    Mixed grill platter

Halal's is located near Idylwild Road in a newer strip mall off Independence Blvd. They have a good variety on their menu with salads pita wraps, gyros and rice and protein bowls. I decided to get the beef and lamb combo rice bowl with special white sauce that was tasty. I was in a bit of a hurry to return to the office so I ate most of my meal at the restaurant and decided enough home for another meal. Service was friendly and fast. I recommend Halal Street Food to anyone that likes Mediterranean Food.

Now THIS is some good halal food! New to the city and was trying to think of the next best place to try and boy am I glad I found this place. The environment was clean and the gentleman who helped me order was respectful to give me a moment to order knowing I'm a new customer. I got the chicken platter which was fresh off the grill and came with all the toppings. Everything tasted fresh and well seasoned. I gotta ask for extra white sauce next time cause I was HOOKED! I just learned they have a location in Camp North End which is closer to me so I have to see if it's just as good the first time around!

Stopped in for the first time today for dinner. The BBQ plate came with a skewer of beef (well done-thank you!) and a skewer of chicken. It comes on a bed of rice. The only thing I didn't like is that the cold salad was put on top of the hot food. The meat was dry but had good flavor. It was $18 The chicken gyro was very good. We would definitely return for this flavorful food! By the way the glass in front of the food was very clean so shot out to the staff!

Delicious! It's a lot of sauce so be sure to tell them to go easy on the sauce if you are not a saucy person (I love sauce). We got the chicken gyro and the lamb donner. Super fresh ingredients. We will come again. You can see them grilling the meat which is nice and the lamb being cooked. The service was good the food did not take long to be made. The place is not very large so large groups may be difficult but food size in general.

The flavor is quite good but it is super messy. Be ready! I wish there were more contents to bread ratio at play. The service is straightforward and quick. Clean appearing.

I love halal street food. They have some really great food options. I typically get a sweet tea, chicken over rice and their fries. It's always good. I love that their food is consistent in taste and portions. They have great customer service and prepare it quickly. It's nicely decorated and looks really clean.

Last minute decision to come here and SO glad I did. Halfway through my meal I ordered 2 more to go to bring with me back to SC. I got the king kebabs to share with my family and so I can try all of the different meats. * I am here house hunting and this may influence my decision as to where I live HAHA I thought the sauce was too much, but there's a LOT of food and when you dig down into the rice it is actually the perfect amount. Get the spicy sauce on the side! So good. The rice is sooo good and the veggies that came on the side were crisp and cold and delicious. The staff were so friendly and the environment was clean! Packaging for to go was very thoughtfully done.

This has potential. I noticed several good reviews which prompted my visit. Popped in for lunch and ordered the Lamb-Chicken Platter spicy with salad side, Chicken Platter w/ Greek salad side, an order of fries and lemonade. Platters come with rice which has a distinct aromatic flavor. Can't decide if I like it. My platters had plenty of rice but the meats were very small portion in comparison. The issue is they chopped the meat to shreds trying stretch the portion and I'm talking paper shredded. There is an up charge of about $3 for Greek salad side. Definitely not getting my money worth but a healthier fast food option. My experience was just ok. HINT: The rice makes it look like a large portion of food.

    Lamb over cooked. No flavor.

20 dollar plate. Over cooked lamb. Raw fries. ‍ crazy. Waited 20 min for this. Never again

The food was delicious and Rabeyah gave excellent customer service. I had a chicken shawarma and I am so glad none of the sauces are mayonnaise based. Rabeyah told me they were yogurt based. Also my lunch date had a Vegan Shawarma and he's had it before. He was confused bc Rabeyah said it has tofu in it but before he was told it was made with plantains. We also had an appetizer of falafel but didn't care for them. They were dry and overcooked. So we would like clarity on that and we had a hard time finding a clean table but other than that I'd return.

Like their beloved food trucks...Halal Street food offers a great selection of Halal food (chicken, lamb, kabobs, schwarma etc.) for a decent price. I say decent bc I think the food truck might be a little cheaper, albeit limited menu. I got a lamb/chicken combo over rice. Simple, delicious and huge quantity. In and out in 6 mins. Decent parking. Overall a great lunch spot or casual dinner for those in the area

Visiting the area from out of state and this place is near by. We love Mediterranean food in California so we were excited to try. Went in about 8pm, 1 customer in front of us, there was 3 of us. We ordered the chicken rice plate and 2 lamb gyros with fries. We absolutely love tzatziki sauce so we got extras. We were so excited because it looked great but honestly it was a disappointment. The rice on the chicken plate definitely has way too much cumin. The person who ate the chicken said the chicken was good. The tzatziki sauce tasted like ranch which was a complete turnoff. I ate the gyro along with another person. I don't like that the meat is precooked and put into heating containers vs cut off the roaster/cooker. They were more like chunks of meat vs slices that were put on a grill for 20 seconds to reheat. We asked for no tomatoes which we were not given but they added lettuce and no onions (like shown in the images at the restaurant) I would have liked the onions and didn't realize till after we were home. The fries were put in a paper bag and were soggy and cold. Drinks we didn't order, they have either canned or bottled drinks. No fountain drinks. We won't return as it wasn't to our taste. I had high hopes but fell below expectations. Most of the food was tossed out to be honest.

