Overall, the components blended harmoniously. What stood out was their pita bread, grilled just right and so pillow soft on the inside. That with the yoghurt was absolutely divine. There was also a starter that came with the dish. I chose the lentil soup over the salad. Wow, an excellent selection. The perfect temperature, a nice mix of spices, warm aroma, enticing flavor and tongue feel. This introduction may have surpassed the rest that was to follow. I would go there specially to get the lentil soup alone, to go. Service here was high class, attentive and friendly. Definitely, worth a repeat visit.

Chicken skewer also had a lot of flavors to it. There were very well prepared and seasoned to perfection. I also got their Greek salad with lots of healthy vegetables. Stayed with water. They have many different types of juices: bottled, & fountain drinks. They even checked on me once, considering the fact that you place your order at the counter, and they will bring out your food to you. I hate giving anywhere a bad review.. but I just had to this time. I have been going to Athenian Grill since high school and have loved the fact that I can have gyros delivered to my door. My most recent experience with them was not the best. I ordered some food for a lazy day at home. Pretty simple order. It took them well over an hour to deliver the food and when it finally got there I was missing one of my drinks, no straws and all the sauce we asked for. I asked the girl on the phone to please repeat my order just so this wouldn't happen. The delivery guy just said "sorry.. but I am not responsible for anything other than bringing you what they give me". And was not willing to go back and fill our order. He took $2 off our bill and left. The part that frustrated me the most is the girl taking the order did not speak English very well and that was the root of this whole problem. I just feel like if your job is to answer phones and take orders, you should understand and speak English fluently. Instead they lost a solid long term customer.. not over the soda, straws or sauce.. but because they didn't care to fix the problem. I am sure the ownership change has something to do with this.. The quality of food has dropped. Our fries were so soggy we couldn't eat them. read more

Everything I have had from here is delicious. It is a small place that can be easy to miss driving down Reseda, but without a doubt one of the best Greek restaurants in the Valley. The prices are also awesome, incredibly cheap for the quality of the food you are getting. My only complaint is the insane delivery price which is to the point where I generally have to spend more or equal in delivery fees before tip than I am for two meals worth of food. So skip the delivery, but if you are in the neighborhood it is definitely worth stopping by for an amazing gyro -- or anything else for that matter EDIT: Just raised a star on my review, it turns out I just am dumb for using GrubHub to order. We are regular customers, often times 5 day a week. We have ordered more than 100 times and have been disappointed only once. Always have fast service and the food is just what we expect from a "burger joint" ... except they serve all kinds of tastes. From breakfast to burgers they have you covered. Not many places will send you steak and eggs along with your Lamb kabob! We have NEVER had a rude delivery person. The two that we see are very courteous and always a smile.Please give them a try. I was visiting family in Los Angeles and went to the Athenian Grill for lunch. My food was fresh and so delicious. We all shared plates so I had a chance to taste many of the dishes and I enjoyed them all. If I lived in Los Angeles this restaurant would definitely be one visited regularly. I prefer to omit the lettuce and tomatoes, not liking the cold watery veggies, so it the layers were just refried beans, generous melty cheese, a scoop of guacamole, a scoop of sour cream and grilled chicken on top. But the shell is the star! I could tell it was made in house and was not at all greasy, just light and crunchy, perfect for dipping into the beans and cheese. I noticed the burritos are served "wet," with sauce and cheese, but Hubs is a simple guy, just likes beef and cheese wrapped in a tortilla and done. Nothing more. No beans. No rice. Meat and cheese. I saw his burrito was wrapped in foil, so I knew they hadn't made it "wet" - yay! Unfortunately, the pico de gallo was left in. He really doesn't care for onions or cilantro, but when I asked him about it he said it was fine. About 12 minutes later that shredded beef and cheese lil burro had vanished. When I asked him how it was, he declared it 'Yummy!' He said the pico de gallo was a small amount, but it did make him sneeze and cleared his sinuses, soooo.....LOL They included a small, perfect amount, of chips and offered pico de gallo with those, but I declined the side.
