I love a good burger. This place was super delicioso. The burger was perfect and the fries were great.

Found this place by accident (thanks to yelpers) on our way back from dropping off donations at a near by Salvation Army. This is a serious hole in the wall/Dive in a not so pretty neighborhood but the char-broiled teriyaki is one of the best. We've tried tried the teriyaki chicken plate and the beef plate and it was very tasty and good portions (I think there are bowls for smaller appetites). I like the grilled jalapenos they have available in the condiments section too (ask for it if they ran out). They also have teriyaki shrimp and burgers which we have not tried. I like this place because they char-broil their meats. Don't expect anything else other than good food. Every item is cooked to order so it can be slow when crowded.

Co workers recommended this place and have since gone twice . They can take awhile to get your food ready since I think it is only two dudes in the kitchen but definitely worth the wait . The food is great. They are very generous with there portions. Atleast with the teriyaki chicken and beef bowl. For nearly $9 for the large, you will have plenty for left overs. The bowl is the bomb hands down.

this is so bomb

I've been coming here since I was like 10! It stills hits the "spot" when I get the beef plate.

The entire staff treated us like family and put us in a high mood. Even had the food been simply okay, I would have liked the restaurant for the friendliness alone but I am pleased to report the food is fantastic! The garlic bread is buttery, well flavored, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. The salad was a great starter with tasty dressing. My husband ordered the shrimp creole which he found to be fresh and flavorful. I had the eggplant rollatini which was delicious, especially the cheesy filling. A wonderful dining experience at very reasonable prices. We cannot wait to go back and take all our friends & family in the future!

($18 - Hangar 1 Mandarin Blossom Vodka, cold-pressed pineapple juice, fresh raspberry purée, lime juice fresh mint topper). I'm not a big drinker and am a fan of drinks that you can't really taste the alcohol and this was great. It was a fun to drink and was refreshing. For our entree my friend had the Fish & Chips. ($27 - Crispy haddock fillet, sea salt fries, tartar sauce, grilled lemon). I tried a piece of her fish and it was thinly battered, soft, and flavorful. I usually try to stay away from fried fish like this just because places use way too much better or the fish gets super oily but they was not the case with their fish & chips. You can tell they use quality ingredients. I had the 4 piece Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice. ($34 - Fresh ahi, dynamite sauce, wasabi tobiko, togarashi, toasted sesame). Oh my goodness was this delicious. This is usually something you'd eat as an appetizer but eating it alone is a meal in itself. Yes, it's pricey BUT it is totally worth it. Saint & Second is an upscale dining experience. Their food delivers to that level as well. I highly recommend if you're looking for a new date night spot or something intimate with friends. You can really taste the freshness of all the ingredients they use.

However, in my two most recent visits, only the atmosphere has remained a highlight -- the service has declined significantly. My most recent visit was two nights ago, on Father's Day, for a celebratory dinner. Our server was curt and unwelcoming throughout the meal. When my glass of wine arrived, the server suggested I taste it first -- which I did -- and it was immediately apparent that the wine had turned. Having ordered the same wine many times before without issue, I was confident this particular bottle was off. When I asked our server if the bartender could open a fresh bottle, she agreed without hesitation. However, moments later, a gentleman I assumed to be the manager approached and informed me that a new bottle would not be opened, as the current one had only been opened the day before and was, in his opinion, fine. His only alternative was to offer the same varietal at a higher price point. I understand that restaurants may have policies regarding open bottles, but in all my years of dining out, I have never encountered an establishment that refused to replace a glass of wine a guest found unacceptable -- especially when the server herself had encouraged me to taste it for that very reason. This experience left a lasting negative impression, and unfortunately I will neither return nor recommend this restaurant going forward.

When I was there they had offerings like fries and wings. The garlic parm fries I tried were tasty and I wanted more. The bar was simple but the bartenders worked pretty fast. We ordered drinks 3 at a time so we wouldn't have to get up again and they were very efficient. I tried their margarita which was decent and not overly sweet. Don't worry I'm not a raging alcoholic, it was more so out of respect for the performer. They discourage walking around during the performances so everyone can see and enjoy no matter w The space itself is nice offering you indoor and outdoor space. The delicate hanging lights and plants are a nice touch, and the colorful lighting toward the stage area was very vibey. They also had hookah available, I'm not sure the cost. There's also a small digital Photo Booth at the entrance. The performances were great and so was the crowd. I'd love to come back another time and try more of the food and hear more live music. While I had some…read moreweird experiences at the other location, such as them just skipping us on the wait list, my experience at this location has been a lot better. Both times we've been seated pretty quickly. At this location I've tried the spicy fried cauliflower and it was sooo good! On a separate occasion I brought my sister who was visiting from out of state. We ordered some sushi, the gyoza and the steak with the fried mashed potatoes and she wouldn't stop talking about how much she loved the food! The only thing I don't love is that they use egg white in the margaritas and if you don't read the ingredients you'll be wondering why your glass smells like egg. Apparently they do this for the foam ‍ Told my sister this and she ordered a strawberry margarita (not on the menu) and still ended up with egg whites in her drink lol so now I make sure to ask at restaurants around the area. The food is great though and so is the service. Both their indoor and outdoor areas are very nice.

