Customer service was awesome! Jocelyn was very helpful and friendly. She made sure that all of the customers received the best service making sure that if they needed anything she would attend to their needs. The store upgrade is awesome. I love that the cashier is now in a center location. I went to Athleta looking for Capri shorts or pants with zippers but it seemed like there were more short shorts however Joycelyn was very helpful with trying to find something that would work. Good quality products. This is the reason for the 2 stars. L Service as awful. There were several clerks and a woman who appeared to be the manager working. We were waiting in line to buy a single pair of leggings. Two customers were at the register with two people, one who appeared to be a manager. The manager finished with her customer. Although we were standing there next, she ignored us to try to get the other customer to agree to a credit card. She asked another clerk if she was available but she was in the middle of something in the back. We were not acknowledged while the manager continued to try to sell the card to the other customer. We waited for 5 minutes before the clerk finished what she need to do in the back. With service like this it is no wonder stores are closing and everyone is buying online. I will contact corporate on this experience. It was terrible. read more

Out of the more expensive athletic brands, Athleta is my favorite! Their leggings are amazing and worth the price with a waistband that holds up and, best of all, pockets! While you can shop online, going in the store gives you a better feel of the fabrics and details of their collection. Today they were featuring 20% off all sweaters and sweatshirts plus had a pretty large clearance section. Their staff is super friendly and helpful. I had a gift card I could only use at this location (part of a past promotion) and a jacket I had my heart set on to use it with. They didn't have my size in the store but they found it for me online, helped me place the order, use my promotional card and ship it for free! With all the online shopping these days, there's something to be said for shopping in person. This is by far my favorite Athleta location. The store has a good flow and lots of options while not feeling overstocked. The sales items are conveniently located in the dressing room area as the perfect last stop before trying on a few cute pieces, or the last stop when leaving the dressing room headed for the register. Athleta is definitely in my top three favorite brands of workout/athleisure gear! I come to this location quite frequently and each time I have a great shopping experience. I'm always greeted right when I walk in, the staff always asks if I need help with anything throughout my time there, the store is nice and tidy, and I never leave empty handed because there is always something new and cute I need to have! The layout of the store is great and things are always so organized in a way that's pleasing to the eye. I love that each time I come in everything is displayed in a new way to keep things fresh. The quality of Athleta's clothing is almost unbeatable! Their clothes are always some of the softest things I own and everything is so comfy. Not to mention, I'm 5"1' with short legs - finding leggings that actually fit me correctly and hit at the ankle is almost always IMPOSSIBLE. Most of my leggings from other brands I'll get in a size XS or S, and they'll fit me everywhere just fine, except for the length. I love that Athleta's 7/8 length leggings fit me P E R F E C T L Y: they're comfy, not too tight, super soft, the perfect length, and the waistband doesn't come up too high (since I have a short torso too LOL). Most of my other shopping I do online, so I'm happy to say that Athleta is one of the few places I will actually go to in person because I know I'll have a great shopping experience each time. I'd add photos of all the clothing items I have from here, but it'd probably slow your phone down because it'd take forever to load haha. Just how much I love coming here. Overall 10/10. I've been to a lot of Athleta stores these days. The quality of the clothing is just like most people have mentioned...butter. It just makes you feel so good. But enough Athleta gushing. I know it's a pricey line, but it's a little cheaper than Lululemon and I'm taking baby steps in my athletic clothing considering that I went from Ross/Marshalls no name brands to now Athleta, I think I'm heading in the right direction. So whenever there's a coupon for 20% off anything including sales, I take advantage of it. I can get 30% off on regularly priced items since I have the fitness Pro account, but of course...30% off their normal stuff is a bit expensive still on a fitness instructor's salary! This Athleta unlike other Athleta's felt a little more friendly. I know many others have mentioned the horrible service, but I actually had the complete opposite when I stopped by a Friday afternoon. I was approached by many of the staff asking if I need help or need a room started as well as greeted when entered which is a bit the opposite experience I've had at other Athleta stores though the Santa Clara one has its ups and downs. So I think it's really who's working at the time. Their sale section is a bit small compared to the one at the Valley Fair Mall a little closer in size to the one in San Ramon. The one gripe I do have is some of the sale items are all around the store so it's not in one centralized area which can get really annoying for someone like me who likes to find all their sale items and peruse through them in one area. Check out was a bit of a hassle as the person helping me couldn't log into her scanner and had to hand me off to another person. Parking here is a nightmare though but if you're willing to pay for it..which basically you do since all the metered spots are for pay as well as the garage now is for pay too...I'm sure you can park in one of the other garages that are free for 3 hours and just walk over. I just was strapped for time and got lucky with a parking spot just in front of the spot with some time on it still. Overall, it's a nice little store in the Downtown Walnut Creek area. It's just a bit far from me and would only go here if there's specific items only available here or if I just happened to be in the area. read more