Them boys on the Monday day shift know how to serve it up good Lawddddt. This place could be studied

Great food, great people, great service…read more I enjoyed the chicken kebab with yellow rice and lentil soup. Great stuff.

AVOID THIS LOCATION!…read more My family that resides in Clt started coming to this location because of the proximity to their house, but after this past visit on June 20th, none of us will ever be back again after the absolute awful service! And, as anyone knows, you can have amazing food, but if the people and service are terrible that can ruin any dining experience! We were sat in an almost empty restaurant just after 8pm; the waiter came to take our order and was very engaging initially. We were a party of 6, so we were going to order 4 diff apps prior to the mixed grill which is what we always get. We ordered the hummus, falafel (2 orders because only 6 come per order), baba ganoush, and beef sambousa. We were told they were "out" of the baba ganoush & sambousas cuz they would have to make them and it would take like an hr...this sounded odd cuz umm, don't you make all your food to order?? This immediately put both my stepmom (who is Moroccan) and myself off and we were actually going to leave, but we were introducing my brother's GF to this ethnic food style & him + my dad convinced us to stay, so we just added salad and lentil bean soups). We ordered drinks (the GF & I were the only ones that didn't order sodas; she ordered a pot of Karak tea for her + I to share & I ordered a sparkling water). After 10mins no drinks in sight we were like "ummm?" then at just over 15mins they brought us the apps but no drinks?!? The drinks came separately a few mins later...all except the tea. For $3 on the menu I expected a bottled sparkling water, instead I got flat water from the soda fountain. I told the waiter this and he said he'd try again and if it wasn't "sparkling" then what did I want to drink instead...I said just a filtered water w/lemon. We were missing an order of falafel (were told they only had the one order and would have to wait for the 2nd, so we just canceled it; again whyTF did they not have anything on the menu at 8pm on a Sat!?) and they only brought one basket of pita for the hummus; we asked for a 2nd basket. The lentil soup (my stepmom makes better at home) + salads were mid at best. 20mins later they bring the main course, but we still had not gotten the pot of tea we ordered nor did the guy ever come back w/my "sparkling" or plain water...we'd had enough of this horrible service & I went in search of someone (the place again was empty & I could not find our waiter or anyone anywhere). Finally I see this lady who had attitude (I have a sneaking suspicion she pretended not to understand english when convenient) when I asked WTAF was up w/my water & the tea! Again, another 10mins w/neither showing up at the table...we were also still waiting for the 2nd basket of pita, but it was moot as we'd already begun to eat the main dish...my stepmom went to the lady & spoke to her in arabic and was like "where is her water and where is her tea!?" the lady said she was sorry she didn't know we didn't get them (BS btw) that's when my stepmom asked to speak to the mgr. We also wanted to order Knfa for dessert, so my stepmom told the lady we were ordering 3 now since they were taking forever to get anything to us, and if they didn't bring them when we were done eating, we would not be paying for them. THAT part seemed to get through at least! Halfway (almost an hr at this point) through the meal they finally come w/my water and the pot of Karak tea. At this point we hadn't seen the male waiter who took our order initially; he shows up & is acting huffy (the audacity tbh!) & tries telling me he never said he'd bring a 2nd sparkling or reg water & when both me and my stepmom (cuz she was sitting next to me & heard the exchange called him out) he got all defensive & said "well I guess I misunderstood" so then we are like "why an hr for the tea?" "Wellll, that's how long it takes to make!" I called BS & told him if that was the case he should have told us that expectation when we initially ordered! He then goes "Well I had to go to storage to find it cuz we were out!" K, howTF is that OUR problem!? Just tell us that so we know what to expect!? No apology was made and we were not credited for the tea nor the $3 sparkling water which I never received. Also, received the Knfa (shockingly, right after the meal) but it was served w/o the pistachios it was supposed to come with. When asked for them, we were told they were "out"...because of course they were! Absolutely HORRIBLE staff and service here; the food was good tho, but when u have an experience like that it still leaves a bad taste!

The interior is beautiful, but the real star is the food (and our waitress, who we were fortunate enough to get both times--she's fantastic!). Plumb forgot her name twice now The portions are so generous that the hubby and I have started a "share everything" policy just so we can sample more of the menu. The Lamb Chops are sizeable, perfectly seasoned, and actually taste like they would in Greece. The Hummus. It's rustic, flavorful, and took me straight back to the streets of Greece. Pair that with their juicy Greek Meatballs, and you're in possible food coma! They also boast an all-Greek wine list, which is a nice authentic touch. While they have a great patio, it's been a bit too chilly for us lately, but the indoor vibe is just as lovely. Authentic flavor, great service, and a wine list that actually knows its grapes--definitely a 5-star gem in the Queen City!
