Formerly a favorite, under new management. HORRIBLE. Saturday night, 6:30pm dinner service. After being seated, it took 1 hour to receive our soup/salad course, then received our entrees a half hour after that. We kept having to remind them of what we ordered, from drinks to starters. Service,l was the worst off all these offenses. As for the food: bread=flavorless. Calamari=soggy, tasted fishy, way too chewy. Lentil soup= bland. Had to add a bunch of salt and pepper to make it edible. Greek salad= over saturated in oil. The redeeming thing were the entrees. The lamb shank, mousaka, and grouper mikonos were delicious. Sadly they were all out of the orzo and potatoes that come with the entrees, so we just had the protein and vegetables, so substitution for the missing food. What we did get was good. But not enough to raise my review from one star. read more

This is GOOD Greek food, as close to good home cooking as you will find anywhere. Every dish and sauce is prepared from scratch and it shows in the subtlety of flavors. Amazing authentic Greek food. Run by a Greek family that treats everyone that walks through the door like one of their own. The service was efficient and food served piping hot. I had the tilapia sunset, which was the special, that was tilapia in a lemon cream sauce with roasted sweet peppers, Greek olives, mushrooms, and feta along with orzo. Delicious! We had a party of 8 and it was refreshing to not be charged an automatic 18 percent gratuity. I have been here many times and will return again. read more

Excellent Greek food (and from what I can tell, it's pretty authentic too)! Got the Greek Combo and chicken, lemon, rice soup. The soup and bread were super yummy! I wanted seconds, I was even tempted to swap out my entre for more soup and bread! But the Greek Combo was good too, I definitely recommend it. The lady answering the phone did not know the menu. There are only three vegetarian options. Another woman took my order and spoke very fast in Greek. When I asked about the salads I was told to add on sides instead of one large as equivalent. When I arrived I was charged 4$ per side salad instead of 2.50 additional and the salad was very limited. Gibbs in orange park is better than this... When I complained she was very rash and said the salad I showed her on the website was not the Greek, but H... Please see pictures and my research that she lied. She also said they only put like 1 tomato and 2 cucumbers. My daughter only wanted a Greek salad for her birthday. She was nice enough to give me a free cookie, but that does not fix the salads. I was also short a salad when I arrived for to go order. Have not tested our meals yet. Will not go there again and I drove 20 miles. Inside the restaurant is not a place of culture or class or I would have ate inside..for my daughters birthday. In one word, YUMMY! The food was bursting with flavors. Chicken was juicy , flavorful and so tender it was coming off the bone. The Greek style potatoes were scrumptious. Had not been to this restaurant since new ownership. I was pleasantly suprised. The chairs and tables were new and much more comfortable. There was an extensive menu with a great and a veggie and meat dishes. In addition there was a small plate menu which looked good. My food was very good as was the food of my group. I recently ate at a work related event at Athen's Cafe and I was very impressed. I had the gyro with fries and it was very tasty. We used one of their private rooms (they have quite a bit of space!) and the service was fantastic. They were very accommodating of our group of 20 and also very affordable. We were fortunate enough to meet the CHO (Chief Happiness Officer), Ted and the owner, Sam; both treated us like family, as did our server, Stella. My mom and stepfather introduced me to this restaurant years ago. Since then my family and I are greeted by the owner everytime. The atmosphere is calm with Greek music in the background. We happened upon Athens cafe today for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed every dish as well as the hospitality of our server, Barbara. My wife had the pastichio,which was very good, and I had the grouper lemonato. Loved the sauce and the grouper was fantastic. This included a side of orzo and each meal had either Greek salad or lemon chicken soup. The Greek white wine was the perfect complement to the meal and we will definitely be back soon. Eureka! (I found it) the Greek Restaurant that rivals those of Chicago. The recipes were excellent and reminded of both Chicago and Greece itself. I had the lamb shank- the meat fell from the bone with a fork and my partner had the whole fish which we were told is flown in fresh from the Mediterranean. Stopped by this afternoon after picking up a friend from the airport to visit the owner (Georgia), and, as usual, she welcomed us in with open arms, despite the fact that I hadn't seen her in years. Unfortunately the kitchen had just closed from lunch, but we were able to order some drinks and baklava. It's been a number of years since I've had it, but it's hands-down the best I've ever had. My girlfriend ordered Greek coffee, coffee addict that she is, and she's now determined to find some where we live because she liked it so much! You can't beat Georgia's Greek hospitality though. It's part of why the restaurant is so welcoming, I think. Truly enhances the experience! I'll definitely be going back more often, especially since I'm dying to get my hands on a good gyro! Went in for lunch to go and had a gyro with lentil soup as my side option. Perfect for lunch and very reasonably priced. The gyro was just as good as the ones I used to buy in ny.
