I have been going to this restaurant since I was 6 years old. It has always been consistent in both its food and its management. The charbroiled taste on the burgers make it amazing. The gyros, fries, and chili cheese fries are a must try. They have a great deal on Tuesdays in which one can get four burgers, four orders of fries, and four drinks for around $14, which is a steal. My coworkers and I just ordered 2 gyro combos and a gyro sandwich. I listened to my co-worker order the food. When we got it the gyro sandwich had nothing on it! My co-worker who ordered it called and was told that it was our mistake for saying "plain". What was said was 2 combos and just a sandwich with no combo. Instead of correcting the mistake we were told it was our issue! Really! I doubt I will ever come back to this establishment you couldn't say come back for the missing veggies!! The pitas were soft and the fries were flavorful, but soggy. The rest was just a mess. They wouldn't accept their own coupon because it was a delivery - even though it came out of a coupon book for delivery food. They charged an additional $4.50 for a delivery charge (RIDICULOUS). The hummus was gritty and bitter tasting, the meat was dry and charred on both sides, the salas was soggy and limp. I can't give any more than a two... I wanted to give a 1, but my husband convinced me not to. Oh - and it took 45 minutes, instead of the previously stated "around 15-20 minutes" for our order to arrive a whopping 2.5 miles away. I only ever order one thing here: the breakfast burrito with bacon & sausage. It MUST be eaten with their fantastic green salsa. I wasn't a fan of green salsa until I tried theirs. Spicy but so flavorful it is worth it! I've also seen their customer service improve DRAMATICALLY since they hired the women who work behind the counter. When I first started coming here one of the owners would take orders and was maybe one of the crabbiest people alive. He always seemed so exasperated by everything I stopped coming for a while because who wants to be around that type of energy first thing in the morning. This is our first time at the Athenian Grill. The service was friendly. The gyro sandwiches were delicious, and that tzatziki sauce... OMG was that yummy! We will definitely be back. For starters, I hope everyone reading this understands that, it's reallllly difficult to try and find a proper breakfast burrito in the valley. Worry no longer because, it's at the Athenian Grill! Hands down this is THE breakfast burrito. The tortillas are not only perfectly warmed with hash browns, non overcooked eggs and melted cheddar cheese but to say that they put meat in it is would be an understatement. I ordered a burrito that had, ham and sausage and let me tell you, they straight put a ham steak in it that was both thick and juicy. The sausage was as if it was meant for a hot dog because it was just so big. Needless to say that for $6 you can get a delicious burrito that will not hold out on the portions and more importantly, the quality. I am very impressed and I will be back for more! I have been driving past this place for years. I finally stopped in to check it out today and was very impressed with the food. I got a falafel plate since I don't eat meat. There are a few vegetarian options which I liked. The falafel plate was mostly good. It came with Greek salad which tasted very fresh, from the tomatoes to the lettuce and olives. The plate also came with fries, the fries were fried to a perfect crisp and well seasoned. As for the falafel, I think it could use a little work. But I'm kind of picky with my falafel... This one tasted just a tad bit dry. But all in all it was a good experience and I will be coming back for more. Looking forward to trying the breakfast next time around. read more

Warning: This Place Gives You Depression. A burger (worth maybe 4 bucks but cost ten) that must have been frozen first, then cooked by someone who has no love for food, making a gray-black, dead patty hot. Add the world's cheapest thinnest slice of American Cheese and glue-gun it to the top of the bun, so every bite sticks to the roof of your mouth. Add three inches of dry, white lettuce from a probably pre-shredded bag. Add a couple curled up yellowish pickles from probably a ten gallon plastic tub that you got 2 for 1 at Circus of Bargains in 2018. Finally, add a pink fuzzy zero-flavor tomato slice and some back o' the fridge morgue-onion... and finish with Mr. Nameless Mayo ... send it to the about-to-quit, staring/space-traveling woman at the register behind the five feet tall 'pandemic' plastic wall between her and me... this place is a hangnail of death. The location is on Reseda next to the small street Gault I came here because we were recommended to come here. There is a special where they have four burgers, fries, and a drink for a deal it comes out to be about $18. We went in there it was really friendly. The workers were talkative to us. They asked us how we were and very helpful telling us the special and what her recommendation were. Usually people from businesses go here by the way the dress, but no dress code. We ended up getting the special luckily we went on a Wednesday therefore we got the special. You pick up your orders when they are done making it, when we received the food it was worth the amount of money we paid for. The food fills you up for the small amount of payment. The parking lot is big enough don't have to worry about your car. The noise level is perfect you can have a good conversation with your friends. The food is really delicious, I would come again on Wednesday or Tuesday. The food prices are reasonable the range is about $8. If you are looking for a place for a cheap place to eat you should eat here. This place is really relaxing you can hang out with friends and good place to catch up. You can call before and order what you want before so when you arrive you can eat, or pick it up. They are up to date they accept debit cards. The only thing that didn't like is that they charge you for a refill, but if you go often you don't have to pay. The service is great, the place received an A. read more

