Catullo's is phenomenal Italian. Probably the best in Jacksonville, if not all north Florida. Catullo's would rival even some of the top Italian restaurants in south Florida. Not only am I quite picky, I'm also Italian, and Catullo's absolutely gets it right. No corners are cut here as everything is made with quality and care. I HIGHLY recommend the lemon mascarpone cake. It is absolutely insanely delicious and reminds me of being back on the Amalfi coast. The meatball appetizer is also something truly special. Last time I went I had the scallop lemon pasta and it was perfect. Everything I've had is so good at Catullo's that merely writing this review is making me hungry! The restaurant is always busy, so show up early, but they treat every party with a personal experience. It's a small spot in a strip mall, and the inside has a fun sort of New York Italian American theme.

First time at Catullos was a great experience, the staff was incredibly friendly. The menu had lots of variety, I finally decided on the Shrimp Fra Diavolo. It has the right amount of spice and was well cooked. The Arancini and Fried Mozzarella were also very good.

This was only my second visit to Catullo's. It's been about 4.5 years. The first time the food was very good! I had the Sunday Supper. But this time, it was AMAZING! I had heard about the Pear Fiocchi and decided to give it a try. OH MY WORD! The balance of sweet, savory and salty is just perfect! Wasn't sure if I'd like the mix of Gorgonzola and goat cheese but it really is one of the most delicious Alfredo type sauces I've had. And I really loved that it was not over sauced. The crispy bits of Prosciutto di Parma were the best topping! My hubby and I sat at the bar. He had the clams and being a bit of a clam snob, he really enjoyed his dish! This is a busy little place but worth the wait. It's not crazy loud even though it's a small, intimate, busy restaurant. Mark and Ryan were so attentive and friendly. If you haven't been, you really should go. Sit at the bar! Make new friends!

This is my 3rd time here and I ALWAYS look forward to coming here. I live in California and always talk about this place to everyone I know. Not only are they welcoming but it's just a great atmosphere! I always start out with the spiced meatballs with garlic sauce as it just sets the tone. I was able to try their banana pear foicchi with sausage and my was that simply amazing! Great place to go if you're in the area and looking forward to my next visit! Well done Catullo's

Such a lovely restaurant (if you can get a table!). Catullo's is one of my husband's favorite restaurants in Jax and for good reason. Their creative and delicious meals always leave a lasting impression and rotating menu keeps us on our toes. Some of our favorites are the arancini and shrimp fra diavalo, which lucky for us has earned a permanent spot on their menu. They do not take reservations and consistently have a wait if you don't arrive early, but allow people to sit outside with a glass of wine while they wait. Our waiter, Ryan, gave us great recommendations on our latest visit and the scallop lemon pasta was incredible. Something to note, they usually put their own spin on classic Italian dishes, so what you order might not be what you're used to, but is sure to be delicious!

Ok, so this is clearly one of my favorite Italian restaurants! It was so good. This time I got the special. Ragu d'antra. It's delicious! It's duck. And I loved it. Hopefully it comes back because I will definitely be there for it. The service was great.

    Scallops and veal.

Catullo's Italian restaurant made a strong first impression, just not the kind you hope for. The moment I stepped inside, the room was dimly lit and filled with a heavy, pungent cheese smell that hit like a wall. I'm all for a good stinky cheese, but this was intense enough to distract from the meal before it even started. The scallops and veal arrived looking like they belonged in a magazine spread. Sadly, the flavors didn't follow through. The scallops were tough and dry on the outside, with a passable interior, but they were so underseasoned they didn't bring anything exciting to the plate. The veal had a strange, almost oily aftertaste that made it hard to enjoy.

Best Italian food in town! Family run business, so all the wait staff are in the family. They are such characters, very charming, and very entertaining. Great service start to finish. Seating is limited so there is a line sometimes, but definitely worth it! All the food is fresh and tasty!

The reason there is always a line is because this restaurant is top-of-the-line. The originality of their dishes mixed with the stunning flavor combinations make this restaurant a true standout in town. Never a bad experience.

My wife and I came in last night for an early dinner. We were a bit worried about the popularity of the restaurant and the fact we couldn't make a reservation but it wasn't an issue at 5PM. The service was very good. Our water cups stayed full all visit with a half dozen visits by the wait staff. Our server was very attentive and nice. We also found the atmosphere nicer than what I had expected from photos. Lighting was dim by design and there was some music somewhere playing The spiced meatballs with garlic sauce were okay. Ours came out a bit small and a tad too crispy. The sauce was very good though. I ordered the sausage and peppers which were really good. I was a little worried that the portion size would be small, but I found the meal hearty. My wife ordered the pear fiocchi which had a wonderful flavor. She was stuffed. Overall, I found our meal very good. Pricing seems to have increased about 20% over prices listed in the photos, but the quality was very high. I found the overall cost fine considering how good the dishes were.