Wow. To be honest the service was never good at this location but the food is good but for sure…read moreover priced. But today the service tipped me over and put both me and my boyfriend in a bad mood. First, at check in the lady who sits people does not have voice to yell out people's names, she said my name very quietly that we didn't hear I don't think anyone would, luckily a man standing and watching waiting for his table told the girl that were there pointing at us because she was already putting the menus down thinking we're not there. You usually say the name at least twice or at least loud enough so people could hear. Second, we got sat at disabled table, not sure why when there were other available options. Lastly, I understand it was a bit packed but we waited 15 mins and then a "waiter" shows up, ask "how is it going?" I said hi how are you, he continues to grab our coasters, and goes "just saying hi" excuse me?? Did not ask if we want drinks or anything!! For a place that's advertised as a high end EXPENSIVE restaurant that is not the way to talk to customers because he didn't say anything after so in this awkward silence I go "im just going to have the chocolate cake please" which he responded to in weird manner that's unwelcoming at all "oh okay then just chocolate cake it is " or something along those lines. Takes everything off the table not even offering water and takes our glasses away. He seemed salty for sure. Very rude if you ask me. Got the cake 20 mins later. NEVER checked in on us after. Mind you there are always so many servers there and all they do is talk to each other and not check in or make sure the customers are satisfied. Usually I try to ignore their service but "just saying hi" is flat out disrespectful and unprofessional. So if you're the manager or the hiring team, please hire people who know how to provide a good customer experience and are professional or at least train them. Hire people for the front who aren't rude or have attitude because most of the time they have a nasty attitude like they're doing me a favor by checking me in. Today the lady was fine. I really hope that next time it will be better and based on other negative reviews I'm not the only one who has an issue with the staffs attitudes towards people so maybe it should be fixed otherwise I wouldn't go here if you're expecting a good service or good vibes.

Ambiance: The interior has a relaxed feel with beachy surfer themed decor. It has a clean modern feel with a bunch of tables featuring accent colored chairs. There is music in the background and a TV on the wall featuring surfing videos. Service: You order at the counter, they ring you up and you get the food brought out. You can see the kitchen as it's open. It was my first time and it was a simple and easy experience. Everything came out in a timely fashion. Food: Some of their specialities include the 20+variations of fried empanadas (meats, chicken, pork, veggie, dessert) that come in both savory and sweet types, as well as their speciality plates such as their Korean-style flat iron steak skewers and chicken satay. The sauces they serve with their empanadas are incredible and some of the best I've ever had such as their chimmi-churri, basil-aioli and sweet & sour Thai. I recently did the lunch combo featuring a choice of a 1/2 salad or 1/2 fries, choice of any two empanadas and a canned drink. I chose beef and Kailua pig empanadas; both were great, empanadas didn't break apart and were crispy, everything was seasoned well; the filling of the beef was a bit more than the Kailua pig however. Drinks: They have various drinks such as lemonade, juices, sodas/soft drinks, and some beers on tap. Parking: The lot is large and has ample parking depending on the day and time. Prices: Prices are to the times that we're in...so not too great. Ala carte empanadas are $5+ but as you order more (4, 12) the prices come down a slight bit.

Paris, our server, was an absolute ray of sunshine. We decided to share a variety of dishes, which turned out to be the perfect way to experience the menu. I don't eat meat, but my fellow diners could not stop talking about the Braised Short Rib Rolled Lasagna. The Lemon Gnocchi was light and delicate, the beet salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, and the Crispy Squash Blossoms stuffed with ratatouille were absolutely delicious. The Cold Hamachi Aguachile was probably the most interesting dish of the night. It's almost like a fish snow cone, which sounds odd until you try it. My mom would call it "moreish" because every bite makes you want another. The Jumbo Prawns à la Plancha were also excellent. But the standout for me was the Eggplant Parmesan. It was completely over the top in the best possible way. If you told me to come back and order nothing but the eggplant and a martini, I'd happily call that dinner. What really stood out beyond the food was the pacing. Dishes arrived at just the right rhythm, the cocktails were excellent, and the playlist somehow added to the atmosphere without competing with the conversation. I took photos of everything, which should tell you how beautiful the food was, but the best part was simply having a genuinely fun evening with friends. I was searching for an elegant dinner spot on yelp and this place popped up. After seeing some pics of the food and the ambience, I quickly made the rezzy and my wife and I were on our way. As you come in, it's like you enter another world -- one of elegance and beauty. You can't help but notice perfect ambient lighting and modern vibes throughout the inside dine-in area and as you enter their huge gorgeous backyard patio, you just know that you're in the right place. The seating area there is massive, with very modern finishes and towards the rear of the patio you have the most beautiful water feature piece, that looks like a human-size vase, with water running down the vase and being met by fire at the base. Just one incredible architectural piece that creates that posh, contemporary ambiance. After taking in the breathtaking design of the spot, we finally sat down and ordered food. We tried the tuna tartare, squash blossoms appetizer and my wife got a seabass entree while I got their highly recommended vodka pasta. All of the food was absolutely incredible, from the freshness of tuna tartare, uniquely wonderful flavor profile of the squash blossoms , to the yummy vodka lumaconi pasta and the most mouth-watering seabass that I've ever tried in my life. I honestly never thought a fish could taste so good. The seabass was charred on the outside and just incredibly soft on the inside. As you barely touch the seabass with the fork, a piece of succulent seabass gets separated simply due to the natural gravity of the fork. The taste is perfect. It's like they somehow cooked it with large piece of butter on the inside. The incredible flavor profile and the consistency of each bite of this seabass, were simply unparalleled. And to add to all this awesomeness, the bed of risotto was perfectly cooked and tasted fantastic as well. To finish off our meal, we decided to share their apple tart pastry and it too, was fresh, flavorful and that scoop of ice cream on top, made the pastry just perfect. This place hits a perfect trifecta, with its phenomenal modern design , incredible food and absolutely superb customer service. Our waiter Zach was extremely nice, helpful, attentive and he was just a perfect guide throughout tonight's culinary adventure. My wife and I are more than satisfied and can't wait to come to Casalena again!