Yup, my hands are soft. Besides my ritual of almond hand cream and cuticle oil, I wear gloves in the winter. I don't like heavy gloves and prefer cross chill. Problem is I have small hands and men's gloves are too long for my fingers. Women's large is my size. A nice selection of women's large gloves here. The helpful staff are patient as I try on numerous pairs. I didn't find what I liked, however I was directed to sporting goods store that might have what I'm seeking. I took a look at the men's workout clothing, which are really nice. I'm going to give myself new gym rat duds when I make my first fitness goal! With the fabulous customer service here, I'll be back. I feel like I am at this store once a week these days! Beautiful location in BWP, plenty of parking which is free for the first couple hours of your shopping day. They have the BEST masks that come in a 5 pack for about $30. They have a nice sale section toward the back of the store usually, as well as more hidden sale racks in the back near the fitting rooms- make sure to peruse both areas! The team here is helpful and efficient and they usually have the sizes you need, or if not they offer to order for you. read more

This review has to do with my experience returning items bought online. I bought something online and didn't look at their return policy. Athleta was going to charge me $7 to return the items by mail unless I went into a store directly. I should have looked at this before ordering, although didn't so this was my fault. I was visiting a friend nearby so I thought that I would return this here to avoid the $7 charge after our visit. The service at the store was exceptional! Returning the items was seamless and the staff were very friendly! They deserve 5 stars on service alone. The area that it's in is really nice with a lot of stores so if you want a great shopping experience in this area, I recommend going early. I am giving this experience 4 stars because unlike other reviews, this place does not have plenty of free parking and is very busy. This may be true for a couple of hours if you go early in the morning. However, I went later in the evening and there is no free parking at that time. There are lots of metered parking that has increased over the years. I personally could not justify paying for parking to return items that I bought online. I ended up parking in a bank parking lot illegally nearby and went to return the items quickly hoping that I wouln't get a ticket. I would not recommend this. I just wish this area wasn't overrun with metered parking so that the return process is easier on customers and that customers don't have to likely risk paying money for parking just to return items. read more

Sometimes, I buy something a piece of clothing that I really like and want to replace it with the same exact thing a couple of years later. I'm looking at your SmartWool jacket. It was in serious need for replacement and bought another brand because SmartWool discontinued it. And a couple of years later, that needed to be reviewed. This is a great location! Great store and helpful associates! Today I was looking to replace that thin black jacket with zippered pockets and Dani was so helpful. She showed me two and I bought both! She happened to be wearing the one of them and it was very close to what I was looking for. One jacket isn't the best fit for me - the sleeves are a tad too long but it's so comfy that I may keep it. Love the quality of these work-out clothes! So soft, like butter! They may be on the higher dollar side, but they last through hard wear. I also like how they have in-store events. Just happened into one for @be.fit.davis that will be meeting at the store for a run club and coaching, on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings. So cool! It's really reasonable too. I believe the coaching is only $99 a month and I get a $25 Athleta gift card! I love that they personalize your fitting room with your name on the outside, so you can try different sizes and styles and not lose your room. They had yummy refreshments also when I was there. An added bonus is they have nice his and her rest rooms, as we were trying on clothes for quite awhile! I think between the ladies that I was with they spent a fortune, but well worth it!! I'm sold on the quality and beautiful colors with mix and match styles! read more

