industry, and, thankfully, know how to cook.
I know what food is and is not supposed to be.
This place has it all backwards.
This restaurant, if you can even call it that's food was a complete and utter disappointment.
I don't normally leave yelp reviews. Sorry. I am also normally not quite this mad.
The service was just okay. What on Earth happened to the divine Indian food restaurant that was here before? It's like night and day.
There was no alcohol, to speak of, at all.
When you advertise "fresh apple juice" on the menu, I expect fresh squeezed. Not Mott's from a bottle, with ice. For heaven's sake. You don't serve ice with apple juice. You serve it already cold. Even Denny's knows that.
I would've take odwalla, Evolution Fresh, ANYTHING so that what they are selling matches what I am getting. The damned things was $6!
The "bread" that they served us seemed to be just warmed up store bought bread. It was too perfect to have been made fresh, from the restaurant.
The food was absolutely flavorless.
The lamb in the tajine was absolutely rubbery and chewy.
The seafood tajine was quite a bit worse.
**YOU DON'T SERVE MUSSELS THAT ARE PARTIALLY CLOSED! IT'S A MAJOR HEALTH HAZARD!**
You also can't get the things open!
They have a flaky, pastry dough thing, with seafood inside. This wasn't really crab. IT WAS IMITATION!
The falafel didn't taste anywhere near fresh and the sauce that they served it with was totally pasty.
The food also came out WAY, WAY too fast. Pre-prepared, to be cheap?
Yes!
It's a sad, sad thing when the Perrier that I ordered was the best thing on the table.
The flat water that they served was Zephyrhills. Are you kidding me? Where's the Evian? Where's the Aqua Panna?
***HERE IS WHAT THEY NEED TO DO!**
#1 - Get yourselves a seat at Spice Road Table in Epcot. Learn what real (at least amazing tasting) Moroccan food is supposed to be. Pay attention to the world class service. Replicate what it is that they do.
#2 - Take yourselves into The Tangerine Café, right there. It's exhibition cooking. WATCH AND LEARN!
#3 - For heaven's sake, order yourselves up a number of cookbooks from the classic masters - Le Cordon Bleu, AND LEARN WHAT CLASSIC, FRENCH CUISINE IS ALL ABOUT!
#4 - SERVE EVERYTHING FRESH! NO FROZEN, PRE-MADE, STORE BOUGHT, ETC....
#5 - Retool your menu and get some alcohol on there. I don't care if it's Charles Shaw and canned, craft cocktails. At least it's something decent. Heck... 3 Daughters makes some amazing brews.
Restaurant owners... This cheap route isn't serving you at all. Watch some Gordon Ramsey. Please get a clue.
I don't want any money back. I would even pay for another meal, if it's any good.
But, this... This wasn't happening.
I went home, popped some Trader Joe's Indian food (yes, I know, it isn't Moroccan, but, the flavor profiles are similar) in the microwave and air fryer, and had a FAR, FAR better meal, in 5 minutes, for like $7, and was pissed that the restaurant couldn't feed me properly. read more