    Scallops with Calabrian Chilli Risotto
    Rachna K.

Definitely one of my favorite Italian spots in Jax! Our server today recommended the scallops with a Calabrian chilli risotto and these were the best scallops I've had in Jacksonville! We also got the arancini with had a layer of goat cheese in it, a very unique taste profile and it tasted delicious! The shrimp rosato was also great! It tastes similar to a vodka sauce. The ambiance of the restaurant is perfect for a date night or a cozy upscale meal with family/friends. They only have a $15 corkage fee too which is great if you want to bring your own wine like we did.

Our server Frenchie also made it very clear that she's only working for tips - but she wasn't working very hard for them. Not only did she belittle our party for our ages, but also made it our problem for taking our food/drink orders late. One person in our party asked a question regarding an entree on the menu and he was met with a smart remark and little to no detail explaining the entree. Later on in the night when the whole table is done eating - we all decide to help out and clean up the table as best as we can. Frenchie decided it was a good time to make yet another smart remark about stacking the plates on top of each other. She continued to say "Have you ever been a server before?" and before really answering she cut me off to say "well then you should know not to stack the plates because you don't know if the server can handle that many plates" ... as she continued to take the pile of dishes out of my hand. If she can't handle too many plates in her hands, then she should've just waited to clear the table or politely say "i'll come back for those plates in a minute" by the end of it all , the entire table felt very uncomfortable by her demeanor towards us - of course we still tipped because we understand what it's like to make a living off of tips but to have a sour attitude and continually reminding us that you're here for tips isn't a great way of having customers coming back.

At the time, Mayport Cats was the branch that handled the feral cat colonies out by Mayport Base (TNR, feeding, vet care & evaluation to see if any could be placed for adoption). My aunt occasionally volunteered and contacted us about a 9mth kitten, that had delivered her own litter of kittens and was available for adoption but had been overlooked at several adoption events. My husband and I went to meet Clover, we immediately knew she'd be the perfect fit for our daughter (and boy oh boy has she been) and brought her home that day. Included in her paperwork was information about The Caffeinated Cat and our entire family was so excited to learn such a place existed. Several of our children have chosen to make donations of food, toys and treats (for the kitty residents of the cafe) for their birthdays and other milestones vs receiving gifts......and of course, we always procure some human treats for ourselves while there. Lastly, they stepped up and stepped in when we were experiencing a situation with a stray that had been dumped in our neighborhood (unfortunately it's quite common here). He was a stunning muted Siamese that adored people and dogs, but seemingly hated other cats although it seems that particular trait was due to the stress of being dumped and insecure (once he was no longer a "stray" the issue resolved)my kids named him Pig due to his pink nose. I was caring for him but couldn't bring him into our home, as he kept charging the glass door, hissing and growling every time one of our cats walked by. Sadly, he showed up badly injured one morning.....after an obvious fight with another cat, seemingly having lost his eye. I was heartbroken for him, I knew he needed to belong to someone.....he was not feral nor adjusting to the lifestyle well and that point seriously injured. I contacted Mayport Cats/The Caffeinated Cat with the hope of getting some guidance/advice but they instead offered to take him into their care. He was renamed "Merlin" because his eye somehow magically reappeared after being seemingly gone for 3 days and he healed beautifully, I'm not sure if he's still a resident or has been adopted but The Caffeinated Cat is an amazing place, that offers a unique experience that benefits our community ....If you are a cat or animal lover, you should definitely stop by, grab a drink and pet a fur baby! **Including photos of Clover and Pig aka Merlin

While I wouldn't call this a go-to "work from a coffee shop all day" sort of spot. After asking around I found out this place has two floors the top floor has a space for daily office rentals. I am here on a Saturday and had no problem finding a place to work from on the first floor.  I asked Katie who was walking by and was super helpful about why it is called Ink Factory Brewing. This place used to be where Void Magazine was written and published hence "Ink Factory".  I was pleasantly surprised. The space is large enough that I found a quiet corner and even managed to snag a power outlet. The staff didn't seem bothered at all by me settling in with my laptop. That said, Ink Factory feels more like a place to hang out try the coffee, grab some food, maybe have a beer rather than a dedicated work spot. The space immediately gives off a relaxed beach vibe white walls, local artwork, surfboards, and beach apparel everywhere. It feels equal parts coffee shop, hangout spot, and beach town brewery. My coffee was spot on. Emily was awesome and helped me build a custom drink: an iced coffee with a shot of espresso, mocha syrup, topped with cold foam. Not only did it taste great, but she made it look so good that people sitting at the bar asked what I ordered. This kind of care and presentation really stood out.  If they're really busy, finding an outlet could be tough. Parking is also a bit limited for such a large space, but that's pretty typical for the beach area. Not the place I'd camp out every weekday, but definitely somewhere I'd come back to.