I agree with other people who have written something similar. The clothes are (in my opinion, overpriced) but of decent/good quality (4-4.5). The customer service here (at the WC location) however, is probably about a 2. I feel obligated to write reviews like this because customer service really affects the entire shopping experience. I was asked if I wanted to start a dressing room, but after that, I walked by at least 3 employees and they proceeded to stand around chatting instead of asking if anyone needed help. My sale would have been bigger if someone had asked what I needed or what I was looking for. Instead I grabbed the first pair of pants that fit how I wanted them to, and went to check out. But I had to ask the employee if I could check out, interrupting her conversation. I honestly could not wait to get out of the store because it just felt fake and unwelcoming. read more

I am a full time teacher and teach over 25 classes a week in Barre, sculpt, Pilates, yoga, ariel yoga, including a handful of senior and children's classes. I need fitness apparel that can work in all situations. Plus I am a thicker fitness pro so it's hard to find stuff that makes me feel good, look good, and give me the support I need all day. I give everything a chance and have shopped everywhere. I have to say t is really hard for me not to shop anywhere but Athleta in walnut creek. Their clothes hold everything and fit me well. I am usually a median here, and not a large or xlarge like I am everywhere else. I feel like a normal woman with curves, and when I go to other places shopping can leave me feeling a bit sad about my shape. It makes shopping pleasurable again and I it could be in my head but I think this stuff looks awesome on me. Plus the designs are up to date and sleek! The retail Pro's are so helpful. I can be a little indecisive and they are always patient with me and eager to help. They don't over sell me, if something looks bad they will tell me "that doesn't look right on you, don't get it". The honestly of the employees is so refreshing. If I want something and they don't have it, they order it for me, if the wear house is out, they call all the other stores to see who has it, and who can get me it. And if something doesn't work they take it back no questions asked. They don't make me feel guilty about it. Uff I just can't express how much I have fallen inlove with this store and these ladies. All of them are amazing! Alyssa is the best manager so encouraging and helpful with customers and her staff. Courtney always helps me out with the latest stuff and is so on point with her honest opinions, and super positive! Yesterday I spent way too much money than I should have on clothes. But I couldn't help it; when you love the way it looks, love the way it feels, and the staff is having a good time with you, how can you not help but to want to buy and spend all the money. I'm a fan of Athleta products (i'd give a 4.5) but do have a concern about the customer experience (I'd give about a 2-2.5) Rather than simply shopping elsewhere thought I'd give feedback in hopes you'll improve. I've shopped at the Walnut Creek store many times and always had pretty mediocre service. I'm usually asked immediately when I walk in if I need help but unless I'm returning, that's too soon. The problem is after that first inquiry I always feel like I'm on self serve. I was there today. Couldn't find anyone to let me into a dressing room and then when I was ready to purchase, girls were talking about personal stuff while I waited to spend money. To be honest, I was interested in some other items but needed help and just didn't feel like imposing so decided to pass. I've been tempted to walk out before and felt similarly today. I'm very active and love the clothes but not enough to keep me coming back if the service isn't good. Hope I won't have to take my business to the competition. read more

Just checked out the new shop location in WC, more room for sure than the pop-up. I do love Athleta, though it runs a bit pricey. Sales are always nice. I find it better for me to order online to get the petite length too. But I did find a nice pair of their stretch drifter tight with zippered pockets that I love for travel in black, that weren't too long on me. Also it's nice to see in person new things and sometimes just try it on for fit. All the salespeople and very friendly and helpful. read more

What is in the WATER here at the Walnut Creek location that sets this team apart?! Top-notch customer service this morning. I already had this very thought to myself, the last time I made a purchase at this store many months ago, and today's experience pushed me towards setting aside some of my weekday time to write a review. Given a busy holiday season, and the store has small-ish walkways, yet the flow still feels managed well. I was checked-in on several times but without feeling pressured to buy or to hurry, and was given space. I'm going to sound like a TED Talk sound byte for a second but I really felt "seen and valued" as a customer. I wasn't purchasing a particularly large amount of product either, just a normal customer (who has decided to give this store more of my future business and word of mouth recommendation). Associates took the time to go through all the requests I had regarding discounts and applying a gift card. I noticed they all had a positive and upbeat but very calm and thorough/detail-oriented demeanor, both towards myself as the guest and towards each other as colleagues.
