I was looking for a new SFV Kabob place and came up with Ash's Grill on Tampa and Sherman Way. It is located in a small strip mall, with only six tables for inside dining. Three of them have two chairs each, while the others have 4 chairs. The menu is laminated and comes with numerous mediterranean dishes, and yes, there are kabobs. I chose the beef lule kabob entree, that comes with two minced kabobs, rice, grilled tomato, jalapeno and a very small cucumber tomato salad, some hummus too, all plated together. I also ordered their thick yoghurt with shallots to accompany the menu item. The Kabobs were grilled to order, could have used more flavor and were slightly overcooked. Overall, the components blended harmoniously. What stood out was their pita bread, grilled just right and so pillow soft on the inside. That with the yoghurt was absolutely divine. There was also a starter that came with the dish. I chose the lentil soup over the salad. Wow, an excellent selection. The perfect temperature, a nice mix of spices, warm aroma, enticing flavor and tongue feel. This introduction may have surpassed the rest that was to follow. I would go there specially to get the lentil soup alone, to go. Service here was high class, attentive and friendly. Definitely, worth a repeat visit. read more

Was craving a gyro so I tried Ash's Grill since they had great reviews. I ordered a lamb gyro and it was GREAT! Ingredients were fresh and the meat was seasoned perfectly. I'm surprised I haven't tried this location sooner, it's in an unassuming shopping center and I drive by it all the time. Very disappointed in this place. Tried going back and just am not getting a chance to try this a second time. This was my last visit, they do not speak an ounce of English enough to even be able to take orders. She was just looking at my face when I was trying to ask about pricing and the owner working in the back was no better. They have increased the price to almost $23 for a single plate, I tried placing an online order which they close more than 30 min before closing and the price is cheaper on there and when I pointed that out the guy lied and said they changed it - all the others who came to pick up online orders got it for that price, I'm not paying extra just because I came to place an order in person. Also it smelled bad in the store so I'm glad they won't be getting my business again. read more

Wow, I just happened to stumble upon this place after my child's dentist appointment across the walkway. I had the Chicken Shawarma Wrap and it was so delicious. The spicy sauce was so flavorful and yummy as well, not too spicy at all. This is our new go to spot for kabob in the valley. Everything is super fresh, meat is always juicy and we've never had a bad meal here. Portion sizes are great for the price, rice is always tender and really good. So far we've gotten almost every variation of kebab here and they've all been great. I do appreciate that they also have chicken tenders and fries on the menu if you have kids who won't eat middle eastern. Parking lot is small but manageable. The restaurant itself is quaint. My only qualm is if they could turn down the tv music a little bit. It was startlingly loud. When people talk about their secret hole I the wall with the best food, this is what they are talking about. The dining room and interior are the exact opposite of the food. Probably the best kebabs and rice in LA. I would know. Chicken breast is lemony and has a little char. Koobideh is super flavor and delicious. Rice on point. Service was outstanding. I sat and attempted to eat my lemon-pepper burger patty schwarma twice, and just couldnt get into it. Its not a schwarma, and they didnt include hummus even though it says every order comes with hummus on the menu. They did have a special sauce for the fries that was yummy, so that was a plus..... a small one. They quickly took my order for takeout and was told it would be about 20 mins. Food was ready by the time I came back and it smelled amazing. I got the mixed lule kebab plate and it had a beef and chicken lule over rice. Sides of salad, hummus, , pita bread, and veggies (separate in a bag). Flavor was on point, however the lule was slightly on the drier side but not terrible. For the price, it hit the spot. It was a huge portion and I ended up having a small portion of leftovers the next day. Not sure how it compares to other Mediterranean restaurants in the area, but it wasn't bad. read more

Locally Owned in the city of reseda off of Tampa north of sherman way. We have driven by hundreds of times and finally ordered for our guests, our sister in law recommended them. Their food was great, well cooked and tasty. They don't deliver so you have to pick it up. Their friendly staff took our order and was ready right on time, everything from the kabobs to appetizers like hummus and salad shirazi was on point and great amount. I ordered the Beef Lule Kebab, and all I have to say is that I really enjoyed the herbs and spices of each item. All of the meat was tender, and the there was a perfect amount of rice and pita bread to eat along the protein. The hummus was a bit on the sour end, and the shirazi also packed more of a sour taste than I had expected. The pepper was too spicy for my weak taste buds, but the meal was overall affordable and enjoyable. Knowing that this is around the neighborhood, I'll be back soon! :) read more

Idk if the day I went was a fluke or what but the food was okay. The seasoning was standard and was not anything special. If anything I wanted a bit more seasoning into the meat and chicken. The chicken tasted more lemon than the seasoning. The salad was okay and the lentil was soup was alright. Food wise it was alright. No one was there so the service was quick. 1st time and last time Placed a phone order Lady working there speaks bad English. Ordered two shawarma's for pick up. When picking up my order I realized only one was made and the lady gave me attitude and made it seem like it was my fault she didn't understand me over the phone. I was looking for something unassuming in a small strip mall for lunch and this did not disappoint. The chef owner has been making middle eastern food for almost 20 years and it shows. Everything was delicious and the family that owns it is beautiful! Good thing I'm not too far to bring my family for dinner. There are about 6 tables inside.
