Disappointed! Back when Ted owned the joint I felt like royalty when I walked in, he knew and greeted me by my name never had to wait to order. He even knew what I was going to order. I couldn't finish it all.... still looks like I have a full order of chili cheese fries. I gave it four stars for the cleanliness of the eating area. Good food with amazing prices. Some of the prices seem sorta normal and then you get what you ordered and realize how you got alot for your money. Inspired by the pictures posted, my husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger. It showed up just like the picture with loads of bacon. Impressive! Both that a busines is generous and that one person can eat a big topping packed burger. They do not skimp with ingredients. Know when you order avacado on something and it's maybe a few thin slices? Not so here where they just pack on big ripe chunks. Yummmmm Their ranch is really garlicy. It surprised me but I enjoyed it alot on our shared onion rings (they were out of zucchini). The bag of onion rings was sadly discarded after hubby and I worked on them for a while. I had half of my sandwich and those onion rings and now I am belly-achingly full. My breath is filled with garlic. And I jumped on yelp to share this find. I feel gooooooooood *burp* Knew that I would yeah. I can't speak to the claims of ugly people. Here's a word I have never used before in a review of anything; Gross. I believe this place has changed ownership within the past 5 years of so. I have seen this place decline in quality and general flavor in it's offerings. Back in the early 90s up to about 2005 or so this place had great breakfasts, really good (but not the overall best) gyros and burgers with freshly prepared taziki and fresh lettuce and other vegs. Their fries were hot, fresh and well seasoned. Prices were very reasonable, especially if ordered as a special combo with fries and drink. That was back then. Now, not so much. I used to go there at least once a month for over a decade until this month. I am afraid I will never return. Of my most recently ordered items; bloody red cheese burger, as in probably not on the grill for a minute or two each side - extremely rare. The lettuce on the burger was limp and brown around the edges. The tomato slices were old, as in the skin on each was wrinkly. What was also odd was that the onions seemed to have a vinegar tint to them. Fries were cold , plain and simple. I actually complained about the fries to the well tattooed counter girl , only to receive a replacement plate of the same bad quality I had been served before. If this is the best they could do for now, so be it. My last time eating there was on DEC10. I ordered the gyro combo. To my surprise, they changed it. A warmed through pita with really dry schwarma on it, topped with a sliced tomato and an unusual amount of cucumber spears. No lettuce, no ttziki, no onions. I asked the counter girl (same tattooed hood rat, but this time she had a foul mouth when talking on her cell phone - yes I can understand Spanish ) for some lettuce, onions and tatziki, which I did get. However, the onions were again old (as in sliced days earlier) and the lettuce was again old (brown edged and a sliminess consistency). The tatziki was normal, but you really can't screw it up as long as you follow directions. The fries were a combination of hot and cold. The were barely salted. The really sad thing about the experience, the prices are much higher than they used to be. Make that much higher than what one would expect given their current quality and in comparison with other burger/gyro joints in the area. The overall cleanliness of the dining room is in poor shape as well. The tile floor displays signs of neglect. read more

This is a neighborhood gem. The food is super cheap and good. I've tried the gyro and the burgers. Always yummilicious and always under $20 for two of us. We go for the combos which come with fries and a drink. A must try is the fried zucchini with the ranch dipping sauce. You get a huge paper bag filled with these slices of heaven. We usually throw out most of it because it is such a huge portion. The up side is that they do deliver so you don't have to bother going in. If you do go in, parking is a cinch. Go through the back door, get blasted by the keep-the-flies-out fan and you are good to go! read more

Used to be a Very good Greek fast food stand. But that was when the family was running it. Now it is several people, all that seem linguistically challenged. For instance Hamburger well done, no onions gets a Cheeseburger with extra onion delivered. The Greek Specials have been replace with Mexican specials. I love Mexican food, read my other reviews. Considering that this place is more like a fast food Greek joint, here are my thoughts... Lamb kabob- was super moist and tender (even after it sat in the fridge overnight and was warmed up in the microwave). I was pleasantly surprised because I was expecting it to be dry. Gyro- isn't from a spit, but considering it is the frozen version, wasn't bad. The last time I had the frozen version, it was super salty, but this one was good. Salad- We got the supersized version of our plates (for only $2 bucks more you get extra food)...the salad was good...loaded with feta cheese, sliced tomatoes, olives and cucumbers. Hummus- Instead of rice, we got hummus...I just had a little taste, and from that small sample, I thought it was good...not great though. Pita- is delicious...its the fluffy kind...LOVED IT! Tatziki sauce- is a little bland, but I can deal. Overall, for they get 3 stars for food and .5 star for bang for your buck and another .5 star for service (the girl that took my order was the only one there and even with the phone ringing off the hook, people walking in and customers asking for things left and right, she kept her calm and was still very helpful). If another Groupon comes up for this place and you live in the area, I suggest buying it. Cheap eats. read more