I've only had the greek salad with chicken from here, but I've had it multiple times and it's the best greek salad I've had in the states. There are many chunks of meat and it's very filling. The sauces and pita they accompany it with are perfect. I'd give it 5 stars if they had a better/bigger location- parking is a tiny lot behind it and it's on a busy street- but if you're in the area and want a filling and tasty meal I think it's worth it. read more

I've been coming to this place since I was in high school, which is about 20 years. I'm not sure if ownership has changed or maybe the staff, but there appears to be a lot of turnover lately with the people working there. The gyros were the best for years. The staff is super friendly. Their not the nicest to first timers as they assume that you would know what comes in the Gyro or what kind of onions they're referring to when they say onions but it seems like they don't mean it. We ordered 2 gyros and a philly cheesesteak to go. It took about a half an hour. Definitely not fast food. We visited at 2:30pm so not a prime time and it still took that long. The beef in the gyro and the beef in the cheesesteak were big pretty tender pieces. The cheesesteak could have used a little more beef. I enjoyed the flavors in the cheesesteak and would definitely think of this place to fill the craving but I didn't enjoy the wait. I didn't like the gyro too much but the gal did say she preferred the regular gyro meat. French fries could a little more seasoning. Orange bang... good :D read more

Review is for delivery. Took about 40 minutes to get from hitting "submit order" on a Double Cheeseburger and Gyro to having a guy stand in front of my door on a Monday night. A major gripe that I had was that the delivery charge was pretty high, making my 2-item order go from a usual $12-13 meal to $21 (with small tip). The cheeseburger was actually pretty good, but was around a medium to medium-well rather than the rare I ordered, but what do you expect from a $6 burger. The gyro was really bland -- even after drenching it in the provided sauce, I wouldn't order it again. I would probably eat here again if I'm in the mood for burgers and I'd probably carry out my order instead. So far average for me nothing special stands out as of yet. read more

Just ordered their gyro wrap and spanakopita. Both DELICIOUS. gyro wrap was a little hard to eat bc if the way it's wrapped but besides that, it's absolutely perfect. Their food overall is pretty solid, if you want something safe, but awesome, go for a cheeseburger. I've had just about everything at one point or another. Burgers, zucchini, and breakfast are my main hits here. The least favorite would be their hot subs, like the cheese stake, I don't know.. maybe it's the bread, there was something I just didn't like, so I stick to what I know when I go here. The staff was the same for the longest time, but maybe the last 6 months or so, I've noticed new people, some haven't been as pleasant as the past ones (but maybe I just go familiar with the people before) but no one has been horrible. Some of the best Gyros in the valley. My family eats here almost every time we are nearby during lunch time. Not a lot of places serve Gyros, besides the one Greek chain (the McDonald's of Greek restaurants) there are a couple other places that have wildly inconsistent food quality. This place has consistently good Gyros which is impressive. Would be better if it was from a spit but I know you need to have a lot of volume to make that work. The fries are good as well, a Gyro Sandwhich and fries combo is a lot of food. They do go heavy on the sauce on their Gyros so I usually ask for light sauce. read more

This place has some key elements of a Greek restaurant, blue and white decor, love of famous Greek (Nia Vardalos seems to be the patron star of this place) and a very diverse menu; they serve Mexican, American and Greek food, officially tapping into much of the market here in the Valley. I tried the gyro and fries and found them to be pretty average overall. The pita bread, gyro meat, both pretty average. I would say nothing really sticks out as being bad or good, hence the average review. The prices are also average for gyros in the valley. The service is nice and quick, the decor is that of a greasy spoon-diner type of place with Nia Vardalos' presence. I would only recommend to try if you are in a pinch. I wouldn't make a special trip to this place as there are far better in the area. read more

Wish I could give half stars, this would be 3.5 stars instead of 3. I like this place. I've been going here a long time and the food and service have been consistently good. They make a real tasty burger and fries, the gyros and salads are also good. However, on my last visit, I had the chicken kabob and it was pretty bland, the chicken had very little flavor. I liked everything else about the kabob plate, though. Despite the last meal, I still really like this place, love the burgers and breakfast burritos, and the baklava is so good, but, yeah, I will pass on the chicken kabob in the future. read more
