I really wish this place was better since I love teriyaki beef but they really need to step it up. This is a solid spot for teriyaki if you are in the area but they either need to improve their quality, lower their prices, or give more generous portions. The quality and taste of the food is not the same.it taste bad. I do not buy anything from them anymore, because they make the trashcan in the plaza smell like dead cat. It smells horrible . When I asked a worker why it smelled so bad she blamed it on the other business in the plaza, but they are the only restraunt their. I mentioned this to her and then she blamed it on strangers using the plaza's trash can to dispose of trash. The plaza's trash can has a lock on it, so this is impossible. I was brought to this place by a friend who knew this place. He said that this place has the best teriyaki in the valley. And he was right!! I've never tasted teriyaki so sweet and smooth. We are new to the area and were craving some Teriyaki, so we gave bowl and burger a try. Super generous serving size of chicken (not just a ton of rice). The medium could have easily been put into the larger bowl and been passed off as a large. Food was tasty, I like their teriyaki recipe. We were given a 15-20 minutes wait time for our food, but it was out in about 10 minutes. The restaurant is not slick looking or fancy, but the price was excellent and the quality was good. The beef was old, and tasted stale with an overly chewy texture and wasn't even hot. I decided to give them another chance and come back a fourth time. Still not good. Maybe it's only good during rush periods where they sell a lot and the food is prepared fresh. I'm not sure, but unfortunately as much as I love Teriyaki and the concept of what they are doing here is good, I won't be giving it another chance. Inconsistent quality and cold stale beef is not appealing in the least. Don't trust the over hyped 5 star reviews for this place. Food is great. But the pricing is INSANE! Today I paid $18 for a large chicken teriyaki bowl. I can get filet mignon at Fogo de Chao for that price. They charge more for vegetables so they put veggies instead of rice and they charge extra for using a credit card and they charge extra for the teriyaki sauce! It's insane! Came here on whim based off of all the Yelp reviews. At first, the reviewers were talking about Golden Burger. So when I got there, I couldn't find Golden Burger and kept on checking on the address to make sure it's the same place. It's now called Teriyaki Bowl & Burger. I ended up ordering the teriyaki chicken and beef. I have to say that this is one of the best I've had. Reminds me of Waba Grill a lot. I like that they cut up the chicken here and serve it with green onions and sesame seeds. The sauce is also very good. It's not overly salty like Teriyaki Plus in Chatsworth. One thing that I did learn (NOTE: I did learn a lot) from my last relationship is that I learned where all the cracktastic, local restaurants are in our neighborhood. Bowl & Burger is one of those cracktastic restaurants. I love, love, love the Teriyaki Salmon plate with brown rice. Will cost you $16.01 with tax. Meal is a large portion for me. Comes with a couple, fried (or are they roasted -???) jalapenos too -they sprinkle a lemon & pepper seasoning on it (soooo good!!!). NOTE: if you order salmon, call your order in, as it takes 15-20 minutes for them to cook it up hot and fresh. Service is phenomenal. As the woman at the counter kept apologizing for the wait and she offered me free coffee as well as pulling out a chair encouraging me to sit. She also expressed concern for me -that I might have been working long hours, tired and need rest (NOTE: I did walk in wearing medical scrubs/uniform). She has such a motherly, sweet, kind vibe!