Seriously awesome bacon! I met a friend for lunch in Reseda. We were looking for an inexpensive lunch that could satisfy my gluttonous appetite...and it had to include bacon. My friend suggested Athenian Grill, and it turned out to be a fabulous little hole-in-the-wall with good prices, large portions, and most importantly great bacon! As I stood at the register ordering my food I could see what I can only describe at Mt. Bacon through the little window looking in to the kitchen. Honestly, it was a huge mountain of cooked bacon that reached high into the air. I got goosebumps, or maybe they were baconbumps...anyway, I immediately knew I was in the right place! Here is what I ate: Bacon avocado cheese burger combo- for a little less than $10 you get a respectable burger with fresh avocado, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, 1000 island dressing, mayo and a large portion of fantastic bacon. You get a choice of rice, fries, or salad...I had the fries, which were fresh, delicious, and abundant. The combo also includes a soft drink. My friend had the same burger but opted for zucchini fries (i.e breaded, deep fried zucchini.) The basket of zucchini was huge and could easily feed 2-3 people. I could not sample them because of my gluten issue but my friend assures me that they are delicious. The restaurant is clean, the staff is very pleasant, and the food was prepared to order and served within a reasonable amount of time. I will definitely return, perhaps with a Sherpa, to climb Mt. I go almost exclusively for the breakfast burritos. One of the best I have had in the SFV. You have your choice of meats and/or avocado to go with the eggs, cheese, and hash browns. My favorite is the sausage and avocado. The Golden Greek is also a good choice with all of the meats - ham, bacon, and sausage - this one was written up in the LA Weekly as one of the 10 best breakfast burritos in LA. I had the beef and lamb skewers (shared them with my wife). The meat was both very flavorful and tender enough that you can cut it with the plastic fork they give you. The pita and yogurt dipping sauce are a perfect foil. The fries are done just right with seasoned salt. Plus, the help behind the counter is unusually friendly and, yes, helpful. I don't understand why this place has such high reviews. It's really not that great. My boyfriend bought the Groupon here for us and it was sorely disappointing. Even he said it was janky. He probably enjoyed his lamb kebob more than I enjoyed my falafel plate, because I didn't like it at all. How do you mess up a falafel?! It was hard and disgusting looking. Do frozen falafels exist? Because that's what these falafels looked like. The rice was okay, but the fries were soggy and definitely frozen. The salad was alright, except the feta cheese looked so dried out. This place shouldn't even be called a "Greek" restaurant because their menu is all over the place that the Greek food is pretty much just a second thought. They serve all-day breakfast, hamburgers, hot dogs, all kinds of sandwiches, Greek food, AND Mexican food. Maybe if they concentrated on one area, the food here would be more edible. But what I experience today was so horrible. The guy that I think was the new owner was rudely pointing out the flaws a new employee was doing while taking my order. I miss when Ted owned this place, great guy! But, they still have a great breakfast burrito, go there and ask for the burrito with bacon and sausage, it's really good IMO. Haven't had a gyro or a burger/fries in a while. The issues I see with this place is that it gets pretty hot in the summer when dining in, the bathrooms are subpar, and some of the "characters" who frequent this place are not yelpers to say the least (LOL) Get the burrito to go or have it delivered. I felt it was kind of like, greek fast food ..... :( We ordered online, and then when trying to put the address in, it wouldn't recognise a cross street, so we had to go pick it up anyways. We ordered a meat gyro for our 7 year old; very obviously microwaved meat, which was a shame as he LOVES his gyros; that was a shame. I had a chicken kebab meal, which was really good, and the greek salad side was yummy. The meat kebab was tasteless, as was the hummus. There was a lot of it, and if it had have been a bit tastier it would have been awesome, but it wasn't ....... A real shame, but again, a restaurant that says it is great, but does burritos, burgers and grilled cheese, I should have known what to expect. Oh well ....... I'm new to the area, and thought I'd find the neighbourhood gem, I think I need to keep looking. read more

I have no idea why the ratings here are so high. This isn't really a 'Greek' place at all. This place gives off a super fast-food vibe and their 'Greek' menu is tiny. Mostly serving hamburgers, hot dogs, mexican food, and the like. Came here on a casual date expecting to try some Greek food, but was highly disappointed. I have been going to this restaurant since I was 6 years old. It has always been consistent in both its food and its management. The charbroiled taste on the burgers make it amazing. The gyros, fries, and chili cheese fries are a must try. They have a great deal on Tuesdays in which one can get four burgers, four orders of fries, and four drinks for around $14, which is a steal. I highly recommend this place. You won't be disappointed. BTW, they deliver. Food is delivered within a 35 minute time period. read more
