My family has been getting food from Athenian Grill for years. In the past we always enjoyed the food. But the past 2 times I have ordered my husband and I have been very disappointed. The chicken has been very dry and the fries over cooked. My visit tonight I was given someone else's order but by the time I got back home from picking up my order did not feel like driving all the way back to the restaurant to get corrected. After 2 times in a row of being disappointed we will not be back. I do not what has happened to the quality of food. This does make me sad because we have been loyal customers for years. read more

Picked up dinner following school orientation. Athenian Grill always hits the spot and is tasty with ample portions. I ordered the chicken souvlaki with Greek fries, my wife ordered a cheeseburger in pita, my son got wing platter, and both my daughters ordered cheeseburgers with reg. fries. Picked up the food less than 10 minutes after ordering on the way. I paid the bill and they offered me a drink while I waited. 4 minutes later all 5 dinners were done, bagged up and ready to be taken home. Great prompt and courteous service. To start off, we got seated and were attended to right away. We had a little time to look over the menu and I decided to get the Chicken Gyro Pita while my friend got the Lamb. I must say it was so great especially with the tzatziki. I gulped down the fries like they were nothing but my friend hadn't touched many so I ate theirs too. Years after my first visit this is still one of my favorites in the area. Actually one of my favorite Mediterranean places I have found. I travel all over the southeast and this food is really good. The salad was delicious BUT oh dear. I've never had a gyro; if this is what they usually taste like, I hope never to eat another. The tzatziki sauce could have been a little more spicy, but there was a lot of it. The flour tortilla was very large and chewy. They tell me the desserts are terrific. Wow! The only thing I have bad to say is why didn't I find this place sooner. I was very impressed with the fresh quality of the food here. The meats were grilled to perfection! With the most amazing taste and texture! The hummus had the best consistency and perfect spice. Food was made to order fresh. The homemade salad dressing was very tasty, so much so that they would bottle it and sell it. The service was on point. We will definitely be back here a lot. Like maybe once a week. Typical Greek restaurant, which is a good thing because when it comes to Greek joints, "typical" means lotsa good food for the money, friendly, attentive service and pride of ownership. It doesn't have the most exciting atmosphere (also typical) or located in the most appealing area (a storefront) but let's face it, who really cares? Not the faithful regulars that love this place. The menu includes the usual array of gyros, souvlaki, burgers, salads and desserts. I went with the Chicken Gyro with hand-cut Greek fries. The pita bread was perfectly browned and loaded with an ample supply of tender chicken, tomatoes and Tsuziki sauce. The Greek fries were a little too soggy for me, while the normal fries were quite good. My wife tried the Chicken Souvlaki platter. It came loaded with the same delicious tender chicken, Greek salad and a mountain of fried okra, all of which was pretty good. Everything else was okay too, especially their sanitation grade of 100! Definitely worth a try but just short of Gotta Try. Personally though, we'll be back. read more

AMAZING. AAHHH-MAY-ZING! I cannot describe how impressed I was with this place. Excellent food, low prices, huge portions, and quick service. This place is going to become a regular hangout for me. We ended up here around 7pm on Saturday night and it was surprisingly quiet, only a few tables. Our waiter Tyler was great, but the entire staff helped each other and you could tell service was the priority. I got the gyro platter (which only cost $8.55) with fried okra and tzatziki for an appetizer. I'm super picky about tzatziki and this was hands down the best I've had.
